Knock-knock, players! We’ve released a new patch 0.4.21 for the test branch. We have fixed a lot of bugs, both general and concerning Tarot cards, and added new animations!
Changes
🔵 General
Added new VFX animations for events and camps.
Removed the “Millenis Nightmares” button from the Story mode.
Added new welcome phrases for all opponents in the game.
The settings on the Millenis Nightmares challenge scales no longer reset when a run is restarted.
Bug fixes
🔵 General
Say yes to corruption! The game no longer freezes when trying to give money to the guard by the castle.
Fixed the “Burning Arrow" attack of the Fire Brotherhood’s crossbowman - now it doesn’t inflict Burning if it hasn’t broken through the block.
Fixed the display of damage from the “Oxidation" card (Big Worm).
Fixed the bug with the appearance of the "Burning" card in the “Jinx” improvement on the Scales.
Now, the character which you are playing will speak in a number of events.
Removed strange messages from the Fire Brothers.
Fixed the bug that caused the “Miss” effect not to work on enemies.
Fixed the lack of UI for certain cards added by an item.
Fixed the bug that caused some settings of the Scales to affect not only enemies, but also pets.
Fixed the buff description in enemy’s intentions.
The game no longer freezes when Freezing is triggered.
Many fixes to the freeze effect.
Fixed the appearance of an endless turn after summoning a mite in the battle with the Mite Queen.
Fixed indents in the descriptions of class features and background.
Fixed the problem with the manual deletion of the current save.
The “Taunt” card no longer causes the game to crash in the battle with Imp.
🔵 Tarot Cards
For various Tarot cards, removed battles with opponents that don’t correspond to biomes.
Fixed the large increase in deck size from the “Emperor" card.
Fixed removal of Dome by the earth buff from the “Empress" card.
Removed the animation of Millenis's eyes for the trembling card for the tarot "Daemon" card.
Improved the healing balance upon playing a highlighted card for the tarot "Daemon" card.
Fixed the appearance of merchants in the tarot "World" card.
Removed the extra “Training” button in the camps in the "World" card.
Fixed additional upgrading of a card in the presence of the "Target" trophy in the "World" card.
Fixed bug in the “Death” card that caused the character to not be healed upon winning.
Fixed the mechanics of Spearhead in the "Death" card.
Fixed dropping rare and legendary cards and items for the "Temperance" card.
Fixed timer balance for the "Judgement" card: the time for battle is now reduced to 2 minutes.
Now the effects of the “Strength” card are taken into account when calculating damage done.
Less damage is returned if the enemy has little health (for the “Strength" card).
The Tarot “Hanged Man" card now correctly gives cards of other heroes.
Fixed work of Tarot "Wheel of Fortune" card.
🔵 Persival
Fixed the "Goblin Town" event when playing for Persival.
🔵 Bjorn
Fixed the animation of Bjorn's dwarven helmet.
After stunning, intentions are correctly updated if Bjorn shapeshifts.
Bjorn's Axe of the Turnskin returned to bleeding cards.
🔵 Vanadis
During the first turn enemies can now attack the pet too (previously they always attacked only Vanadis).
Fixed the mechanics of the “Repeat the Lesson" card.
Fixed the description of the "Repeat the Lesson" card.
Fixed the mechanics of the “Spark” card.
Fixed the damage value in the description of the "Freezing Blow" card.
Fixed the damage value of the "Rebuff" pet card when Strength indicator is negative.

Fixed the mechanics of the “Cucumber Elixir” for Vanadis.
Fixed the effects that reduce the cost of using the central card for Vanadis.
Fixed Batu helmet textures for Vanadis.

As Edwin Everard rose through the ranks of The Order, he never imagined he would come face-to-face with the full force of the Veil's Nightmares. Adept as he was with the blade, he saw himself as a peacekeeper - not one to lead the charge into battle.
Edwin swore an oath, however, and he takes that oath seriously - more so than many others of his rank, and perhaps even more than the Bishop he reports to.
Edwin was blessed with a curious power few seem to possess; the talented Knight can conjure dancing flames that bend to his will, yet do not consume him. A lesser man would have let these embers guide him to power and wealth, but Edwin serves a higher purpose.
He has seen what hides in the shadows. He has seen the Order cast aside its singular purpose in favour of petty politics. He believes they are unprepared for what they must face. Now Edwin believes that, if he does not uphold his oath, humanity is lost.
He may be right.

Edwin Ultimate Ability - Flame Shield
Edwin engulfs himself in a flaming shield that blocks damage and harms nearby attackers, exploding when it is destroyed or expires.

Aelis Passive Ability - Royal Decree
Aelis survives a fatal blow by sacrificing a Loyal Guard, healing her to a set percentage of her health bar. While not on cooldown, Aelis condemns enemies she hits, causing them to take additional damage from all sources.

Small patch that addresses some bugs and improvements that have come up. We have made great progress on the save data stuff, and now the game over screen actually works again! We've also got quite a few minor/ QoL changes and the addition of some sweet new engineer sound effects!
General
-Game Over screen now functional (finally!)
-Gain points and set records for making it further in the game, adding up to a total score! (point multipliers and new records are subject to change, this is our initial implementation, let us know what you think!)
-The 'Stats' page on your TAB screen is now functional as well! Check out all your weapon, ability, player, and mission stats as they update throughout the game!
-Improved some tutorial dialogue to better explain gameplay and mechanics
-New batch of SFX is in! The engineer has some very juicy sounds now! (Some of these will be tweaked a little but the shotgun and overclock sounds are so cool)
-All 'block' effects now give you 1 second of immunity after they trigger, and these effects now won't trigger while you're already immune
-Damaging an enemy that still has spawn immunity will now show an "immune" damage text
-Updated ability and combat roll cooldown ui
-Silver Wings, and Royal Jelly have updated visual effects!
Bug Fixes
-Fixed the pickaxe being broken with controllers unless you moved your mouse
-Fixed easy mode actually reducing reactor repair speed instead of speeding it up (lol)
-Fixed enemies not taking the new spawn locations when barricades would break in the tutorial
-Fixed a bug where if you would start the wave with the bridge up, enemies would be unable to path through it even when it came back down
-Fixed not being able to open the pause menu while in tutorial intro sequence
-Player must consume the specified amount of GCOINS listed below in order to receive their desired rewards.
- Qualified players need to send a ticket to support.goonzu@valofe.com regarding what CATEGORY they want to join
and the REWARDS they want to receive. (Follow the format below the rewards list)
- Any bonus GCOINS purchasing are counted for this event.
