Recently, I’ve been quite busy, which is related to the upcoming PAX West 2022 in Seattle. As I said a few weeks ago, I’ll be there with Flooded (more information and booth number HERE). Yet - sometimes you have to slow down and remind yourself that even small steps bring us closer to our goal. It’s called progress.
The simplest facilitators of it are: clear rules, a vision of the finish line, and a reward system. All three are in Flooded. How? Inspired by strategy games with which I fell in love as a kid - by adding the eras system.
Up the ladder...
In Flooded, the gameplay can be divided into four stages - the Era of Mining (highlighting the extraction of ores and search for new deposits), the Era of Electricity (adding electricity production), the Era of Expansion (focusing on placing the buildings that can be placed on the ocean), and the New Era (allowing to complete remaining tasks).
Each of them increases the number of possibilities that we have and provides tasks to structure the level and help the player. For example - entering the Era of Electricity allows us to construct buildings related to... Yes, you guessed - electricity.
Closer to the end
As I mentioned, the main factor behind this shape of the game is the desire to engage the player. We all love when our efforts are rewarded (just remember the satisfaction of a D- at school)! What’s more, many games introduce intermediate points in larger missions - no one wants to keep players without gratification for too long, as it may negatively affect their enthusiasm.
Luckily, the genre and form of Flooded make it possible to weave such a system in a very natural way. While playing, we feel that we have a tangible influence on how the world is created, a world that seems to be heading towards a wet end.
Light cruiser Mikhail Kutuzov is the last Soviet ship wielding big guns. The ship comes to the game as part of the upcoming War Thunder update in her latest upgraded version, featuring fast-firing anti-missile guns.

The most famous Project 68 cruiser Mikhail Kutuzov comes to the game as a part of the upcoming major update, and the ship will be presented in the version after the last upgrade. Together with the premium Zheleznyakov and the researchable Sverdlov, the new ship will become the best light cruiser in the entire research tree of the Soviet bluewater fleet.
Project 68 ships are well known to seasoned captains: decent firepower, excellent air defense and good mobility. Mikhail Kutuzov is a little different from her sisterships. Let’s see the ship in details!
A large modernization program initiated in 1970 aimed for a further improvement of the air defense of Soviet cruisers. 8 paired AK-230 mounts with rapid-fire 30mm guns appeared on the platforms around the bow superstructure, which supplemented the 37mm auto cannons familiar to you from Sverdlov and Zheleznyakov. The new guns, although somewhat inferior in caliber, are remotely controlled and provide an amazing density of fire at short and medium fire distances - each barrel spits 1,000 rounds per minute! The universal 100mm guns remain effective as before: their high-explosive fragmentation rounds do a good job of destroying light ships and boats, and their radio-fuzed shells are ideal for destroying aircraft at considerable distances.
The crew of the cruiser has somewhat decreased - 1057 men against 1270 on the Sverdlov, which in the game realities can be attributed to the ship’s cons. During the modernization, torpedo tubes were also dismantled - another thing to missing from her sisters. But everything else, for which we love the Project 68 ships, is still here! The main battery of 12 152mm guns in four turrets works perfectly both against destroyers and other cruisers. The shells lack the destructive power to effectively damage battlecruisers and battleships, but thanks to the high muzzle velocity of shells and smoother ballistics, it is very easy to fire at longer distances at softer targets. Mikhail Kutuzov, like other Project 68 cruisers, has a special ballistic deck that increases the ship's survivability against cruiser-caliber shells.

After talking with the statue before receiving the statue quest, the problem of the statue quest not proceeding has been fixed by today's update.

There is an issue where Terranova locks the game that has been causing players frustration, which we'd like to show you how to fix.
Cannot Proceed Past April 2004
In April 2004, there is the possibility for the player to get locked out of their chat with EphemeralSmile666, and become unable to proceed.
You can avoid this by following these steps:
- EphemeralSmile666 will start a conversation with you with the chat "Hey T, you're online!" - Do not respond to the chat. Wait until EphemeralSmile666 finishes typing completely. - EphemeralSmile666 will send you another chat: "I wanted to tell you this in person, but I didn't get the chance yet..." - Continue playing as normal :)
If you are locked out, please reload your game from an autosave. DO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR PREVIOUS SAVE IF YOU ARE LOCKED. Save in a separate file instead.
You can access the autosave from the Start Menu. Go to Save or Save and Quit. You will see this screen:
Chats/Posting is Locked
Sometimes on other months, posting in blogs and chats are locked and the player cannot end the month. In this case as well, please reload your game from an autosave. DO NOT OVERWRITE YOUR PREVIOUS SAVE IF YOU ARE LOCKED. Save in a separate file instead.
I tried reloading the autosave multiple times. It's not working!
Most of the time reloading the autosave works to fix these issues, but if it is not working for you, please report this in our bug report thread or contact us on Terranova Discord through the #game-feedback channel. Please note our server is 18+ only.
