TL;DR A bug caused scores to be too high previously, but now that's fixed. High scores will be reset tomorrow so they aren't impossible to beat.
Hey everyone! This is just a quick update about high scores. You may have noticed the most recent hotfix significantly reduced your scores.
These scores are actually correct, and previous high scores were a bug. Every time any enemy died, the highest point value ship was being counted due to a funky interaction with loot rolls. When I fixed the loot dropping problem with bosses, I fixed the scoring bug inadvertently (I feel sheepish).
This means that you won't be able to beat your previous high scores, currently. I'm going to be updating score values tomorrow anyway, so when I do that, I will be resetting everyone's high scores. This is what Early Access is for, luckily!
Please be aware that we will be conducting scheduled maintenance on Steam Knight Online Servers and service will be temporarily unavailable.

New text chat system
You can now communicate with the whole team using text chat :
You can also use a parallel chat only visible to Corrupted Souls! this will allow you to strategize without getting caught.
Matchmaking
You can now find a game with players who are not necessarily your friends!
Matchmaking games are limited to 6 players, and you can use the chat to communicate.
Special Rooms
During your game you can find special rooms on the way with special new mechanics.
Chests Room
You have two chests in front of you, one chest gives you a reward and the other a penalty, you have to try to find the right chest knowing that the corrupted souls know which one is trapped.
Sacrifice Room
The sacrifice room allows you to sacrifice a member of your team in order to have an additional key in exchange.
This room uses a voting system, the player with the most votes after time runs out will be sacrificed
The Gargoyle Room
In this room you must dodge the fireballs as long as possible knowing that they appear step by step and bounce off the walls, if you are the last survivor of this ordeal you will be rewarded with an exploration of your choice.
New Corrupted Soul Powers
Corrupted souls now have the option to trap a room of their choice with the power they randomly received at the start of the game.
Curse Room
The curse power allow to curse a room, a cursed room will open a random door regardless of the players will
Power of fog
The fog power allows you to fog a room, a foggy room allows you to hide the distance when a player is exploring in this same room.
Power of imprisonment
The Power of Imprisonment allows you to imprison a player who explores this room, when a player is imprisoned he can be released at any time by the team.
Global Gameplay Balancing
From now on an algorithm analyzes the characteristics of the dungeon at each game and gives a number of keys and torches accordingly.
Improved ergonomics
From now on, to launch an event, you must interact with objects :

Cross platform mobile
You can now play with players on mobile, IOS and Android
Dark Essence drops now round up to 1 before any bonuses are applied. This means if you're on a 2x Daily Challenge, drops that were previously 1 will now be 2. Previously, drops of 1 might have internally been 0.25, so doubling would go to 0.5 and still round to 1. This change will result in more Dark Essence drops when first unlocking the mechanic but have no effect on late game.
UI/QOL
Added a new setting under General on the Desktop/Steam version to toggle Discord Rich Presence off or set it to update only on Portal.
Moved Void Map drop messages out of the "Secondary" category and in to their own "Void Maps" category in the message config window.
Added a mouseover tooltip to displayed Helium per Hour explaining what it is.
Added a line to the Trapper2 Challenge stating that bonuses that cause housing to come prefilled with Trimps will not work.
Added a setting under Performance to disable Dimensional Generator animations
Added an alert to the Portal confirmation popup if no Challenge is selected but at least one is available (including repeatable Challenges). This message can also be disabled with a new setting under Pop-ups and Alerts.
Bug Fixes
PlayFab and Steam Cloud Save conflict checking now better supports progress made in U2
Updated AutoGolden's tooltip to better match its current unlock requirement
Updated the half-full Frenzy star icon to better match the other Frenzy icons in size
Fixed a typo in the Relentlessness unlock message
Fixed a typo in the Smithy unlock message
Importing a save file without Gardens unlocked over a save file with Gardens unlocked no longer leaves Gardens as a selectable Biome.
Radonculous from the Bone Trader in U2 now properly states that it's disabled on C3 rather than C2
Karma (Daily Challenge Modifier that grants increased Loot for the Zone after killing an Enemy) now properly scales production based loot
The tooltip for the 'Alerting' option now properly says the alert icons are blue instead of yellow if using Dark Theme
Fixed an issue that could cause Time Warp to be extremely slow in some rare cases
Finding Bones in a Spire now properly immediately updates the count on the Bone Trader button
Shields no longer mention Trainers until they start providing Block
Fixed a display bug where displayed damage would not decrease when leaving Scrying formation against a Corrupt enemy with Scryhard I active
Updated the Decay Challenge description to properly indicate that stacks reset on each new Zone rather than just when Blimps are killed.
Fixed an issue where your Trimps wouldn't automatically start fighting when a map repeats if AutoFight is disabled and you paused the game less than 1 second before finishing your last map
Partially fixed a rare and hard-to-reproduce issue where certain U2 conditions could cause enemy health to increase above their max health during Time Warp. This partial fix will check if your current cell's health is greater than its max health when Time Warp ends, and reset the health if so.

