Hey all,

I’ve decided to release one last update, just in time for Steam’s VR Fest!!

I finally found some extra time and motivation to give this little, experimental project one last tidy up and bug-fix. I’ve now solved some previously known issues and made some much needed improvements.

I’ve now started work on my next project and I can’t wait to share with everyone!

I’ve also set up a Patreon for anyone who’d like to follow along in my journey. There I’ll be sharing updates and providing access to pre-alpha builds of my current projects.

Thank you again for checking out this short narrative experience. So many people gave their time and helped me out with this University project, and I’ll be forever grateful for the experience.

[h5]13 July 2022 | Major Update (Final)[/h5]
  • End game achievement added.

  • Picking up objects uses an offset. So you’re holding from the point you’ve picked it up.

  • Re-built the player controller. You now have two hands (aka mittens) that can pick up, teleport and interact with UI. Full instructions are in the main menu scene.

  • Audio Tour no longer overlaps. Will restart each time you collide with the silver panels.

  • Menu pop up available throughout the chapters so you can quit easier.

  • Some tweaks in appearance with UI and items.

  • And my favourite: audio has been improved… a lot.

  • Emma was moved to behind the counter to reduce the levels. How the audio was initially set up, Emma and Jaime share an audio source, which means they share volume. So, I just moved her next to him. They’re really good friends, so it still makes sense.

  • I found a workaround that should have removed the crackling/distortion that occurred on some launches. I’ve tested a lot and it hasn’t come back, but I’m still worried it’ll pop up. Please let me know if it happens again :)

[h5]Known Issues[/h5]
  • Sadly, there might be headsets that aren’t supported. Only the Quest, Rift and Reverb G2 have been tested and they appear to be working. There are no plans to add support with this project, but I will definitely aim to incorporate more in the next project.

  • Okay, let’s face it, the dialogue system ain’t the best. Unfortunately, fixing this would mean a massive overhaul, and I think I’d rather learn from this mistake and put the effort into my next project. So, thank you for your patience with this ːsteamhappyː It’s not terrible, just not a great user experience.

Mercury Fallen - Nitrous Butterfly
Howdy Folks!

A huge thanks for all the feedback and support. Great to see all of the new and existing players enjoying Mercury Fallen. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been working on tweaking and fixing a whole bunch of things. There are still more tweaks and fixes in development, but I wanted to get a bunch of them out the door now.

There are more tweaks and fixes coming, but keep an eye out for the next Developer Log where I’ll cover some of the larger changes and additions in development. Thanks everyone and have fun out there!

Changes
  • Replaced mining selection audio effect
  • Updated or added UI audio effects to provide better consistency
  • Color picker will now close if clicking the color button again or selecting a color
  • Botanists harvesting wild crops will now drop the crop on the ground instead of putting it in their inventory. This allows them to move on to gathering more crops instead of bringing the items back immediately.
  • Solid fuel generator will no longer consume fuel if not connected to a power network

  • Aquarium now shows the Drop Harvest On Ground toggle when waiting for egg delivery. This matches the behavior seen in algae farm, crop field and aeroponics farm.

If animals are the heart of the zoo, the personnel must be its soul. If you're determined to have a flourishing zoo, it's worth taking a moment to familiarize yourself with the possibilities ZooKeeper provides.


Personnel management
"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." The better staff you hire in ZooKeeper the easier the zoo management is going to be. Employees can largely deal with the zoo on their own, but you can manage their activities by giving them personal instructions. It's easier than you think. Just right-click on the task objective and then select a command from the list.



Levels
No one is the same, everyone is unique in their own way. Nor is everyone perfect. Every employee has their own levels, which increase when doing any activity. In the left bottom corner of the employee icon, you'll find its current level.
Clicking the employee icon will result in opening skill points distributing window. It is used to learn skills, which increase the productivity of that specific worker in many different ways. The higher the price of the employee, the more skills he has available to learn.



