Mad Chess is a massive Expansion Pack to classic chess that adds new factions to the game such as dragons, vampires & angels for a grand total of 13 armies based on RPG-class archetypes.

Mad Chess is a game that maintains standard chess rules while adding more than 80 unique fairy chess pieces divided into 13 armies of equal strength. Most armies have the same pawns and kings as classic chess, but the 4 other pieces, while having the same movement patterns, trade their reduced range for special RPG abilities.

This makes Mad Chess easy to learn but hard to master. With 91 match-ups instead of 1, chess just got its biggest expansion pack in centuries. Madness? No. Mad Chess.

I wont bore with the details - but if you tried Be in the past and couldn't connect to another player (black screen, and nothing else) - this build should fix that.

What else comes to mind:
- Mostly I'm working on fixing little things (making the app appear correctly in Steam VR, that kind of thing).
- New graphics setting of "medium" has far far better performance than "high" while retaining almost all the visual fidelity. Still working on why "High" is having such an impact. It should be called "Insanity" right now :)

TRAIN CREW - Mizotsuki Rail (Acty)
-Fixed a problem in which an oncoming train stopped at Komano on train 1261 in the "Lessons and practice" mode.
-The direction of the station has been added to the formation display on the menu screen.
-Added stop position targets for conductors.
-Repeater of starting signal have been added.
(A "repeater of starting signal" is an indicator light that turns on when the traffic light at the exit of a station is other than red.)
-Added CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) for conductors.

In addition, an advance trial of the conductor mode will be offered exclusively to FANBOX supporters.

RXC - Rally Cross Challenge - nikescar
Yep, we're pushing the release date back. It's painful to do but, there are still things that we need more time to develop.



The progress in the last couple months has been great and we think a lot of that shows in the updated demo we released in late May. Feedback on the demo has been very positive and we're happy that people are enjoying it.



Since we don't have a firm release date in sight yet, we decided to move the release date to the end of the year even though we are fairly confident it will release sooner than that. Thanks for sticking it out with us and for the feedback and kind words.

  • Massive construction cost rebalance.
  • Added Craft All and Craft Turn buttons to the crafting window.
  • -Craft All will craft as many of the item as possible and wait further orders
  • -Craft Turn will do the same as Craft All except automatically end your turn upon completion
  • Added the active characters inventory to all building windows to make it easier to move items around without juggling multiple windows
  • Merged the Equipment sheet into the inventory panel to again make it easier to mange your equipment
  • Old equipment button will now open the character sheet
  • Added several tool tips and help options
  • Added Flanking - A character is considered flanking if they are attacking their target from directly behind or one "side" to the left or right and can do up to double damage
  • Added a short global cooldown to skills in combat to prevent skillspam

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug causing many different skills to put their experience gains in to blocking.
  • Hopefully fixed a bug causing enemies to attack practically never
  • Inventory now closes automatically when using a building blueprint
  • Workers assigned to a task will have their worker window updated to reflect their current task properly

Last week we talked about some of the new content introduced with our incoming Patch 1.03 (planned for release on all platforms and storefronts on the week of June 20th). While we'll also communicate the full bugs fix list in a few days, for today we wanted to share with you some of the exciting new features that will find their way into the game with this free update!


Loot: Weapon Perks
In an effort to diversify weapon loot, Patch 1.03 will introduce the concept of weapon perks. Now, each weapon you find in the world has a low chance of having a random perk attached to it, such as, but not limited to, increasing critical damage against non-human creatures, a chance to poison enemies, the ability to ignore some of the target armor, and more. If you upgrade a weapon with the forge, it will preserve the perk that was attached to it and transfer it to the upgraded weapon, too! This is the first part of our loot pass, which will continue with future patches by adding even more unique random gameplay effects to weapons!




Reputation TAB
Patch 1.03 will see the introduction of the Reputation Tab, allowing you to monitor what Vendettas are still active against you, what Friends for Life you have acquired, and also what Vendettas or Friends for Life your Companions have brought along with them into your Posse, adding a clearer understanding of those systems. From this tab you can also check out in what locations you are currently wanted. We hope you enjoy the new Reputation Tab!




New Aiming System Options
In an effort to make the aiming system easier to use for players of all skill levels, we are adding two gameplay options that can be tuned or turned on/off at any point, depending on your preferences. "Aiming Accuracy," when set to Permissive will make the aiming system more forgiving so that you will still hit your target even if you don't very accurately aim at it. A second option, "Slo-Mo while aiming," allows the game to slow down a tiny bit while entering aim mode to make things a bit less overwhelming if you prefer your action a bit less fast-paced.




