Hey everyone! It's been fantastic seeing all of the continued playthrough of the demos, and with all of the bugs that I managed to squash yesterday, the experience is looking super solid ;) Anyways, I've made some more changes today, and you can see them below!
Fixes
- Added VFX to Callousness' shelter that makes it clear what it's protecting, and when it is intercepting an attack. - Lowered the sound of letters popping in in characters' text boxes and in the tutorial. - Made it such that the SFX slider affects the sound of letters popping in in characters' text boxes and in the tutorial. - Fixed bug where you couldn't finish a cutscene near the end of Eris' Forest if you played with the "Start With All Apparitions" special setting. - Fixed bug where sometimes when you defeated all enemies, you could still act 1 more time. - Fixed a bug with Callousness' shelter where it would infinitely protect its target if you used shelter on another target in that same turn. - Fixed jumping in cutscenes bugging out if your machine's country configuration used "," instead of "." for the decimal separator.
Your feedback is heard! There has been some confusion about how the gameplay actually works and what the "triggers" for jumping are. Therefore, here are the improvements that are out there now:
the tutorial got better;
the game now detects if you have completed the tutorial and if not, prompts you to take the tutorial (although still completely optional);
store page descriptions are updated to be clearer.
Remember that "Jump If You Can!" is a heavily timings-focused game! YOU get to figure the best moment to attempt to jump, based on the current phase in relation to the timer messing with your jumping ability (by turning it on and off, making it increase/decrease, etc) and the next platform cycling between going left and going right.
