Today’s devlog is about Hacker class agents. If you think that you will continue to read only about the abilities of hacking systems or typical hackers’ lotions - everything is not as simple as can seem to be!
Brief information about Hackers
Of course, in the past Hackers were programmers and professionals in the field of cyber security. These are competent specialists who play only by their own rules and know how to do it better. Agents of this class feel at home in the virtual space and can influence the real world.
Base Hackers attack
Despite their immersion in cyberspace, Hackers are quite good fighters in the real world. Their basic attack Flash deals damage with a force beam on a target enemy.
Special abilities
Since the Hackers are associated with technology, they are also involved in the development of unique weapons or devices. For example, one of their special skills is Electroshock - using the glove to hit a targeted enemy with electricity.
With the Icebreaker ability, these agents can hack the defensive systems of the target enemy via the Cybernet. Reduces armor by 3 turns.
Icebreaker ability will be available in the full-fledged game
And the opposite, ultimate ability ICE strengthens the defensive systems of all allies, improves their armor for three rounds.

This is Director. K, It’s been a while since I’ve said hello. 👋
I hope you all enjoyed our CBT and the demo. I would like to thank you all again for the valuable feedback as well.
For that, Dysterra was able to evolve in many ways. One of the big pillars of the feedback was the server stability and anti-cheat issues, so we still have the ‘playtest’ feature up to make it work better.
Stability Test Progress?
We have identified and improved the following major performance bottlenecks:
📋NPC optimization🤖
Since many NPCs can emerge simultaneously within the game world, we have adjusted the number of active NPCs so that the total quantity is appropriate for server performance. AI for NPCs is also under tuning process, they might feel a little slow, but when the overall server issues become better, AI will become better along with it.
📋Object collision optimization🚧
Depending on user activities in game, crash handling was one of the big bottlenecks within the server. There have been several optimization related to this issue over the past month.
📋Buildings Optimization🏢
We have found that complexity of the building built by the players put a lot of load within the server. This issue is under process of optimization.
📋Anti-cheat👮
Since we have first seen cheats being used, a lot of structural loopholes with unauthorized illegal programs have been constantly been filled. Consequently, we are seeing dramatic reduction in number of cheats being used.
It is difficult to disclose all details about the measures we will be taking. Even now, however, we are trying our best to block all unauthorized illegal programs and viewing user activities through various methods.
Aside from these measures being taken through anti-cheat solution and the client itself, our GMs are constantly viewing user activities through in-game monitoring as well. However, we ask for your understanding that it may take some time as the investigation on cheats needs to be carried out in a precise manner to prevent unnecessary banning on wrong players.
What are your future plans for Dysterra?
The stability test that is on-going right now will end soon, and the exact date will be announced 3 days before it ends. Also, please note that the existing game information (nickname, etc.) will be wiped at the end of the test.
In addition, apart from the stability test, we are working on various new contents and improvements to the existing system. Let me give you a slight glimpse into what we are preparing. These updates include bigger map, female chracters, and new weapons as we’ve announced earlier.
📌Global ranking system🏆
Some of you may have already realized that we have been constantly strengthening our ranking system. Everything was a stepping stone for this upcoming global ranking system. Every actions that you take in-game will affect the overall ranking. Most importantly, it is crucial to survive till the last in each world. It is only natural to feel proud about being ranked high, but we are also preparing some rewards that can be obtained depending on the rankings. Additional details about the rewards will be released later on.
📌Reinforced item recovery in case of death🧐
Safety slots in the inventory already exists, but to reduce the risk of dying in game. We are going to make the system even easier to re-collect your items.
📌Added functions to sleeping bags⛺
To reduce the burden of having a building (shelter) for yourself, and to encourage more field action, we will be adding new functions to the sleeping bag. Sleeping bags will now have a storage function as well, Items in the sleeping bag will not be lootable, but sleeping bags will still be vulnerbale to attacks and can be destructed by other players.
📌Tutorial improved💪
We have simplified tutorials related to combat and survival.
We will be back with more interesting news soon! See you guys then!👋
Thanks : )

Hi all! Happy summer to you northern hemisphere folk, and happy winter to everyone in the south!
It’s been a busy couple of months for André and me, with both of us taking some personal time, doing some travelling, spending some time with family and generally recharging our batteries before getting started on the next year of TFC!
More hands to work!
The unfortunate thing with being such a small team is that things grind to a halt whenever we take some time off. Well, no more! We are excited to share that we have gotten some development help from our publisher, and we believe the next year will have substantial updates coming out at shorter intervals. In fact, there has been a fair amount of work done already while André and I have been away!
Get ready for stuff!
As you might have seen, we have released the roadmap for the next year of TFC content updates! We are very excited about this roadmap, and we think you all will be as well. Some of the ideas we have for implementing the new features will be fairly original and perhaps not something you’ve seen elsewhere, hopefully helping to drive the genre forward a little bit.
There’s plenty to talk about regarding this, but we will keep the suspense a little longer and get more into detail about it as we are getting ready to release them. There is, of course, a focus on the quality of life and general usability features as well, and these will be rolling out as part of the larger milestones.
Battery charged!
This next year of TFC will be a lot of fun for us, and we hope for all of you as well. Keep an eye out for future blog posts :). In the meantime, and instead of new screenshots to show, here are some photos of where I have spent some time recently, including the beautiful city of Wroclaw and the mountains and lakes of southern Norway.
As per usual, feel free to reach out with any questions you might have!
