Quill's route has been released.

There is nothing in particular you need to do to get to his route. It unlocks naturally with a specific choice in the common route (choose to hide instead of run when giving the option during the sequence where the MC is in the abandoned district.)

While it shouldn't be required, please consider starting a new game to begin his route.

There shouldn't be any save compatibility issues, however, there were minor changes to some of the other routes (primarily typo fixes or minor wording changes for continuity) as well. If you do run into a game-breaking error after loading an old save, please start a new game and see if the error still occurs before you report it.

Reuben's route is the next route I am working to complete. It is currently about 60% drafted and my focus for the next month or two will be getting it drafted and fully edited.

  • Chinook Auto-Unloading (Trial): this is a test to always have chinooks auto-unload their troops when they land. Works nicely in combination with multi-waypaths where they return to e.g. the original destination when unloaded. Please provide feedback!
  • UI: Indicator "No Power" added if a structure isn't connected to power.
  • UI: not showing parachute in UI for troops (only showing the parachute on the map when parachuting down).
  • UI: a more detailed popup for selected units can be opened showing speed, attack and defense parameters etc.
  • UI: each faction now has a listing that shows all (1) its troops and (2) its structures.
  • UI: tutorial info panel now animated with '>' pointing to the location.

  • Keyboard Shortcuts F01-F24: for map build menu, i.e. to build on the map.

  • Keyboard: shortcuts 'M' and 'N' for chat removed as they interfere with other key bindings. Use ENTER (or ENTER+SHIFT) instead.

  • Modding: spawning now possible without unit inside. For example, spawning a commando robot now possible without commander.
  • Modding: please apply the latest bundle.config and re-upload the maps to have the latest functionality incl. icons integrated - Thanks!
  • Modding: option to set an AI difficulty level when testing a scenario.
  • Graphics: slight performance improvement rendering scaled animations (by not trying to crop).
  • Graphics: improved compression of animations for frames that have the same color (combined).
  • Graphics: improved layout of UI elements on small screens (also works better on 1280x720 for e.g. recordings).
  • Sound FX: audio effects for targeting are only repeated if (1) a unit or group has stopped moving or (2) a new selection was initiated.
  • Manual: explained that multiplayer games can potentially be deleted by the moderators (e.g. ganging in non-gang games, farming of rating points etc.).
  • Manual: explained in more detail that circumventing the spam filter via modified binary might result in appropriate actions against a player.
  • Admin Guide: the information how to access the moderator inbox has been moved from the pinned post into the admin guide. It's the "Moderator Email" section.
  • Discord Game SDK: integrated so the status is correctly displayed in Discord. There is also an option to spectate or join games now.

  • Language: texts updated to better describe what certain structures do (e.g. need harversters for ore refinery).
  • API: added more details when the API for "play" and "game" gets queried.
  • API: functionality "ro-enrol" added to query users as to which "play" and "game they are enrolled in, including their status (e.g. if turn was entered).
  • API: manual updated with latest information how to access "ro-enrol" for plays and games.
  • Steam Binary | IMPORTANT: I updated the Steam binary to better support Mac OS on M1 CPU. It's possible that the update inside Steam doesn't properly work, especially on Windows. Please uninstall the game first, then reboot and then reinstall if you are having problems. In some cases, also delete "jre" directory inside the game's folder inside Steam before reinstalling it. Sorry for the troubles.
  • Launcher: better auto-detection how the game is launched (e.g. itch or gj).
  • Maintenance: logging improved to proper track socket servers to verify the properly exit.
  • Maintenance: updated to Google Billing 5.0.0 (from 4.0.0).
  • Maintenance: updated Droid to version 13 (API 33).
  • Maintenance: reducing jars required when running the status bar daemon (less likely to not work).

  • Bugfix: intro mission tutorial not working properly if less than 3 battle battle tanks were fully built before the last 4.+ one was constructed.
  • Bugfix: connection error to Steam API prevented players from logging in (API call rewritten from direct socket call to URL connection).
  • Bugfix: no trying to unload planes and helicopters when a carrier or battle ship move to the coast.
  • Bugfix Crashes: potential fix for crashes when a game is exited to quickly (before it really started).

Hello everyone!

It's finally the time everyone's been waiting for - the Fawn VA patch is now live on Steam!

Here's a quick list of changes:

  • Fawn route audio implemented
  • Audio adjusted in all other parts of the game
  • Some CGs adjusted
  • Settings adjusted
  • Minor text inconsistencies adjusted

We're finally at the point where the game is fully voiced! It's taken a long time, and along the way we've had many, MANY people assisting us with getting the voice acting complete.

This wouldn't have been doable without the help of our audio editor, Cats on a Lilypad Studios. Check them out on Twitter if you've enjoyed The Divine Speaker - I think their games will be right up your alley.

A quick note: You may experience issues with your save files if they are within Fawn's route. We've made major changes to the line identifiers that make our voice acting work, so old saves can be unstable. If you have any problems with your saves, start a new game and skip through to where you were up to.

Hey all!

This is hopefully the last little patch before Timeless Tyrants goes live. Thank you to those sharing bugs and feedback. That has helped out so much!

Notes

-Bug Fix: Some auto job settings/info would not update when changing rooms/jobs.
-Bug Fix: Floating trees. Ya.
-Bug Fix: Entities having multiple companions. I believe this was causing some extra issues with entities joining rooms properly.
-Bug Fix: Children weren't being added to the family tab in the entity overlay.
-Bug Fix: Manual saves right at the moment that the auto-save occurs threw an error.
-Bug Fix: Some entity scenarios weren't saving/loading.
-Bug Fix: Sometimes newly acquired Ancients wouldn't start their dialogue for being freed from an immortality tomb.
-Bug Fix: Sometimes names weren't inserted into dialogue text, appearing as {@0} instead of the name.
-Bug Fix: Auto saves could happen when selection input was active, and could cause issues.
-Bug Fix: Light was not being removed when a light prop was.
-Bug Fix: Hatches wouldn't allow vertical pathing if a platform was below.
-Bug Fix: Water plant job couldn't be re-added to farm/arboretum.
-Bug Fix: Some names wouldn't update in the entity list for the entity info window.
-Bug Fix: Liquids item category was being added to stockpiles by default when it is not used in-game (yet).
-Bug Fix: Several tutorial arrows had incorrect positions.
-Bug Fix: Spellbooks were built by the chaos construct but unlocked with the arcane study. Now, they will be unlocked by the arcane study and built there. As well, the lectern of knowledge is now unlocked there too.
-Tuning: Added some dialogue for discovering immortality tombs to communicate that players should use the free job on stasis crystals.
-Tuning: Increased the time it takes for trees to mature.
-Polish: Added feedback to job buttons in the toolbar menu to indicate when the settlement doesn't have anyone with the required skill.
-Polish: Added additional hotkeys to skill toggles to enable/disable/reset all skills for an entity.

I might put out one very small patch after this, but we'll see. If you see anything crazy, let me know!

The Tale of Onogoro - a_tsuruta
The Festival of International Virtual and Augmented Reality Stories (FIVARS) has selected The Tale of Onogoro as an Official Selection.
It will be exhibited at FIVARS in Fall 2022, which will be held in Toronto, Canada from October 28th to November 16th, 2022.
It is the only Japanese content to be selected as an Official Selection.