Development for 5.8.0 is currently underway, which will include some speedups for the early game, as well as some interesting new content for late game. Added 'Ship Enhancement' crafting (Ship Upgrade): You can add permanent special bonuses to your ship model, which costs materials similar to item crafting and can be of 3 Tiers. The amount of enhancements slots depend on the ship rarity with certain bonuses or penalties from role, faction or other perks. You cannot have more than 1 Tier 3 enhancement or 2 Tier 2, on the same ship model. Enhancement bonuses can be removed to be replaced, but you don't get the materials back, and they affect your fleet ships.
Changed 'Ship Graveyards' to 'Debris Field'.
Added a new sector type called 'Ship Graveyard', which is essentially a 'No control' zone, with lots of dangers and many debris fields to scavenge. Special missions will be added on it later on.
Added a special Debris Field which can be harder to spot among other stuff and won't show up on scanners unless you are on top of it. It doesn't drop energy cells but yields more scrap/refined metal, and it always drops loot despite your Tech Level difference.
Improved Minimap and Sector map: The minimap is now more accurate to your scanner range. Added a ring to represent the range in which you detect small objects (loot), and another one to represent your scanner range while the sector map is open.
Added 'Destroyer' Ship role. Destroyers receive +20% damage bonus on large weapons (4 space or more), as well as certain bonuses to their broadside turrets. Currently, only the Titan and Hephaestus are 'destroyers'.
Added 'Corsair' Ship role, which adds 5% Crew efficiency and +1 Ship Enhancement slot. Models that received Corsair role, so far, are: Seagul, Valor, Dorothy, Geraki, Venom, Raven, Fortuna.
Several ships received 'Interceptor' role: Luna, Feisar, Screamer, Zeep, Squire, V1I-A, Triton, Reaper, Phantom, Razor.
Added special crewmember: Gottchar, which is mining focused.
Perk Tooltip now show how to unlock it while starting a new game.
Repair beams are now craftable.
Increased Tech Level gained from crafting.
Mining Drones now automatically engage another asteroid after destroying one.

After scrapping/destroying/selling/jettisoning an item, it will try to select the closest item in the list. This should improve inventory management.
Increased chance to drop Fine Components and Superior Components from enemies and hideouts.
Added chance to obtain an extra basic ore from mining, which is equal to your geology as a percentage. Example: 25 Geology will give you 1 extra ore for each 4 asteroids (25% chance). This should balance out the amount of scrap and refined metal obtained through refining ores, which gets reduced as your geology increases and you get less ore.
Fixed BUG that would prevent acquisition of 'Defender' Perk when doing more than 80% damage to the fleet while having 'The Last Starfighter' already.
Fixed BUG that would prevent warping even when you had enough energy.
Fixed BUG that sold stashed items when shift + right clicking fleet ships.
Fixed Railgun or other big projectiles not colliding with the target when using explode modifier.
