It's Dark - Can'taloupe
Hello!

We're pleased to announce that It's Dark is now available on Steam! The game is, and will always be, free to play.

This game was created as a school project. We've taken a couple months to get the game ready for a steam release, but we're not committed to pushing any further updates or adding in any additional content. That's not to say we're going to completely ignore the project though, as large bugs or game-breaking issues may be addressed in the future.

We are also using a free cloud server hosting service provided through Photon.
This means the maximum number of players we can have playing at a time is 20.
That may be subject to change in the future depending.

We also have a Discord Server and a Twitter. Definitely check them out if you're a gaming gamer.

END GAME CONTENT
Added a territory war event in marine fortress! It will allow the winning faction to choose which island's Faction House they want to control. Each Faction House has different perks. One Faction house will allow you to trade keys for reputation points and upgrade the rarity of your key. And the other one will allow you to "trade" achievements for Soul Power (a force that will allow you to overcome your limit)!

How Does the Territory War Works?
There are two rocks protecting each faction’s flag in Marine Fortress. Once the first rock is destroyed, everyone is alerted. Once the second rock is destroyed, the attacking faction will have 15 minutes to successfully destroy the enemy flag. If after 15 minutes the enemy flag is still there, the defending faction win and will not lose their previous territory (Faction House).

If the attacking faction manages to destroy the enemy flag before 15 minutes, they will have the option to choose which island they want to control, giving them access to that island Faction House.

A successful defense gives the territory war a 30 minutes cooldown before another attack can begin.
A successful attack gives the territory war a 24 hours cooldown before another attack can begin.

  • Zoan transformation energy drain reduced from 5 to 3.
  • Ice Spikes technique now throw 3 ice spikes in addition to the trap.

  • Player's faction is now displayed with a logo on their target box.

Hi all, this patch is full of bug fixes and tunings. We are slowly refactoring our code for the new Java 17 and the overall performance should be better.

Change log:

  • Traps (as well as a few other special objects, e.g. cauldron, barricade, explosive barrel, etc.) can be placed without using turn. We are still tuning AI for this logic update.

  • Slippery is less potent (10% slip chance and 30% chance of pushing away in melee).

  • We track a few last triggered Global Events and make sure the same ones won't be triggered.

  • AI moving invisible units is much faster (previously animation time was the same as normal move).

  • Holy Protection attribute for Inquisitors and Valkyries. This attribute makes units immune for Necromancy and Death spells.

  • Units with Hit and Run aren't able to attack again after retreat.

  • Poisoned invisible units won't be revealed (till they die).

For the duration of The Summer EVO Event, we will be disabling the world buffs from Baby Boon & Maewing Poach on Genesis Part 2 on the Official Network. In the past, we've adjusted for the impact events have had on the rates by tweaking the bonuses that we use during breeding events, however, those tweaks lead to unfavorable circumstances on maps that aren't Genesis Part 2, so during breeding events, we'll be disabling these mission buffs specifically as not to affect the bonuses on other maps.

The deep abyss is the most haunting place on Ark. I’ve recently unlocked tek, and needed to grab some materials, which many happened to be underwater. Fjordors ocean isn’t very large, it’s relatively shallow most of the time with frequent caves. However, on the western side, I encountered a cave while exploring and I found the deep abyss. An area of nothing but freezing cold water, and dangerous creatures. However, those are not the scariest parts of the area, it’s the emptiness. It was just me, my shadowmane, and sound of my oxygen tank and breathing. I entered and saw, a blinding sight of blue nothingness. Sure there were alpha creatures in there, but they never scared me, I had strong mounts I could throw out to protect me, the atmosphere was what scared me. A massive cove of water, occasionally interrupted by cracks in floor, that give off radiation. A massive skeleton lays for what seems an infinite length around the abyss, is what sealed the deal. As soon as I got what I needed, I left. Never would I think ark triggers this sense of terror

Vampire Diaries is here, and in customary style, we're launching with an event. Whilst this update is all about vampire characters, we've got you covered with some unique stuff for non-vampires during the event too. Some of these are available in-game, but we've also got exclusive access codes in the Discord server.

We'll answer some questions you might have below.

What's in the update?
It's an almost complete overhaul for vampire characters. The absolute basics remain the same, but there are new mechanics and a lot of new content, including new NPCs to meet.

Is it free?
Yes, this is a free update and will download into your game automatically. There are some credit-locked options within it, but the vast majority of the content is not locked.

Does this add supernatural elements to cpd's world?
No. Our vampires are genetically engineered mutants. Nothing supernatural or magic about them.

How do I play as a vampire?
Being a vampire is a mutation choice, so you need to play as a mutant character if you don't already have one (either by restarting or getting an alt character). Be aware, however, that being a vampire is mutually exclusive with being a cannibal mutant, so don't pick the latter option first.

How do I get the most out of this content?
There are multiple paths to take as a vampire, but at one point you'll be offered the choice to join a coven. This is where the most content lies.

Will I be able to found my own coven?
This is planned content and will be credit-locked when it comes.

What about non-vampires?
This update is all about vampire characters, but during the event there will be some preview items and unique access codes, and maybe some other things during the week... we'll see.

List of fixed issues:
  • Cutscenes on the 4th level, which could not be completed due to the inactive button continue the story, have been fixed
  • The problem with displaying the resolution has been fixed, please note that at the first start there may be a piece of another panel at the top of the screen, when you select the desired resolution in the settings, the interface is guaranteed to work as it was planned
  • In particular, due to changes in the interface, the problem with crashes in the game when it is minimized has been fixed

List of issues we are working on fixing:
  • Typos in tasks in English at levels 1 and 2
  • 4th level Cyrillic in English translation
  • Level 4 position of robots in cutscene 3,4,5 is saved and shown to the player by mistake
  • 7th level incorrect position of background and tablet with code
  • 8th level the camera with the tablet with the code was shot down
  • 9th level, the robot is not visible in 2 cutscenes

In Devlog video 102, I cover the revamping of the Mercs panel. The Mercs panel layout has been improved and you can now detach the Merc panel from the Fleet panel. You can also resize the panel with the layout inside adjusting to the new specified size.

Mercs now will display an indicator to show when they are out of ammo. Any module that has no available ammo will trigger the merc to display this on the merc panel. A (Reload Ammo) indicator will also show up on the tactical HUD for that merc. Once the proper ammo has been added to the merc's cargo, the indicator will be removed from both the tactical sensors and the Merc panel.

I have also made changes to the Bookmarks panel. This panel can now be resized as well as moved. There was a bug prior to 135 where the bookmarks were not saving data properly when multiple lines were added to the notes field. This bug has been fixed and will no longer cause the player bookmarks to save corrupted data into the player_data.txt file.

I have added a number of new gate keys and gate connections to the campaign map. I have also added a new document to the welcome center for new players.
