AUDIO BUG
We have had a major audio bug since our last update in July. This impacts the music. Music in the first area is missing and the music during the Maya boss fight is missing as well. There might be more areas impacted.

Currently, we think we have fixed the bug but are unable to push up the changes just yet. We are bundling this fix alongside our major August update that will include the level editor.

LOCALISATION
We are also aware that some of the languages localised in the demo has quality issues.

The final release of the game will have professional localisation done. Most of the dialogue in the demo will get reviewed as well so there might be changes here and there too.

DEMO SAVE FILE COMPATIBILITY TO FULL RELEASE
The major update coming in August will be erasing current demo save files. We plan for this to be the last time this happens. Rusted Moss was never meant to be such a full game and was meant to be a shorter experience (basically the initial scope was the current demo's length plus a little bit more). Because of this, we have some growing pains. This major update coming in August will allow us to add in more rooms in the final version (we are up to 600 rooms right now!)

We hope to keep demo save files compatible with the final release so that you'll be able to pick up and play the final release without having to replay the demo areas.

That being said, there might be dialogue changes + NPCs added in the final release that will appear in the demo areas. We hope to keep the demo as up to date as possible but these additional dialogue might only get added to the demo closer to release date anyway. So if you're worried about missing any of it, I'd say to replay the full release or play the demo closer to release. I think I'll make another announcement for when the demo has finalised dialogue. Open to hear people's feedback on it because we could also just hard reset save files again once the demo is "finalised".

- pilot quests! Get 7 stars in daily missions and unlock the long range radio. Send your pilots on dangerous (or almost none) quests to mine coins, fuel, and batteries to charge the compensator (new consumable)
- now you can have 3 different game profiles; you can change them in settings
- added the ability to change your name in the main menu; also supports different colors <color=#ff8888>Captain</color>
- procedural threats can have the property "spawns a threat when appears"
- +1 appearance for random internal threat
- alpaca now interferes with the creation of random threats! (this didn't work before due to a bug)
Bug fixes:

Balance changes:
- random external threats that cause the tactics die to roll now have a damage bonus
- Interfector commander's ability to "copy someone from the last roll" no longer takes into account the re-rolls of observers by the "Mind Control" module and the ability of the pilot Dr. M
- the "Reusable" store item can no longer issue an observer die
- each compensator ability can now only be used once per round (yes, you can now charge the compensator multiple times per round if you have enough batteries)
Other changes:
- boss cards are now different from the usual ones, the big boss star icon has been removed (as it sometimes interfered with reading the description of the card)
- male and female characters got their own text typing sounds during dialogues
- improved animations of sabotage at the beginning of the battle
- tips for building your deck are now always shown, and not only when there is no deck built
- names of random threats can now contain characters "Ĥ","Ŝ","Š","Ĉ","Ž","Č","Ƶ"
- now "Saving ..." is displayed when exiting the main menu and exiting the game

Hey all!

The next experimental patch is now available. This can be considered the "second part" of v2.0.3, and it fixes up most of the bugs present in that version, alongside improving the upgrade system slightly.

This patch does not add anything new to it other than the card re-design. If you want the specifics you can find the patch notes in-game, but there really isn't that much exciting about it. However this should make the upgrade system feel a bit more complete, and a good base to build on from here on out.


Phase 1 is now complete!
This will most likely be the last "Phase 1" update! The next patch will be phase 2, and it will introduce a LOT more of what's coming in the black market. After that, there may or may not be a phase 3 depending on the stability of the game. There's also a small chance I might hold back the trials feature, and release that as it's own separate update in the VERY near future. (to give myself more time to flesh it out) V2 is not reliant on Trials, and I can adjust black market prices to reflect that.

Thank you all for an incredible launch! We've been working hard on getting bug fixes for the bugs that have been reported so far, as well as potentially implementing some of things yall have given feedback on.

