We are getting closer and closer to the holiday that is Halloween, and in connection with this, Dracula has arrived in his castle throne room! 🧛🏻♂️ Are you curious to find out what spooky novelties have arrived in the game, along with the king of darkness? 👀
We invite you to read the next devlog 👇
Dracula in the Throne Room 👑
As befits a throne room, it will be a kind of "command center" for our castle. What can we do from here exactly, you ask? Behold:
🌳 From the throne room you will be able to access Dracula’s tech tree 💰 See your inventory and manage your equipment 🌃 And send Dracula to scour the areas around Transylvania!
Another amazing thing we managed to implement into the game is a task system! 🔍
This is a fully working quest system that replaces the old static log page! You will not only be able to track the progress of the main quest, but also building quests and side quests involving some of the main characters in the game.
This is definitely a big part of this milestone that we are very proud of 🤩
What else are we working on ❓
Castle employees now have tiers and a satisfaction system, which means they can be upgraded! Everything will, of course, depend on properly maintained conditions. You’ll need to keep them fed and plump to get the most out of them 😎

Hi, I'm Joe, the lead developer for the tiny team creating Hobble - a hiking game for 1-8 players where you play as a senior citizen setting off on a bucket list trip across many trails around the world.
Whenever possible in the future I'll be posting updates with more details about the game, showcasing specific features and game-play elements but today I want to share with you why we're making Hobble and what to expect from the game in general.
With Hobble I wanted to create a game about the things I enjoy most in life - hiking and co-op video games! Players will feel all the emotions of exploring the outdoors - joy, fear, calm and wonder for a cost less than the price of a pint of beer. This is a game with a sandbox feel accompanied by clear, simple and enjoyable objectives.
What to Expect
Your adventure begins with a bus ride! You'll be transported to the trail you want to hike by bus, enjoying scenic views and the chance to chat with your fellow hikers before setting off to explore.
There are multiple trails to travel in Hobble, of varying sizes and difficulties - with the largest map giving you a massive 64 square kilometres to traverse! If that sounds a bit overwhelming, don't worry - you'll have a guidebook (complete with a map) and various hiking tools to assist you on your journey. Items such as compasses, head torches and radios will help you find your way around and stay in touch with your friends.
There is some tough terrain to navigate on these trails and reminiscent of old school Counter-Strike climbing maps, you will find yourself performing feats of terrifying free-form parkour. You'll be jumping between rocks on different faces, balancing on fallen trees bridging perilous drops and swimming across fast flowing streams. On your journey you'll find checkpoints in the form of cairns, so if you meet an untimely end attempting these dangerous moves you can re-spawn and try again without having to return to the start of the map.
If you're looking for gentler activities for your senior citizen to perform in Hobble, then you may want to use the trusty camera they start with to snap some photos of the various wildlife and flora you can discover on the trails.
The Team
I mentioned earlier that we're a tiny team working on Hobble - there's me, Joe - I'm the creative director and main developer, Tom - who is our environment artist and Steve, our audio engineer. This core team also receives help from Andrew - a developer and AI specialist, Pablo - a UI developer and our community manager, Alastair.
Thanks for checking out this update and for all the support you've already shown us with wishlists, retweets and word of mouth about the game.
