As you know, we are preparing a new demo for Steam Next Fest, and you can already play it on Monday. Apart from balance corrections, we have removed the restriction of 30 FPS, and that made our game way more smooth and pleasing to the eye. We've also considerably changed battlefields and made them more vivid, placing a lot of new animated objects—they look way more classy than Redemption’s.
We have also added a new redesigned intro (it's not a final version though), the choice of difficulty level, free cards animation, an improved screen of card replacement before the start of a fight and a lot more.
What we haven't added but we will for sure: we'll add a new screen for the main menu—it still demands some work with animations and music. We also plan to partially rewrite dialogues to make the story of the first tournament more complete and interesting. And of course, we'll bring back voice acting when all the texts are ready.
Working on a demo is a hard and tiring process, but we always work as a team, and that's why we chat a lot and try to cheer each other up—sometimes with absolute nonsense. And today we want to share some with you.
Sometimes, after a hard working day our artists join the Dark Side of the Force. I blame Disney and the new trilogy for all of this.
Here, the artist who works with battlefields took the condition “In this battle your opponent will get an unexpected reinforcement” a bit too literally…
And our art-director, while testing animations, turned a poor guardian into a dirty swine, putting flies on him, because “there were no corpses nearby”.
Also he says that he’s added a scroll to a Frisian version of Kleta to punish Finn for bad fights in the tournament.
And he claims that he didn’t try to draw a young revolutionnaire—just wanted to attach the girl to the mother. Of course, we don’t believe him.
But sometimes the game creates memes itself. For example, a ghost of a Hammerer appeared in the deck of Berkana’s champion. Spooky!
By the way, our team is quite young. But some of us are old enough to remember a very ancient meme about Techno Viking…
Anyway, we all are millennials, so the memes are usually pretty classic:
And not always funny (but quite honest!)...
We also share photos of our favourite pets with each other. And it seems, all of us are crazy cat lovers (the image is clickable, by the way).
It’s quite weird, but none of us has a dog. We would gladly accept them into our company though. But we have other pets too.
We hope that our pets and our stupid sense of humour have lifted your spirits. At least, just a tad.
Regretfully, we won’t likely post regular updates and tell you about our game in detail anymore. We’ve always tried to create interesting quality content, but it takes a lot of time and effort—and for now these efforts don’t pay off and don’t bring enough wishlists.
Comments, likes and reposts of this post are also very welcome—thanks a lot for your support, anything like that is very precious for us. Besides, you can join our Discord channel—we are always glad to talk to the players and answer any questions.
That’s all for now. We remind you that on Monday, with the start of the festival, our new demo will be available for everyone—and we are waiting for your feedback. Be sure to tell your friends about us!
Today, we’ll dive deeper into, for some (definitely for us), the best part of the game - the lovely ladies of the Fleapit!
And, as you can probably tell by the trailer that was just posted on the IGN channel - this time we’ll talk about Fasaria, the cutest Grim Reaper in town!
Haven’t seen the trailer? We’ve got you! Check it out below:
Fasaria didn’t live fast but she died young anyway.
She didn’t choose the goth life—the goth afterlife chose her. Being several thousand years dead, it’s hard for Fasaria to remember much about her old life. All she knows is that she woke up with a scythe, a job and a really shitty boss. Still, being perpetually locked in the afterlife as a young woman and a reaper has its perks.
For one thing, Fasaria never misses a new trend in the society she pulls the souls of the dead out of. Ruffs, poetry, the radio, smartphones—she’s seen it all and she’s taken it all back with her. More than anything, her favorite innovation of post-Egypt humanity has to be alcohol. Sometimes you just need to wind down after a hard day of work, after all, and Fasaria’s recipe for happiness happened to find itself at the bottom of a glass of White Russian.
The centuries of strict supervision on the job, near-constant isolation and constant exposure to the circumstances of the dearly departed created an apathetic, cold-hearted disconnect from those around her. After all, it’s hard to care about people when you know all too well they’re gonna die soon enough anyway.
However, under that tough as nails exterior lies a lonely, socially starving young woman who’s spent so long without friends or loved ones that she may have forgotten how to have them, which leaves her flustered and confused. She’s got a mask hiding her true self, but it’ll take a certain kind of person to get close enough to take it off.
You’ve loved her as Yoshi from Nagatoro! You’ve jammed to “dreamy night”! You’ve heard her voice grace the presence of games like Genshin Impact and Paladins!
