Since the first versions of the game I always felt that the Reclaim the Sea was missing ways of disturbing your enemy, and also in return things that could mess with your plan in a combat. Many feedbacks from the demo have confirmed this. There were already several mechanics like fire or holes, or the fight for the distance between ships. And they have been rebalanced many times since the first version, but now I have added a direct way of denying the enemy the use of one its room: to damage it!
Rooms now have health points and take damage when taking hits, thus reducing their efficiency or completely shutting them down on low HP. All existing weapons have been updated to offer some room damage, some more than others. This new mechanic also opens new fight strategies and new weapons possibilities.
And speaking of weapons, the Thunder mortar is the first weapon specially designed to damage enemy ship rooms. In a few shots it will shut them down, but in return it does not inflict any damage to the ship hull.
Hey everybody! Just in time for the Dreamhack Festival on Steam, a BIG new Infinity Girl demo just dropped. It's basically a free mini roguelike at this point: 7 levels of hypnotic, high-speed goodness. I'm using these demo updates to test new features that will go into the game's alpha version -- would love your feedback! There is a LOT new stuff in this version including:
A new set of outdoor levels (which feature a slick new procedural level generation system that lets me place obstacles, rails, coins and other objects across huge spaces)
Mario Kart-style drifting, including a "drift blast" when you let go of the drift button (I'm biased but this is my favorite addition -- so much fun to drift and boost around these levels)
A new "Beat the clock" feature in every level that encourages you to go fast (by rewarding you with coins for getting to the goal more quickly).
Less float-y physics and less slippery handling
A second, advanced tutorial level to teach drifting, air banking and more
Better controls (including smooth left and right banking when you hold the L/R triggers -- this helps landing tricky jumps)
A few quality of life improvements for the streamers out there: volume controls and a windowed mode
Performance improvements, especially reductions in level loading time
Wider levels across the entire game: More space to drift, and less chances to fall to your death ☠️
As always, let me know what you think of the new additions in the Infinity Girl discord. Thanks!
We've gotten feedback that the tournament taking place on Friday is making participation impossible for a lot of our North American players. This is because it takes place during what is normally working hours.
So, we're dropping Friday from the tournament. It will now take place November 19th - 20th. As a result, signups will be restricted to 64 players.
There is still room left so don't hesitate to join!
There is a new patch available for 2022.1. It fixes some of the most common issues reported so far. Changelog:
Graphics:
- Fix: Citizens walking on the streets in port were missing in Wilhelmshaven and Vigo. - Fix: After moving the camera close to a destroyer in one of Wilhelmshaven's dry docks an underwater effect was appearing on the camera. - Fix: German trucks were driving on the streets of Vigo.
Technical:
- Fix: Crash to desktop after assigning to officers more sailors than it was possible to assign at once on the squads screen. - Fix: If a quick save was created on an incompatible version of the game, then after pressing "Quick load" keyboard shortcut the game is no longer trying to load it, because it would cause a crash to desktop. - Fix: Bergen game states should be now smaller after saving and load faster, there was some unnecessary data saved in.
Crew:
- Fix: Officers could sometimes spawn on one of the lamps in Wilhelmshaven and weren't responsive.
UI:
- Fix: Numerical keyboard shortcuts weren't displayed correctly on the keyboard settings screen.

It's time to revisit a revamped Sumersgate! We've made the map a bit more condensed so the action is more frequent and the travel times are lower. The map should be the same size as Kalinsk now.

On November 5th, you'll download an update from Steam
PvP Beta Test will take place Saturday, November 5th from 3PM EDT to 5 PM EDT. You won't be able to join servers before then.
This beta is to test our revamped Sumersgate, gameplay improvements, AI improvements, and more
Servers will have a certain number of AI per team. As the server fills up, players will take the server spots from the AI. AI will fight alongside players to attack/defend objectives. The AI is in beta and is definitely a work in progress! Request access on Steam now
