BETA 0.9i - New Sounds + Fixes

Hello! Things that didn't have noises... have noises now! Some of the noises are too quiet, some of them are probably too loud. I'll be improving that the following patches!

We will have a guaranteed update on Monday and then Wednesday and Friday

A smaller update with QoL and planned balancing might come out before then, but I'm hoping to get some cool content out for the Monday update!

NEW SOUNDS
ALL* sounds are now in! We've got a lot of really cool new sounds - and I hope you have more fun with the game now that the Carpentry King sounds like he ate a wheel of cheese a few hours ago.

TRANSCENDENCE VISUALS
Now all one of your upgrades will show you cool new visuals based on how much you've progressed in their transcendence branch!

Your game now saves a backup save!
But you should also still save your own backup save elsewhere too!

Everything Multiplier: Previous value > 50% of previous value:
Everything Multiplier Multiplier: Doesn't exist > will exist next update
King Exponential Reduction: Absolute trash > 20% Exponential (that's 10 000 easier by the nonillions!)

FIXES
Carpentry ratios are now kept even if you play other professions||, you traitor - how could you?||

Another two fixes to things that were weird when spawning kinglings with the Carpentry King. There's probably still a fix or two left.

Destiny of the World - fiddlyware
This update focuses on tuning the game (especially the difficulty levels). Right now, at "Sergeant" difficulty, the AI has no penalties or advantages. At "Private" and "Corporal" levels, you and your allies receive resource advantages. At higher levels, the enemy AI countries will receive resource advantages.

The game does not provide any combat advantages to the AI, and that won't change. Currently, the AI does not receive any advantages in research or production. I haven't decided whether to change this yet or not.

Is the game too easy or too hard? If you have any feedback, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

New Functionality:
  • Atomic Bombs. Each bomb dropped has a new secondary effect of reducing morale country-wide on the targeted country.
Tuning
  • Gave manpower bonus to easier difficulty levels
  • Adjusted starting resources for difficulty levels
  • Increased percent of manpower available from conquered territories
  • USA AI increased coordination between European and Mediterranean theaters
  • AI should utilize strategic bombers more fully.
  • Improved AI logic for "Island hopping" in the Pacific.
  • Reduced resource gains for conquered territories.
  • Updated USSR AI against Japan.
  • USA AI should be improved late game against Japan.
  • Reduced German factory capacity.
Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed error in Difficulty Bonus/Penalty calculations for countries that start the games as Neutral (USA, Italy, USSR).
  • Fixed crash where minor country surrenders with another friendly minor country's unit present in a surrendering region
  • Fixed bug where theater AI sometimes erroneously picked a target outside its theater.
  • Fixed tooltips on close buttons on research screen.
  • Fixed AI targeting bug, where target required reinforcement via port. Sometimes invalid ports were selected. This caused late game USA AI to stall against Japan.
  • AI was still sending gifts to conquered allied countries.

We're hard at work on our upcoming Summer Event, but we’ve been listening to player feedback on some of our more recent features and wanted to deliver some extra polish
that you’d been asking for! Following this update you’ll have faster Workshop downloads and Twitch connections that will be more reliable and responsive!

Here’s those patch notes in full!


  • Players told us that the Workshop “Download” step could do with some performance and usability improvements, so that’s what we’ve focused development on this week!
  • Previously all players in a lobby had to finish downloading a pack before any players would move onto downloading the next pack, this has been change to allow players to download at their own pace. This should hugely decrease the time before a game starts, especially in lobbies where many Workshop packs are enabled.
  • The "Download taking a while?" message was showing up too soon for players on slow connections downloading large packs, so we’ve extended the time before it appears.
  • Added a "Retry" button which appears at the same time as the "Download taking a while?" message. This allows downloads to be retried without having to return to the lobby and ready up again.
  • Fixed a bug where the ‘verify’ step could take place before downloads were fully complete, causing verification to fail.
  • We’ve added automatic retries when the ‘verifying’ step fails on issues that can be resolved in time, this means verification should be more reliable.
  • The progress bars in the Workshop Download menu are now animated when they increase and decrease instead of suddenly filling. Nifty!