And now… LilyPichu is joining the cast of Freaked Fleapit as Fasaria!
We’re extremely excited and super-grateful for LilyPichu to be a part of our game!
Being long-time fans ourselves, we can’t wait to share more footage of Lily as Fasaria - but that will come at a later time.
For now, hope you’ve enjoyed this snippet of what’s to come!
Stay tuned for more updates… and more lovely ladies, of course! Follow us on Twitter and join the game’s Discord server for more info!

Thank you for your feedback! 😍 You gave a lot of wonderful ideas on how to develop the game in the future. We are ready for a long adventure with you! 🤖⭐✨ On Tuesday, we will upload the first patch improving the issues you've reported! 💕
For now, we've got another surprise, perfect for the weekend - some cool bundles! 🎁 More games, more fun 🎮
Retchid is a methodical, atmospheric shooter inspired by shooters from the early 2000's set on Jupiter's moon Titan. While mining for various minerals the TEC has discovered some old ruins beneath surface. Unfortunately all communication was lost, so you, a service technician flew out from Earth to Titan to inspect what's going on, probably a broken satellite......
The Demo is an Alpha Work In Progress, includes a remixed version of E1M2 - Maintenance Facility, a place where machinery is repaired and the Rovers are maintained. Retchid's Level Design is designed to be non-linear, no guidance, harking back to more traditional Level Design found in the mid to late 90s games. There's plenty of side areas, secrets and some puzzles to solve.
We've included 5 weapons for you to dismember or gib enemies with:
TEC-Tazer - A mid ranged electric zap, can hold for a charge to hit multiple objects.
TEC-SMG - Mass produced weapon the TEC-Sec guards use.
Combat Shotgun - These were brought in after the ruins were discovered to increase security measures, includes a stun light to daze non-compliant TEC employees.
Rocket Launcher - Used by the engineers down in the mines to blast away hard rock
Methane Rifle - Designed by the leading heads of the TEC-SciTech division. harnesses processed methane in to hot plasma balls.
Some of the enemies in Retchid are a bit more mobile, they like to reposition, dodge and weave your gun fire and will try and flank your position if possible, but not always. In the Demo you will encounter 6 archetypes(with a few variations on some of the human enemies):
TEC Melee and Pistol Humans - slowly being corrupted, but still maintain some humanity.... the meddling of Eldritch and Human DNA wasn't meant to be.
TEC-Sec guards - With stronger fortitude than regular TEC employees they carry out their training against anything they feel is a threat.
Chaos Mutants - when the DNA infusion in to Humans doesn't devolve in to a moldy growth they mutate in to a mid ranged Melee horror, rumors are they continue to evolve further.....
Destructor - Front line units from the Abyss. Strong, agile, can close in fast with a Sword or blast away with it's cannonball blunderbuss.
Abyss Stalker - Small flying units that will hunt you down from the air, highly mobile.
Mi-Go - Unknown capabilities.

We are happy to announce that Contraband Police will take part in this year's Steam Next Fest: June 2022!
We invite you to our live-stream where we will tell a few words about our team and we will play the latest Contraband Police demo. There will also be an opportunity to answer your questions in the chat!
I'm thrilled to announce: the third and final big update for Slipways is coming out on June 23rd, just in time for a nice sale happening across all the stores. If you've been waiting to pick up a copy for yourself or a friend, this will be the best and cheapest opportunity to grab one!
If you already own the game, I hope you're as excited as I am! May this new update bring you joy during these coming months, be it on vacation or after a hot day at work.
What's in it?
Let me refer you to the previous post, which has a nice buletted list of things planned for the update.
Things have been going well and I'm happy to tell you that all five campaign missions are done and are now going through internal tests. I might be biased, but I feel this batch is the best one yet in terms of variety and gameplay.
The modding support is also coming along nicely. I just finalized Steam Workshop support yesterday and basic mods are already working well. I'm still improving the modding experience and adding more flexibility to the engine.
Most of the smaller gameplay additions are also ready. There are some cool new techs and perks for all council members, plus quite a few fresh sector quirks to shake up the game in standard and ranked.
Speaking of other gameplay modes, I'm also planning some smaller surprises for those of you who prefer ranked and endless. These are still waiting to be implemented, but there is a pretty good chance they'll fit into the schedule.
That's where we're at! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some code to write, which means...
