In the past, we've adjusted for the impact events have had on the rates by tweaking the bonuses that we use during breeding events, however, those tweaks lead to unfavorable circumstances on maps that aren't Genesis Part 2, so during breeding events, we'll be disabling these mission buffs specifically as not to affect the bonuses on other maps.

We’re back with another ARK tale from the past. In today’s story, we relive the tale of our first bout with the Island Dragon Boss.

It’s a rainy day on the ARK as our tribe is gathered around the obelisk. There’s a nip in the air and an ominous feeling surrounds the tribe as we line our Rex army up on the obelisk. Tribe Admin A says the situation looks bleak and isn’t hopeful for a successful outcome. Tribe morale isn’t very high so the tribe leader gives us a war speech before placing the remaining artifacts needed to start the fight in the terminal. As the bubble starts to surround our creatures the feeling of hope begins to flood over the tribe as we are all confident after our leaders wonderful speech, but little did we know, things weren’t going to be so easy. As we enter the arena and see the beast flying overhead, we mount our rexes and our tribe leader takes her position on the yuty. The creature flies around for a short while before finally landing and engaging with our creatures. We tear into the Dragon with tooth and claw as our Rexes are full of energy thanks to the Yuty. Little did we know at the time being the ignorant people we are that the dragon had a fire breath attack that dealt percentage based HP. As it flees to the skies once more, we realize our Rexes are already below half health, while the dragon itself is only about 20% down on HP. As we are planning for this unthought circumstance, disaster strikes. Swarms of Dimorphs and Pteras rain from the sky, claiming the lives of 2 of our tribe members in the process. We manage to defend from them as the Dragon lands down upon us and unleashes it’s Fire breath once more. Our rexes begin to fall one by one as we continue to try and salvage our futile attempt at beating this beast. He claims the lives of all but one Rex with which I am mounted on, and the yuty our tribe leader is controlling. Stunned, we resort to working together to try and handle the next swarm of minions the guardian has summoned on us. As we take them down he lands once more, striking a critical final blow in our forces as he wiped the remainder of us off the ARK.. alas, we were utterly defeated, with our creatures gone and little hope that we could be the beast, things didn’t look very hopeful. But we will have our revenge. The tribes will is stronger than anything the ARK can throw at us.

So the patch was successful this week. Last week I just did a lot of work behind the scenes without presentables.



When you do puzzles at home, you want to get the frames around it before filling inside.

The majority of the frame is up, and we'll have more interesting encounters than Generic Anime Boy moving forward.



The techs we added:
*Ability to use art as portraits to do discussions/hailing.

*Ability to play cutscene like introductions with text / voice.

*Some humor in the fill in of using this, but not long lasting as it will become when AdLib random sentences go in!

*Ability to do battle and skin ships.

*Ability to do multi factioned space battles (more than just player vs all enemies, sometimes random fights between factions unrelated to you can go down).

*Inventory is half way in, but not full, hopefully next Friday.

Then proceedurally generated 420 billion galaxy patch & multiplayer. We're only a couple hundred hours away from full techs. Then we just fill in the frame with content.



We're at the point where patches start having fun value to look in and see how it goes. We're nearing the point where we're a full fledged MMO and a credible competitor to any MMO out there with techs like 100x-1000x as many players in the same zone. We should be able to break the world record for most players in a space combat system easy. I think the game that holds the world record for most players in space combat is only like 6700 ish. I have done 9000 rendered at 60 FPS, and my networking is O( LOG(N) ) instead of traditional O ( N ^ 2), so networking is no limiter. Lets aim to make a stab at breaking the world record, and not just breaking it, but obliterating it! I'll need people who want to play, so power up your clash base now... It will help you progress in the MMO to have a high level clash base.

Class basics

Scout
Stripped down to its bare essentials, This is a blazing fast reconnaissance mech built to get in and out of situations quickly while using the environment to its advantage. Though this mech can only carry one weapon its maneuverability makes it a formattable foe.

Assault
Versatile and built to handle any situation. This mech is the bread and butter of most battles as it is very adaptable and well rounded to any combat need.

Heavy
Armored to the teeth and built to hold strategic positions. This Fat boy may not move fast but can take on multiple mechs at one time and change the entire tide of war by simply occupying key locations

Updated Repair system
Each mech class has different amounts of repair nodes depending on its weight class. Scout class has 2, Assault class has 4, and Heavy class has 6.

Every mech has been outfitted with an updated repair touch screen to help better manage this new mechanic.

Mech damage
Mechs now display external cosmetic damage giving critical information to pilots as they choose to either engage or retreat for repairs.
