The Atlas Mystery: A VR Puzzle Game - TRCDMI
The Steam Summer sale has brought hundreds of new players through the doors of the venerable Atlas Theater. Thank you again for your support. It means the world to us!

At Top Right Corner, we love puzzle and escape room games and we believe there should be a lot more of these on the VR market today. Since Atlas was released in mid April, several thousand of you have played the game across Steam, Oculus AppLab and via Viveport. Our goal now is to look towards expansion and improvements that we can make based on your feedback. So far, we have launched six game updates and patches since release and we will continue to support the game, its players and our fans.

That said, creating independently financed and produced games is tough - especially in the VR space - due to the increased challenges of hardware inconsistencies, optimization across different platforms and so on. To be perfectly transparent, out of every dollar that we make off of Steam sales, 57% comes back to us after VAT, local taxes, refunds and Steam's cut. This is roughly the same across Oculus with slightly better figures on Viveport Infinity, though the sales are calculated differently. The economics of VR are tough unless your game is featured prominently on Steam or on the Oculus store itself.

How can you help us expand the game and make more games like this one?

  • If you already purchased The Atlas Mystery, thank you! That is a huge help!
  • If you liked the game, please leave us a positive review on Steam. These really help us move up the rankings on Steam overtime, especially in a category of Escape and Puzzle games, where we can really stand out.
  • If you did't love the game, rather than leaving a negative review, please leave us a comment in our community board first. As developers, we've been extremely diligent about responding to every comment or note that has been posted there and you may find that the question you're asking about has already been answered by we the developer, or by another user. Rather than posting a negative review that will hurt our algorithm, please ask us here first and we will respond to you!
  • If you bought the game on Steam and have posted a review here, please also consider posting a review on Oculus as well. Our main goal towards financial viability and expansion is to get on the Oculus Main Store and to do that, we need as many reviews as possible.
  • We want to expand the game onto new platforms like PSVR2 when it is financially viable.

Lastly, let us know in the comments what you'd like to see in our next iteration of Atlas? Without giving away spoilers, it would be great to get a sense of what puzzles players really enjoyed and how we can expand the story - and atmosphere - of Old Hollywood mystique. We're considering adding more rooms, more characters and more immersion to the secrets of the Atlas Theater.

Thanks again for your help and support in making The Atlas Mystery the best VR experience it can be!

Sincerely,

The Top Right Corner development team.

Absinthia - SANIC

Hello everyone!

We're entering the final 3 days of Absinthia's Kickstarter. While it might look like we're a shoe-in for last-day funding, the reality is that we're still 19% short of the base goal (about $3,700 as of this writing). We have a long way to go.

If you haven't pledged already, now is the time to do so. If you don't want to or can't afford to pledge, you can still help support the project by following and/or retweeting my Kickstarter links.

If you're interested in making a pledge, here's an overview of the rewards:

  • $15: Digital Key
  • $25: Digital Key, OST & Desktop Wallpapers
  • $35: Bewitched Bundle (digital keys for Knight Bewitched: Enhanced Edition and Celestial Hearts)
  • $50: Early Access (all above rewards + access to the game 1-2 months in advance)
  • $75: Leave a Message! (on a poster, grave, book or TV)
  • $125: Become an NPC!
  • $150: Design an Enemy!
  • $300: Design a Boss! (3 slots available)
  • $500: Become a quest-giver! (design an NPC, quest and quest reward--3 slots left)

As a reminder: If you plan on purchasing Absinthia on launch, please consider making a $15 pledge instead. The project gets more of your money that way (instead of Steam taking a 30% cut), and you'll be helping the project come to life.

Once again, here is a link to the Kickstarter.

If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to comment here or email me: Jkweath (@) gmail.com.

Have a great week and stay safe!

Legendary Journeys - kfrench16
EA Release - 0.3.9 Notes

Developer Notes
Sword ability manuals now use the spell tome dialog system when using them. Now for the best part of this update:
I've added a "free mouselook" button - the Period key. Pressing this key will put you in free mouselook mode which means you no longer need to press and hold the right mouse button to look around.
You can press the key again to bring back the mouse cursor. However, this new feature allows for partial controller (gamepad) support as well. This was something I always wanted to add. With my Steam Deck arrival,
I moved it up the list to provide better gameplay support on the Steam Deck. So far, my time on the Steam Deck with Legendary has been a pleasant one.
I use an Xbox 360 controller - it's all I have. So, my mapping is based on that. You cannot re-bind the controller mapping; I'm sorry to say. However, there is a way to provide input mapping within steam and when playing on the steam deck.

