Hope everyone is enjoying a good summer and we have a milestone 1.20 update for you today. Please keep in mind that we have hit a bit of a snag with overwriting some files on Steam update today, so some parts of this update will only be available tomorrow.
All in all a very exciting update with change across the board. The light and rendering has been adjusted on the tactical maps and the world map, and the camera moves around more easily. The interface is better looking now and noticeably less intrusive as we adjusted it to work better on all types of monitors and resolutions. And we have fixed a number of annoying bugs, including a rare crash-to-desktop when switching between levels. Most importantly, the AI now has some surprising mid-game curve balls to throw at the player. No more repetitive slogging to get to your triumphant victory once your 30-40 hours into the campaign. Other Kingdom will attempt strategies to unite and stop the player who is dominating. Here's what this update includes, and keeping patch notes grouped by category.
Also please note that this update had two parts, and second part of the update just went live.
AI players use new strategies mid to late game on the world map
Combat AI now behaves a lot more realistic when it comes to how many troops it trains per battle related to citizen caps
Combat AI is a lot less active with spawning units when defending towns
A few rare crashes have been fixed
Other bugs that affected stability eliminated
Lighting effects enhanced on the World Map
World map looks good deal different with new environmental changes
Improved lighting on the tactical maps
Corrected some historical inaccuracies in units’ attire
Camera adjusted to move around more easily
Camera scroll speeds have been slowed down dramatically per player requests
Fixed a number of bugs with camera jumping from one place to another during end of month lag spike
Interface now is a bit less intrusive with smaller scale on some buttons and windows
Added 4 Skills, 5 Jobs, 5 Needs - You can ask your villagers to fulfill their needs manually under the "Can you take a moment to..." choice. - Villagers should work less monotonously and replenish their individual needs when they run low. - The 5 new jobs can be found under working "At an indoors job as..." choice. - Currently, there's no penalties for having 0 or low amounts in the needs. - Animations for all needs are currently placeholders, proper ones will be added soon.
Dancing - Dance by pressing L. Experience is gained only when you complete a dance, so spamming will not gain anything. Logic - Gain experience in Logic by sitting at a chess table, which also fills up your Fun needs. Faith - Gain experience in Faith by praying at an altar, which also fills up your Faith needs. Note: A workbench is the current placeholder, until the model comes in. Playing Instrument - Play an instrument by pressing K. Experience is gained after 10 seconds. Note: A shield is the current placeholder, until an instrument model comes in. Proper animations and local music will be added soon.
Bard - Requires a Bar. Recommended to have a 3x3 flat area in front of the Bar. Trains the Playing Instrument skill. All the Bards can use the same Bar. Bartender - Requires a Bar. Trains the Commerce skill. Only one Bartender per Bar. Functions very similarly to Treasurers. They will have functionalities added in the future. Chess Player - Requires a Chess Table. Changes: - Weapons and tools sell prices reduced from 50% to 30% and metal bars sell prices reduced from 30% to 20%. - Seats no longer regain health and energy. - Desk and council jobs slowly drain energy so that the villagers eventually go to sleep. - Auto Run is removed for now. - Added speech bubbles to show the thoughts/actions of yourself and your villagers. They will indicate that they might not be able to find the desired furniture to fulfill their needs, shown with a red not-available sign over the icon. - Renamed Battlements to Crenulated Parapets, as battlements refer to the whole set of castle parts, not the indented wall.
Fixes: - Changing tools when auto-gathering will switch back to the correct tool. - Shield appearing instead of the right hand weapon. - Unstuck disabled for 10 seconds after teleporting to a town using Visit, to prevent going through walls.
Howdy good beasts and men! It’s been a while, but the 1.1 update is here! And in it: new playable Beast, new Adventure chapter, a Daily Wins event, new skins, victory backgrounds and much more. Let’s dive into the details!
New Stuff:
New adventure chapter: The Caves. Four arenas filled with darkness, a new breed of annoying enemies, new challenges and a pink (?) boss. The story is almost at its peak; expect the final chapter in update 1.2.
New playable beast: Garrr! He has some serious anger management issues, getting bonus Attack each time he gets hurt. Apart from that, he loves all plants, especially flowers. Guess which ones are his favourite.
Two new events; a regular one, and a ‘Calendar of daily victories’. Claim rewards every day, try to win systematically to get the final reward, but don’t linger, there is only a month to do it.
We added support for gamepads: just plug and play, switch anytime you want.
20 new cards: 3 victory backgrounds, 5 beast skins, 8 move effects (including a Legendary) and more.
Two arenas added to the Versus pool: Invisible Bridge and Carrot Field at night.
Changes/Upgrades/Balance:
You can preview the beasts you don’t have (requested by the community).
‘Play Again’ skips the intro dialogues now.
Shortened the loading time after finishing the match.
Changed the way of acquiring beasts. Many of you complained about the RNG of getting beasts, so we decided to make both beasts and their skins buyable. Just choose the one you want and buy it, the price is the same as the chest. To make it a bit more challenging and balanced, the new and epic ones are more expensive. Hope you’ll enjoy it.
Fireflies packs boost: we removed the smallest pack, and increased the number of Fireflies in all the others. Prices untouched.
Adventure made easier: On the bridge arenas, GrimFinale comes later and The Egg has more Health, boss in adventure 3 bonus damage skill replaced by a weaker one, more time to get stars in adventures 1-12.
Removed Brew as a possible neutral beast on Hex arena and added extra rock in 1v1 (to speed things up a bit).
Bubak’s Health increased from 12 to 13.
Zolf’s Health reduced from 14 to 13, Aim increased from 9 to 10.
Maximum win streak bonus reduced from infinite to 10.
Changed ‘Friends’ and platform icons so they look more intuitive.
Increased the level cap from 70 to 100.
improved currency gaining effects.
Bugfixes:
Friends connecting and joining/inviting issues - Fixed (thanks to your reports, we managed to find and fix several causes).

Some achievements don't change the image when unlocked - Fixed.
