👋 Góðan daginn, warriors!👋

No matter how far back we look into the history of mankind, there has always been a group of people who prioritized their own good and wealth over the well-being and even lives of their fellow kin.

They are not used to living off the hard work of their own hands, and it is in vain to look for them in honest workplaces, such as farms, workshops, or stores. 🗡 Oh no, their places of work are mountain trails, forest paths, and hiding places near narrow bridges. The bandits are the real terror of travelers roaming around the world of Gimle. Remember to always keep your eyes and ears wide open... but make no mistake - one gloomy day you will meet them too.




Today, we will take a closer look at their inglorious profession and consider the best tactic for interacting with a pack of greedy bandits (though this interaction is usually limited to the simple choice: coin or life). The trick is to make sure this isn't your life that gets taken 💀


The life of an outlaw




How does one become a bandit? Well, it's quite simple. You leave your homeland and set off into the unknown - from now on, all you need is something to cover your face, sharp steel, and the strength of your arm. There are numerous circumstances that make the people of Gimle abandon honest jobs and set off on a road to plunder and rob 😈 Poverty, unfair harm, a desire to get rich, or the call of adventure are only to begin with!

We have to remember, that bandit's life is very unpredictable and risky. It is not uncommon for some of them to end their careers during the first ambush - either on the end of a rope or with their backs studded with the arrows of caravan guards. Travelers often know how to defend themselves efficiently and can hurt unfortunate thieves really, really bad.

On the other hand, a successful robbery can mean acquiring wealth for which the common man would have to work for many long years 💰 Experienced bandits who know their trade are known to be very wealthy, well-equipped, and deadly dangerous.


Appearance




As you surely suspect, the bandits often wear hoods and bandanas over their heads and faces. Maintaining anonymity is extremely important in this profession. The faces of careless outlaws can get imprinted in travelers' memory or end up in the 'wanted' poster 📜 - and that's what they want to avoid!

Bandits most often wear armor made of cloth or leather (although sometimes you can meet heavier armored individuals) because they do not make any unwanted sounds and allow for a silent approach to the victim. Depending on the place of operation, the colors of their clothes are brown, greenish, gray, black, and even white - all this to help them blend in with the background.

The bandit way is attractive mainly to young people from smaller towns and villages, and that's who you can expect when getting attacked. Of course, there are also real veterans among them, but they are a fairly rare sight. 💪


How to fight them?


In this case, much depends on the right assessment of the situation. Does the gang that attacked you have a significant advantage in numbers? Are they well-equipped? Are you alone? 🤔 A quick analysis of the circumstances will help you decide whether it is better to fight or try to find another solution. Sometimes the best way is to just give them what they want and walk away peacefully. But for many proud Vikings, surrendering is not an option...

If you are one of them, you'd better get your weapons ready ⚔ Fighting bandits does not differ much from fighting other representatives of the human race. Some of your opponents will be quick and effective, others will not pose much of a challenge. Try to choose your position so as not to get surrounded by your foes. Another piece of advice is to avoid archers and their deadly arrows 🏹 Make sure that at least one member of the gang is always in the way between the bandit shooters and you!

Bandits are almost never heavily armored, so don't hesitate to adopt a more aggressive fighting style - sometimes the best defense strategy is a wild, quick attack. If you manage to emerge victorious, don't forget to collect your bounty - outlaws' pockets are often full of looted coins and valuables! 💎

In this update, we have improved the church, added new godsends and increased the overall reward. Added a statue of the Kings in the center of Hartfurt. Part of the graphics optimization has been done.

Update 2.2.324. Changelog

- Added a statue in the center of Hartfurt in honor of the Kings, when interacting, you will see a list of feudal characters with the King pack.

Church:
- Plague Rat Tail can now be obtained from the corpses of plague rats.
- Godsends have been added to the church (including three new ones, some will require Identification).
- Updated decor in the church rooms.
- The exit in the final room is made more visible (torches of a different color).
- Fixed a bug with passing through the walls in the common room.