Within the Options menu under Controls, I've added a new selection: Control Type. Gamepad will put your control into mouselook mode which also works with the gamepad.
You can press the Period key to return to regular keyboard and mouse control.
Free Mouselook (keyboard and mouse control only) - Period key
in game menu which represents most of the menu options from the window selector bar. I need to add Time and Camp options.
  • GameMenu - Keyboard: LEFT ALT, Gamepad: Start
  • Accept - Keyboard: Enter, Gamepad: A (NOTE: I had to go into Steam settings for the game and set the input by changing the name of the input key to Accept from Jump for the Enter key and A button on my gamepad)
  • Cancel - Keyboard: Backspace, Gamepad: B
  • Jump - Keyboard: Space, Gamepad: Y
  • Examine - Keybaord: Hold F, Gamepad: Hold the Left Shoulder Button
  • Pause - Keyboard: F4, Gamepad: Select
  • Previous Character - Keybaord: Left Bracket, Gamepad: Left Shoulder Button
  • Next Character - Keyboard: Right Bracket, Gamepad: Right Shoulder Button
  • Move Forward/Backword - Keyboard: W/S, Gamepad: Left Joystick - forward/backward
  • Strafe Left/Right - Keyboard: A/D, Gamepad: Left Joystick - left/right
  • Camera - Mouse, Gamepad: Right Joystick
Navigate menus with Left Joystick. Some menus, like the inventory and equipment "menus", do not work with the gamepad just yet. You will need to exit freelook mode and use the mouse.

Steam Deck controls: With this update, the Left joystick should move and strafe; the Right joystick should control the camera. You can use the right track pad to control the camera as well.
I'll post my setup once I get everything running. I am going to try the Gamepad control option to see how it operates with this update.

Please keep in mind, this is initial attempts at providing controller support. There are still some wonkiness to the interface. But, please, let me know of any weirdness you experience if you use the controller or on the steam deck.

*******ALERT - Save games may be broken with this update ALERT*****************
  • New - Sword ability manuals now display a dialog when attempting to use them
  • New - Partial Controller support
  • New - New Free Mouselook button
  • New - New Control Type - Keyboard or Gamepad in the options menu

  • Fixed - The Options window no longer displays behind the main menu window
One Last Day - MoT
Hey!

Here's comes another post. As promised I will talk briefly about how gathering has changed in One Last Day.

Lets make it easier
So now there are 2 types of resources that can be gathered, classified in "soft resources" such as flowers, mushrooms... and "hard resources" like stone, minerals, components...

Soft resources can be gathered at almost any moment just pointing at it and pressing the interaction key. As their name says, they are quite soft, so hitting them wont provide any resource and as instead they will be damaged or destroyed, so just grab them!

However this changes with hard resources. You will need to hit them, but don't try to cut down a tree with your fists, it will take forever (still possible tho... your choice). As instead you will be able to use a specialized tool, so yeah, to cut down a tree use an axe, to break some stone use a pickaxe, to demolish a wall use a hammer, you get it.

Break down
Some hard resources are not easy to collect. Trees for example, need to be cut down. A big trunk will fall to the ground and you will need to break it into small pieces to be collected. Same goes for others, such as rocks and minerals.

Multiple uses
Crafting will get a full post soon, but let's say that every material and item usually has more than one use, and not only for recipes. Some resources or items can be scrapped to obtain materials or to convert them into smaller components. Others can be used as fuel and others are quite valuable or grant special effects and is up to you to use them or sell them.

Status report
Building spawning has been done! However, making them will be harder now as buildings can contain much more detail than before. The only big feature left is basic AI and everything in the programming section of foundations stage will be finished.

After that I will close some application usability stuff and make the experimental branch for anyone to test it. Beware that this branch is more like a tech alpha, so don't expect good gameplay.

So, the next stage of foundations is to make the base content (clothes, weapons, recipes, etc...), since you are probably noting that in every capture they are using the same clothes! There are more, don't worry, but this was the first set to be fully finished.

Toilet Flushing Simulator - Tlareg
Look! I added more stuff again!

It's been a little while since an update so here we are, a lot of new stuff too!

First the Toilets

  • The Australian Toilet
  • The Tank Toilet
  • The Hole Toilet

Secondly

  • NFT flushable (Hunted Media in no way supports NFTs at all, this was added purely to make fun of NFTs)

Finally the big thing!

  • The Log

The Log is accessible from the main menu and includes descriptions for EVERY item in the game. All flushable descriptions can be accessed immediately however, Toilet descriptions will require you to have unlocked the toilet in the base game!

I also fixed a little UI issue annoying me when I noticed it with the colour of the texts on the buttons not being the same on every button.

I hope everyone enjoys reading through the stupid descriptions I wrote for everything and also enjoy the new content added!

Death Game - NoClutch
Hey guys! I know it's been pretty quiet between Metori and Garden Witch coming out, and I'm excited to finally announce and release the game I've been working on for all that time. I've always been upset and the untapped potential for really good games on the android market and I've been telling myself for years I was going to release a PC-quality game onto Google Play.

I'm happy to say I met that promise, the game is great, and I'm really proud of what I created. Here's The Kicker will also (eventually) be playable on PC and Web, though wherever I can't run ads will cost $1.00.

Please give this game a shot, I've been working on it for about as long as Metori, so it's a surprisingly complex, dynamic game. Click the link to view it!

Thanks for reading, killers! See you next time.