  • Twitch Chat will now attempt to reconnect when connection to Twitch is lost. This may address some problems where Twitch Chat answers would stop being registered by Trivia Tricks mid-game!
  • When playing with Twitch, the timer during Chance Round voting will now use the same timer length as what the host selected for questions instead of defaulting to 25 seconds.
  • The Twitch Chance Round bars now update faster, and have smooth animations when they increase or decrease instead of zipping to the new percentage. Double nifty!
  • Due to a bug discovered just before this patch launched we’ve had to stop Twitch characters throwing bits with donations. We will add this feature back in a future update when we’re able to resolve this issue and we are sorry for the inconvenience!

  • Workshop question packs in the categories menu will now be ordered by subscription date, with recently subscribed packs appearing first.
  • Steam Workshop’s ‘played’ tab will now show Workshop packs you’ve played a game with.
  • We've updated the official Steam Workshop Guide now Workshop packs can be created and updated!

New Guest Champion
Hard-working bourgeois! Are you ready for Reinhold's resplendent debut as a Guest Champion?

They say that wealth begets wealth, and that definitely rings true for His Majesty! On every quest, he will find a bonus bundle of unusual* items. There’s a catch though; these items are only found if Reinhold survives the quest! Protect your king!

On the battle side, the King is more of a lover than a fighter, but with some experience under his gilded belt, he may be able to hold out his own! Consider dedicating a few XP drinks to his debut. His boundless charisma also moderately increases his party’s HP, DEF and ATK.

Unlike other Guest Champions, Reinhold will occasionally rejoin your roster on an irregular basis. His first grand appearance will be on July 26th, leaving on the 30th. As with all Guest Champions, King Reinhold will retain his level, experience and seeds when he returns, though any equipped Familiar will be returned to the inventory when he departs.

*Unusual items include equipment not part of the standard blueprint progression, such items from premium lines (e.g guns), mega packs, or chests (e.g opulent items). Tougher quests will result in more and higher tier items!

Minor Changes
  • It is now possible to lock/unlock items from the market’s request screen (through the blueprint details).
  • On the market screen, it is now possible to swiftly modify quantity or value by making a long tap on any of the arrow buttons. Holding a tap on the “+5” button will instead max the quantity offered or requested. PC players can also use Right Click for the same effect.
  • Added sorting options to Market when browsing from Dragon Invasion supply menu.
  • Added a short tap protection timer when placing boosters during the Dragon Invasion event, to prevent accidental purchases with gems.
  • Added a toggle to display locked items for Dragon Invasion supplies.
  • A blueprint’s base Airship Power is now visible on the blueprint info screen during the Dragon Invasion event (similar to Favor during King’s Caprice).

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed quest boss names appearing out of place.
  • Fixed a Dragon Invasion bug where the “Dragons Defeated” celebration screen would sometimes fail to display.
  • Fixed a Dragon Invasion bug causing Phase change notification to always display after visiting the city.
  • Fixed Dragonmark upgrade button not showing up as red if insufficient Dragonmarks are owned.
  • Fixed red notification not appearing when a new reward is available in Dragon Invasion.
  • Improved the consistency in which the Dragon Invasion reward pop-ups appear.
  • Fixed an issue where stats were incorrectly displayed when viewing items from the Dragon Invasion supply menu.
  • Fixed date format in various locations when playing the game in Ukrainian.
  • Fixed a minor scrolling issue in the package menus. 
  • Fixed players not being able to view their own profile through the chat window.
  • Fixed an issue where stat increase prompt was displayed after hiring a hero.
  • Fixed a formatting issue with item stats that exceed 3 digits on Item Repair screen.
  • Further fixes to “On The House” related issues.
  • Removed a few irrelevant search categories from the Dragon Invasion market.
  • Fixed a few possible crashes involving booster purchases during the Dragon Invasion event.

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened - Chromatic Games
DEFENDERS,

The Pre-Episode 2 Patch 1 PTR is now live, and we need help from our Defenders to test out these upcoming changes! As mentioned in the Preview notes, this PTR will be focused on the implementation of a handful of new features, continuing to improve the overall quality of life in DDA, and fine tuning some of the balance on defenses!