Revamped Companion AI
A lot of love was given for this patch to Companions' AI to avoid most of the issues related to companions not engaging in combat, getting stuck and not following you, or disappearing altogether. While Companions and AI in general will remain one of our core focuses for the coming weeks, to keep on improving the experience, we are confident this update will make Companions a more reliable part of combat!




New Progression System
Patch 1.03 also introduces a revamped progression system, where Weapon Abilities you acquired now transfer between Journeys (unlike Class Abilities), so the progression between the 5 Journeys feels more connected in term of progression. Note that if you load an existing save file after patching, you will be prompted to opt in or opt out of this new system, but all new games started after this patch will use the new progression system. Similarly, when recruiting your previous Journey Heroes, ammo, money, and even horse ownership are now transferred to the new Hero so you don't feel like your hard-earned dollars and belongings are going to waste. To go along with those changes, we have also done a full balancing pass on the game economy (specifically how much junk items you find in containers and their value), but we have also revised the enemies' level progression in secondary locations so that the game difficulty in those locations doesn't plateau as much after the second Journey. This also means Bounty Targets from the Bounty Board will now correctly scale throughout the game, offering 3, 4, and 5 star Bounties as you progress. You will now also receive a relay from the Marshall when Bounties for key Story Characters are added to the Bounty Board so those don't fully unnoticed!




60 FPS on Xbox Series S
For those of you playing on Xbox Series S, we did a pass on optimization (which will also benefit to lower end PCs, Xbox One, and PS4). The result of that optimization pass is that the game now runs at a steady 60fps on Xbox Series S! We hope you will enjoy the smoother experience!

Steam Next-Fest
During the Steam Next-Fest, which will be held between June 13 at 10:00 to June 20 at 10:00 (PDT), you can download the new Steam demo version for free. In the demo, in addition to our brand new "Relax Mode," you will have access to the first three lands/challenges: Hongye, West Ridge and East Plain.

We are always eager to hear your suggestions and listen to your feedback. After experiencing the demo, please share your opinions through our in-game questionnaire. Your thoughts are invaluable to us as it helps us to tune the game better suited to your needs and requests. Special Events for Next-fest, with Amazing rewards!
We welcome you (again) to Hongye! In the spirit of Steam Next-Fest's anticipation and excitement, we organize two great events for our players to show their skill and mastery of ruling Hongye while competing for awesome rewards. We have two significant events: Hongye Speedrun and Great Scenes from Hongye; both will last from June 13 at 10:00 to June 27 at 10:00 (PDT). Hurry up and get ready to win generous rewards.

Hongye Speedrun
We have had an Alpha and a Beta test so far, and we heard similar things from our Magistrates. "This challenge was too easy for me!", "I had a hard time competing against time," "Sometimes I ruined my economy because I lacked planning."

Well, do not hold back now. You can display your skill in Hongye with our new Relax Mode, where you can compete to complete the challenges as fast as you can and have a chance to win. Since we only have 3 challenges for the demo, you will only be competing in the third one, East Plain! This is just a beginning.

Rules:
1. You need to challenge and complete East Plain Challenge in Relax Mode.
2. Evaluation will be done based on the completion time shown in the final report. Any score is acceptable as long as you pass the challenge.
3. When participating in the speedrun, players need to upload gameplay to Youtube and send the video link along with the screenshot of the final results to our staff members in Discord. If players have the same time, the player with the higher score in the game will win. In case of equal time and rating, the player who submits the result first will win.
4. Please start your recording just before initiating the East Plain challenge by signing the challenge document and stop recording it only after clearly displaying the final report screen.
5. Please ensure the clarity and fluency of the video so everyone can track it clearly. If the video is always pixelated and/or choppy, it may not be accepted. Occasional pixelations are okay.
6. Artificially speeding up the game or saving data manipulation is forbidden. Do not edit the video by modifying the game speed, cropping the footage, modifying the result screen and other cheating means, if found, you will be disqualified from the competition.
7. Tag your Discord ID or nickname in your video to show your identity.
Awards:
First place: $400 gift card
Second place: $200 gift card
Third place: $100 gift card
The top 20 players will receive a copy of the full version of Ballads of Hongye and special skin——Lantern House.
