A new community map vote is coming, and the suggestions are now open! If you weren't with us for the last one in July 2021, the Mini Golf Course, Gnome Fountain and Steam Locomotive were all community suggestions. All of the ideas were shortlisted by our design team and then voted on in a knock-out style tournament to be made in the game! Which is now happening again!
Please note, like last time, jobs take a long time to develop. The new levels voted in will come in the future, but we will also be announcing the next lot of planned maps soon; keep your eyes peeled. There are lots currently being made!
To submit an idea, create a thread in the 'job-suggestions' section:
There is a guide in there, but in short if you already see your suggestion, rather than creating a new thread, use the reactions to show support or comment in that thread if you have any specifics on what that idea might look like.
We will keep this open for a few weeks, then collate them all into a list. Our design team will look at how these ideas could be developed and how popular they may be to shortlist for the knockout style vote. The votes will take place in a few weeks and we'll share more instructions when that is ready!
Thanks in advance for your suggestions :)

Unfortunately, we have been too busy in the last few weeks to continue working on updates for Hell Pie... You know, with things like surviving gamescom in an alcoholic stupor, counting the massive amounts of money we earned with Hell Pie, ... The usual (indie game dev) stuff.
But (surprisingly) somehow we made it! And so I proudly present the Hell Pie update version 1.1.3:
Added a Squirrel outfit for Nate and a Bee outfit for Nugget
Added Superhero outfits for Nate and Nugget
Club Luxoria collision fix (it was possible to get stuck behind a toilet)
Various dialogue fixes
Improved sharpness for various textures
Various minor level design fixes
Compared to the last update, the changes here are quite manageable, that's true.... But hey, with this update you get two damn cool new outfits:
And finally - for all those of you that can't exist without the catchy and calm tunes of the Hell Pie soundtrack anymore - there is a good news: As of now, the Hell Pie soundtrack is available here on Steam. So, treat yourself:
Fixes the TVs which weren't playing the VHS correctly.
Fixes the Smiler so it can walk.
Adds a new entity: an ASync employee who was consumed by the sentient bacteria while still in their suits. It has taken over their body and reanimated their corpse.
I'll see if there's anything else I have time for.
This update should be out between September 3rd and September 5th.
With your support, we finally have an Early Access date! We appreciate your continued support! Now, I have compiled answers to some of the questions we have received so far today.
Are you thinking of implementing a system that allows messages to be sent out in a speech bubble?
We are looking into implementing this.
Can I use my own 3D models and characters?
Of course you can import and use your own data for 3D/2D graphics and sound. However, there are rules for creating materials and formats that can be used, so please follow those rules when creating your materials. Please refer to the recent article and the manual for the rules.
About 3D/2D character creation tools
.At least as of EA, there are no character creation tools of any kind.
Can the battle system be customized?
You can customize it using Common Events and Battle Events.
Can I legally use the SMILE GAME BUILDER DLC?
Users who have already purchased the DLC for SMILE GAME BUILDER can use it without any problems. However, you will need to export it from SMILE GAME BUILDER itself and import it into RPG Developer Bakin.
Can I use game files from SMILE GAME BUILDER?
It is possible to use SMILE GAME BUILDER game files in RPG Developer Bakin. However, they are not fully compatible and may not work exactly the same way.
Can I use data from Effekseer?
Yes, you can. You can use data created with the latest version 1.62e.
Is the Steam Workshop supported?
Yes, we support it. You can share game data you are working on or publish your completed game.
Is there a system for organizing resources, etc.?
We have implemented a system for tagging resources and narrowing down the list by tag.
The feedback we are receiving on the threads is being used as a reference for development. We cannot respond to all of them at the start of EA, but we are listening to your feedback and considering our plans for the future.

We're in the last stages of making the Alpha 0.06 release. Only things left are some decoration models, the fire extinguisher and loads of testing, of course. There's also two new infection types, what those will be will become clear in the update post next week.
Expected release date is the end of next week, so we were thinking of doing some Twitch and/or Steam streams together with you astronauts that weekend. Youtuber/streamer 'Rakoona' is also planning to do a Q&A with us as well.

The next Barotrauma update is coming in early October, and among other things, it will include a big change under the hood: we’re updating our .NET runtime to a new version, and this should yield significant performance gains. Combined with the ongoing optimization work, the .NET runtime update will help to make the game run considerably more smoothly for most players.
GeForce NOW
Another exciting change is bringing Barotrauma to Nvidia’s cloud gaming platform GeForce NOW. While this will have no impact on those who can run Barotrauma on their systems currently, it will open possibilities for players on officially unsupported systems to get into playing. We’ve received a number of requests about this over the years and are happy to be making it happen now – you’ll find Barotrauma on GFN in the coming weeks.
To MacOS players
Unfortunately the mentioned runtime update comes with a downside for players on older Mac systems: because the .NET 6 runtime does not support MacOS older than 10.15, Barotrauma will not be able to support versions 10.13 and 10.14 either, and we need to raise our official minimum technical requirements to match.
We’re very sorry to be cutting support for systems we have previously supported, but this change is inevitable: as the runtime is a core technology that the game relies on, and it has already dropped support for these systems on its end, we will have to follow suit sooner or later. We’ve decided to go through with the runtime update now, while still in early access, rather than later when it might affect a larger number of players.
[h5]Compatibility branch[/h5] To help the affected Mac players continue having access to Barotrauma, we’re creating a compatibility branch which allows MacOS 10.13 and 10.14 users to keep playing the current version of the game. To our knowledge, 10.14 users should also be able to update their systems to stay compatible.
Additionally, the GeForce NOW access should help bridge the gap for players on the affected operating systems, and we hope these measures put together will take the worst of the edge off. MacOS 10.15 or newer, or other operating systems, should not experience any difficulties with the new runtime.
We’ll be back with more news about the update over the coming weeks. Stay tuned, and let us know in the comments if you have any questions!