Fees
If you are good at something, don't do it for free - that's a golden rule of most businesses. It is no different here. In ZooKeeper you will have a panel where you will hire, fire, and manage your employees. To open the panel just click the suitcase icon. There you can view all the information about the staff and hire them. In the case of employees, you should always pay attention to the number of paid days. If it is approaching 0, you should pay for the next with the pay button. The bonus button allows you to instantly store up energy.



Energy
We know that energy costs are quite high these days, but we want to familiarize you with a different kind of energy - staff's energy. Every employee has an energy bar that shows their willingness to perform specific tasks. Let's take for instance the red color. It suggests that employee needs to rest. If this condition continues for a long time, they may leave their jobs or be even attacked by aggressive animals.
In order to increase the energy of your staff, you can send them to the employee yard for a break. On top of that, you can pay them bonuses that will definitely cheer them up.

Now you know a bit more about people working in the zoo. Think about how to get the most out of your employees so that they are not overworked, gushing with energy that will result in more happy visitors to your zoo.?

Bounce Ball: Neon Party Arcade - PeerlessPaul
With the next update, we will add a total of six new items to increase the variety of items while you are playing.
For the controllable items, there are 2 new items, and for the effect items, there are 4 new ones.

But what are the new items exactly? Let us briefly explain each one.



Effect items

Shrink Ball
When the ball collects this item, it will shrink the ball temporarily. When the effect ends, the ball will return to its previous size. Also, the effect is stackable, so it is possible to shrink the ball 2 times, 3 times, or even more times.


Enlarge Ball
This item is the opposite of the "shrink ball." So when the ball collects it, the ball will be enlarged temporarily.


Arena Glitch
When the ball collects this item, a glitchy distortion filter will be applied to the arena. This will temporarily decrease the visibility of the arena and makes hitting the ball(s) correctly more difficult for the player.


Double ball
When the ball collects this item, the ball will be split into 2 balls. If the cloned ball leaves the arena, e.g., a goal is scored, the ball will disappear for ever and will not be spawned again.


Controllable items

Item Lock
When the player activates this item, all other item slots of the opponents will be locked temporarily, and the opponents can no longer use their items. After the effect ends, the item slots of the opponents are unlocked, and all players can use their items again.


Goal Shield
When the player activates this item, a barricade will be temporarily placed in front of the goal of the player who activated it. The barricade deflects all balls and therefore protects the player from losing life or preventing other players from scoring.

ACCESSIBILITY
  • Set all the accessibility text-to-speech queue delays to 100 ms. These values ranged from 200 ms to 1000 ms, which on fast text-to-speech rates added noticeable delay to the messages. In the case that 100 ms is too low, this value can be adjusted in future patches.
  • Changed the order in which the blacksmith accessible group is navigated. The success rate of reforging is now read out before the reforge button element.
  • When opening a tooltip pop-up with the CTRL key, any currently spoken text-to-speech text is interrupted for a more responsive tooltip.
  • During a battle, the auto-attack type of a unit is read out when highlighting a unit on the grid.
  • Added a new help entry describing the layout of the battle grids. The help entry can be found in the help menu under the accessibility header.
  • Fixed an issue where the hero tooltips didn't read out the selected hero's star rating correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where the party overview displayed incorrect bonuses. The bonuses should now be displayed correctly at 1 or more, 3 or more, and 5 matching ability traits.

BUG FIXES
  • Reduced the rate at which random dialogue events were displayed in chapter two and chapter three. The rate was incorrectly left too high on the patch before version 1.0.0.
  • Fixed a bug where any score was incorrectly set to zero at the end of a playthrough. This was caused by changes to the save file format from version 0.9.1 to 1.0.0.
  • Fixed a bug where a single quest incorrectly used the wrong and deprecated 3D environment.
  • Fixed an audio issue where Maryu's ability Sage's Advice caused clipping.
  • Fixed an audio issue where clipping could be heard when entering the deployment mode with multiple party members.