How to Join
Are you excited to check out these changes early? Do you like giving your opinion in a meaningful way? Do you want an exclusive Crystalline Corgi Pet Transmog? If any or all of these apply to you, we want you to join the PTR! If you own Dungeon Defenders: Awakened on PC/Steam, check out our forum post that shows you exactly how to join!

Reward
Test with us and get a Crystalline Corgi! Make sure to play for at least 30 minutes and fill out the in-client survey to receive this cute new Corgi transmog to use for your first ever Pet transmog! This survey can be accessed via the pause menu.



Siren Rework
The Siren has been a point of frustration for many of our players and will be receiving a rework. The reworked version will be targetable by towers and have two abilities:
  • Ability 1 - Mitigate damage to nearby enemies.
  • Ability 2 - Target players/defenses with a casted explosion that will cause damage if the player does not move away before the cast completes.
Note: Currently there is no difference between normal and Rifted and the Siren is still considered a Rifted enemy in both modes.

Changing Enemy Elemental Resistance
Enemy Elemental Resistance is being lowered from 100% to 75%. This will not change how towers work. Elemental Towers will not target, Auras will not damage, and Traps will not trigger or damage elemental enemies.

Item Culling Changes
This change makes it so that instead of drops always replacing the lowest IPWR item on the ground once the max drop limit has been reached, it will now instead keep 20 Armor, 10 Weapons and 10 Offhand drops on the ground and replace an item of the same category. Pets and Accessories are no longer culled and will stay on the ground.

New Fusion Pets


We have added 4 new Fusion pets for you to collect!
  • Act 1: Steam Robot
  • Act 2: Little Wizard
  • Act 3: Dragon
  • Act 4: Angry Cloud
Players can obtain them by playing Rifted on any act map except for the encore maps. Bonus Waves will roll between the map's pet and the Fusion pet (50/50 currently). We expect to add more in future patches.

Do you want your Corgi to shoot fireballs? Well now they can!

Rifted Enemies now drop Fusion Gear
  • This is our most requested change from our surveys and will help players better farm the Fusion gear they need!
Shroomy Pit is now Shroomy Geyser
  • Use the new and improved Shroomy Geyser to yeet Shroomies to your heart's content!
Smart Upgrade and Repair
  • This will make repairs a little less pain-staking. This feature can be toggled in the gameplay settings, and is on by default.

  • Health Increased from 1160 to 1392
Slice N Dice Blockade
  • Health Increased from 1225 to 1470
  • Damage Increased from 7 to 7.7
Harpoon Turret
  • Damage Increased from 60 to 72

Bowling Ball Turret

  • Effect Rate Increased from 0.65 to 0.5
Thunder Spike Trap
  • Damage Increased from 1500 to 1800
  • Rate Increased from 8.5 to 6.8
Elemental Barrier
  • Health Increased from 1160 to 1392
Blocking Field
  • Health Increased from 882 to 1058
Roots of Purity
  • Health Increased from 825 to 990
Quality of Life
  • Warden's Sprout ground target changed to a projectile.
  • Updated Defense Range indicators to be more user-friendly.
  • The ‘Sell All’ hotkey returns.
  • Added ‘Force Ready Up’ on the Escape UI for consoles.
  • Transmog items that can no longer be obtained will now be hidden on the transmog UI.
  • Added a gameplay option to toggle the DDGR Centered Camera Perspective view.
  • Irradiate no longer procs on target dummies in order to help temper DPS expectations .
  • Entitlements no longer give items, but will now just unlock the transmog. Entitlements that were given as items are now sellable, but will not be tradable.
  • Updated item effect descriptions to say "Increases {stat name}" instead of giving the actual description of the stat.
  • Updated Stability's item effect description to say "Reduces Knockback from enemy attacks."
  • Added Social Button Bar to Main Menu.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a few issues to help with multiplayer disconnects.
  • Fixed an issue where the spawn door had some weird textures.
  • Fixed an issue where hackers can see non hacked games.
  • Fixed issues with item effects spawning projectiles at the wrong location.
  • Fixed an issue where defeated enemies on the Tactical Map would still display despite being defeated.
  • Fixed an issue where leaving a game that was lower difficulty than what your Tavern was previously set to would cause you to have difficulty scaling issues until hero swapping.
  • Fixed an issue where deleting your last transmog could result in a crash.
