There was an issue with Room 6's door not saving its unlocked state properly, so to fix that I had to make some changes that may cause it to become locked again if you haven't finished the doll head puzzle.
But don't worry! If it's locked but you've already used the key on it (so it's not in your inventory), the Room 6 key should spawn again in its original location to be picked up again, and next time you save the game everything should work correctly.
For any further issues, feel free to post here or to email me directly at spacezetagames@gmail.com. This includes sending me save files that may have become "stuck" due to any game-breaking bug so I can try to fix it for you.
- Fixed player character reaction to grenade explosion, camera shaking added - Added voice acting for story characters throughout the main story (WIP) - Chapter 4 now ends correctly - added previously missing level 'Gam-Palace' - Fixed bugs in some dialogues, due to which the conversation went to the uncorrect lines - Improved the first appearance of the agent at the 'Market' level - Fixed minor technical bugs

This event will run through November 7th. Have fun! 🎃
Huh, that was weird. It was almost like...
...Nevermind. It's probably nothing. Go get some Halloween candy in DemonCrawl! And don't forget - you can still earn rewards from previous Halloween events if you missed those the first time around.
Hello friends, I'd like to introduce you to the first DLC for Video Game Fables - "Nightmare Arena"!
Aru, Nate, and Tator are whisked away to a dimension of nightmares where they meet the Scream Screen and the Concierge. Enter the Nightmare Arena and battle through over 40 challenging battles with stronger, twisted nightmare versions of enemies you've encountered. There may even be a familiar face at the end as an incredibly difficult superboss!
Get awesome prizes including new summon skills that deal damage to all enemies. You can use these items and skills in the normal world as well!
Battles have a limited amount of XP you can spend so you can't just grind your way to the top. Guess it's time to get good!
Along with this DLC there will be a free update to the base game that includes a huge new feature...A STICKER COLLECTION! You can collect stickers from enemies, view them, and place them on pages in a sticker book.
You don't have to have the DLC to obtain and use stickers, but you can only get stickers from the nightmare enemies in the DLC.
Coming out October 25, 2022! (Requires Video Game Fables base game to play.)
Once you have purchased the DLC, restart the game.
On the main menu of the game, on the right side, there will be a sign for the DLC. If the DLC has properly been detected there will be a text box above that sign that says "DLC ACTIVATED!".
If you purchased the DLC and still do not have that "DLC ACTIVATED!" indicator, close the game, completely exit Steam, and restart Steam.
At any time after you have finished the first dungeon in the game, speak to the innkeeper in Castleton. If the DLC is detected a cutscene will begin, introducing you to the DLC.

We’ve still got a lot cooking but wanted to provide an update in anticipation of more in-depth staff AI behavior.
Staff + UI
Staff UI has been updated to reflect some current stats.
New UI for hiring staff and viewing current employees.
Added a hireable staff talent pool. When the game starts, there are a limited number of staff that you can hire from each category (security is still not implemented yet).
There are varying qualities of staff determined by two new stats: mobility and efficiency. Mobility affects how fast staff can walk and efficiency affects how fast tasks are completed such as cooking, cleaning, and repairing.
Staff now have daily wages, and their overall quality affects how much they have to be paid, with some variance. Hire costs are also affected by this.
The talent pool is refreshed every day at midnight.
Staff from previous saves will have default values but future staff hired will be part of this randomized talent pool.
We would like to add a leveling and unique trait system for staff but they are currently not implemented yet. As of now we just have a couple placeholder non-functional traits.
Performance
Starting the game from the menu should be faster now.