Today we are releasing the Friends System which will allow you add friends, message friends, and invite friends to games! We have also made changes to the kill sounds we added in our last patch to help keep the cool factor they added without being a tool to identify killers. Be sure to check out the full list of changes below!

New Features
• Now introducing Friends! You and your buddies can now be Friends, allowing you to message them and invite them to play with you!
• Added an attack sound for Pirate’s kill.
• Added ability for Prosecutor to text chat during prosecution the same as the Defendant.

Breaking Changes
• Changed the format for deck manager saves to invalidate old save files. This was necessary due to changes in the numbering used within the save files. You will need to recreate your saved game setups. Apologies for that, but we are still in Beta at this point and occasionally we need to break something to move the game forward.

Improvements
• Generic Kill Sounds - Refactored kill sounds based upon player feedback. The new way that kill sounds will work is that if you are either the killer or the victim, you will hear the specialized kills sounds specific to the killer’s skin. If you are not the killer or the victim, but are simply a witness to a murder (even one on the edge of line-of-sight), you will only hear a generic kill sound. This means that you will not be able to identify the killer based solely on the sound the killer makes.
• In the Role Deck screen, the Townie and Traitor basic roles now sort to the top of the available role list so they can be quickly banned without having to search through the list of available roles.
• Banned roles will now display a ban icon on the role card in the available roles list.
• Improved layout of dropdowns on Host Options page.
• Improved pathing to gallows.
• Removed the duplicated timer display during the Listen phase of trial (both standard and Prosecution).
• In games where the Show Names host option has been set to false, certain roles such as Psychic and Seer will no longer see player in-game names in the HUD stackable notifications messages for their roles. Instead, they will now properly see the character (skin) names.
• Added Shooting Range to minimap.
• Added sound effect to Mayor Reveal.
• Added sound effect to Barkskin shield being used.
• Synchronized bell ring with cinematic and reduced bell sound to play only once rather than four times.
• Refactored Discussion and Trial voting to prevent spam voting (voting for someone, then continually changing vote repeatedly) which could flood the chat log with vote entries and potentially cause lag when opening the chat log. The chat log will now only register the latest changed vote, rather than every changed vote.
• Discussion and Trial voting chat log entries will now say “You” rather than your in-game name on vote log entries.
• Layout improvements on Dispel Magic match runes minigames.
• Improved appearance of skip button on Discussion screen. Dark background and highlight were about 5 pixels off.
• The Ice Storm spell does not slow ghosts, so the HUD Banner text has been slightly tweaked to make it more proper for when ghosts read the message.
• The chat log message for a body being reported will now say where the body was found (if allowed by Host Options settings).
• Fixed HUD Banner message when Medium dies to make it more obvious they have a short time to reveal another player’s role.

Bug Fixes
• Certain abilities such as Speed Boost will now be removed at the end of a game as the player is returned to Lobby phase.
• Fixed Role Deck Manager button to properly open the Role Deck Manager.
• Fixed Role Deck Loader to properly load saved role lists containing multiples of a role.
• The + and - buttons no longer display on the Role buttons in Classic Mode lobby if you are the host. These were improperly displaying even though they were non-functional.
• Fixed an issue where the victim’s role during the Who Died announcement would sometimes use the improper version of the indefinite article a/an.
• After you have completed the Hidden Passage bookcase minigame, subsequent games in the same session will now properly show the books in the bookcase minigame.
• After you have completed the Collect Firewood chop wood minigame, subsequent games in the same session will now properly show the log atop the cutting base again.
• Fixed Seer and Investigator ability use counts decrementing by two rather than one when ability is used on an Illusion.
• When a Seer either Gazes or Intuits an Illusionist’s illusion, the intuit will now always report different factions.
• Fixed the use count label on the Seer’s Intuit ability to start at 2 uses rather than 3.
• Using the Seer’s ability on an Illusionist’s illusion will no longer potentially trigger the earning of achievements such as checking a revealed mayor.