Improvements and optimization:
- Improved the speed of monsters and pets in accordance with the speed of the player.
- Now, when opening the split window, the quantity input field is highlighted and you can immediately write the exact quantity with the keyboard.
- Updated and optimized graphics of some buildings.
- Added experimental memory cleaning and vegetation loading.
- Improved graphics quality profiles (Ultra now uses the maximum, while High and Normal are slightly better optimized).
- Optimized textures that took up a lot of memory.

Fixes:
- Fixed a bug due to which quests to kill groups of monsters were counted regardless of difficulty.
- Terrain textures no longer lose sharpness in the corners of the screen.
- Fixed application of the Infection effect from an exotic helmet.
Heads Will Roll: Downfall - death and rebirth
Hello!
I'm glad to inform you that patch 1.85 is just around the corner and it's gonna be a pretty major one. But before diving into details I have to say that this patch is also going to be the last patch for Downfall as we have to move forward and fully concentrate of HWR: Reforged.

1.85 will bring a variety of bugfixes while also shaking up the whole game balance - hopefully getting rid of many exploits and forcing players to play much more strategically.
The early build of the patch is already available on our Boosty page. Steam version will be released some time next week after some additional testing.

Changelog:

Fixed:
1. Fixed a bug that allowed to duplicate trinkets if all three equipped trinkets are identical.
2. Fixed an abuse with permanent inventory space increase through trinket manipulation.
3. Fixed a bug with enemies having negative stamina recovery value.
4. Fixed a bug with gorgets, bracers and legarmor losing their properties and turning into "0" items (HOPEFULLY).
5. Fixed the "ally_bone_crusher_limbs" error that resulted in a crash.
6. Fixed an error that allowed to trigger reconnaissance quest in chapters 2 and 3.
7. Fixed a bug when damaged armor item with 0 actual armor value still 'partially blocked' the strikes.

Added and changed:
1. Stats debuffs from armor items no longer allow to level stats above the chapter threshold.
2. Slightly decreased available time in between battles on HWR difficulty.
3. Further increased evasion penalty applied to stunned targets (from -50 to -80).
4. increased the cost of weapon skill levelling in manual generation.
5. Player can no longer equip identical trinkets.
6. Added hotswap for pouches with stored items.
7. Manual character generation now also allows to increase and decrease virtue.
8. Reworked flagrum, now it correctly applies virtue buffs (like pray), but also has stronger penalties.
9. Slightly reworked formula that determined enemy stats (now they will be just a little bit increased).
10. Added one additional armor item in shop (if soldiers rep is higher than 25).
11. Now damage is increased for every 6 points of weapon skill insted of every 3.
12. Sligtly tweaked some weapons' damage and stamina consumption.
13. Added several new icons.
14. Reworked formulas for armor interaction:
  • limbs armor will be easier to punch through
  • head and neck armor will be considerably harder to punch through
  • overhead strikes now will be much more potent at punching through armor
15. Increased armor value of pretty much all body armor.
16. Split everhead strikes into two categories: one-handed and two-handed. One-handed overheads increase damage by a third of character's strength. Two-handed - by a half.
17. Deep cut now increases damage by a half of your agility. This bonus also can be increased by body part damage modifier.
18. Coordination no longer increases your fatigue recovery, now it is increased by your endurance. Basic fatigue recovery value is 10% of your max stamina.
19. Added additional evasion bonuses on Easy difficulty. In theory this should result in a little bit more cinematic battles where the player is much harder to be actually killed. Respite action is also available every turn on this difficulty.

So what I wanted to accomplish with all these changes was to kill the universal playstyle of just maxing weapon skill while using a weapon with the lowest stamina consumption possible. Now various weapons should feel much more distinct with ligher ones unable to deal damage through medium and heavy armor. While heavier ones will be able to deal tremendous damage at the cost of considerable energy consumption.

而说到《中阴》的世界观以及故事内容,
2B会首先给到基础需求方向,俺再用各种妄想去填充补完XD
就像此前的宣传语所提到的“志怪冒险”一样,
《中阴》的故事也将以类似小型公路片的探索风格来呈现,不同的区域其场景风格也将有不同特色,是一个很大的看点!
而在历经这么一番历险后,咱们的主角也将直面过去和现在,进而选择通往未来的道路——
万事万物皆有代价,这份代价却又并非总是等价交换。
失去的事物不会复返,而每一次选择,都将引导向那或许并非唯一的结局。
