POSTAL: Brain Damaged - Mruqe
In just one week everything you thought you knew about yourself, the universe, and everything else is going to change. Posing as a video game, our Hyperstrange broadcast will go directly into your subconsciousness, planting images and ideas in your mind. Images too disturbing for the eyes, ideas to risque for words. You will never be the same again. And you’ll enjoy every last second of „playing” POSTAL: Brain Damaged (PBD for short). But before we delve even further, take a moment, and click that "WISHLIST" button, if you haven't done so already.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1359980/POSTAL_Brain_Damaged/

There’s a lot that you need to know about the „game”, to ensure proper mass digital inception on 6/9, at 9am Pacific Time, so make sure you won't be disturbed for the next few minutes to properly ingest and digest the following true statements.

PBD is POSTAL re-imagined by Hyperstrange

POSTAL: Brain Damaged is an official SPIN-OFF to Running With Scissors' legendary series of games, and it was designed, developed and co-published by Hyperstrange, a Polish indie development and publishing studio. More important than the game’s linage is its re-imagining of the series gameplay. The POSTAL series is known for its open-ended, make-your-own-fun, sand-boxy style. Nothing of sorts in PBD.

Come prepared for a fast-paced, old-school shooter with some state-of-the-art throwback graphics, hand-crafted levels, and gameplay more challenging and adrenaline-filled than in any other previous POSTAL game. This is a whole new experience for the POSTAL fan, and a great way to dip a toe into the POSTAL series to every first-person shooter enjoyer.

PBD is (more than) a boomer-shooter

We took the essence of the modern-day boomer-shooter, poured it over a looking-glass image of the POSTAL universe, and injected some DOOM Eternal gameplay dynamics into the pot. The game wears its inspirations proudly on its sleeve and anyone who’s been riding the recent tidal wave of boomyshooties will feel right at home. But for every idea PBD borrows it throws in two original ones, and it makes sure the first one has been cranked up to 11.

PBD is a world filled with STUFF

Since this is all a fantasy we’ve had the liberty to go absolute ham on the environment, enemy, and weapon design. In well over a dozen levels each is presented in a different theme, built from the grounds up in a different style ranging from cartoon caricature, through horror and science-fiction, to pure psychedelia. Nickelodeon toon humor is mixed with nightmarish weirdness, colors are saturated, the shapes are wobbly, and the whole experience will feel much like falling down the rabbit hole. A Doctor Seuss storybook illustrated by H.R. Giger.

If DOOM Eternal was the main gameplay inspiration to PBD, the art style and level design will remind you of such amazing games as American McGee’s Alice, Psychonauts, KISS: Psycho Circus, and good old Quake. As Vince Desi, CEO of Running With Scissors said “POSTAL: Brain Damaged is a beautiful game. If you did acid when you were young, you'll tune in. If you haven't, you don't need to, just play POSTAL: Brain Damaged.

PBD has a lot of things to shoot at

The colorful, detailed, and varied world is populated with around 50 diverse enemy types that look and feel fresh and familiar at the same time. The game plays homage to many other FPS classics and modern hits, while it also taps directly into the cast of the POSTAL games, bringing back many of its characters in their new, twisted and skewed incarnations.

PBD has a lot of things to shoot with

Everyone knows their classic boomyshooty arsenal by heart. It’s pretty much the same golden standard since mid-1990s. On the other hand, POSTAL is well-known for its… avant-garde, creative approach to weaponry. Like with everything else, PBD takes familiar concepts and corrupts them with sick, fever-dream imagination.

You get a chainsaw shovel, a time-stopping nail gun, a brain-powered lightning gun, a bow that shoots wobbly pink… you’ll see. And every gun has multiple uses, alternate fire modes, and lots of animation. And if everything else fails, you can always kick - or drop kick! - the foes with your OP bunny slippers (which also grant you the power of… bunny hopping).

PBD is an official part of the POSTAL lore, but…

When asked „where on the POSTALVERSE continuum does PBD fall?” we like to say that it take’s the continuity behind the tool shed, shoots it dead, and then makes sweet love to its remains. This is not a paralel reality, more of a perpendicular one. It’s all a fever dream, happening in the Dude’s damaged, intoxicated brain.

Which Dude’s, you may ask. Ah! This is exactly THE right question. But there’s one more question that’s been bugging you, isn’t there?

PBD is inexpensive

We’ve been purposefully keeping our mouths shut about the game’s pricing. Some of you thought it a bad sign. Well, you can breath now, it’s exactly the opposite. Being a Polish studio we know exactly how important it is to make your game affordable on day-1 to all your players. So, let’s announce that price point in the most Slav way possible.

That’s right. $19.99 for the full game in standard edition. If you have more money tucked away for PBD, don’t worry - we’re happy to take it. The deluxe edition of the game - POSTAL: Brain Damaged Connoisseur Edition, as we like to call it, with the addition of the full OST and a digital art-book - will pop up around the time of the release, priced at $29.99, giving you the option to support us further the best way you can - with monies. Both the OST and the art-book will be available separately, or as an later upgrade if you decide to go easy on your wallet.

PBD will come in bundles & with launch-week discount

Final word about the pricing. Grabbing POSTAL: Brain Damaged in the week of the release will let you make use of the 15% special launch-week discount, that will last until Thursday, June 16, at 9:00am PDT. But that’s not all. We want to make sure to sweeten the deal even further for Hyperstrange friends, Running With Scissors crowd, and boomer-shooter fans in general. To that end, PBD will be available in a number of steam bundle deals upon launch, paired with other games such as our own ELDERBORN, Blood West, CROSSBOW: Bloodnight (currently in Humble Bundle), RWS titles - POSTAL 2 & POSTAL 4, and some other excellent boomyshootie staples from our indie dev friends (can you guess which?).

Thank you for your your cooperation. Your mental wiring has been re-adjusted in preparation for POSTAL: Brain Damaged. See you on 6/9, when you will buy the game, play the game, enjoy the game, praise the game, recommend the game, obsess about the game, dream about the game…

Your REAL friends and family,

When there are too many models or dances in the Installed list, in the previous version, the speed of switching models or dancing UI was too slow or even stuck for about few seconds.
After the deep optimization of this version, no matter how many models dance in the Installed list, it can be very smooth and instantly open in seconds. No more stuttering issues.

Changelog

- Added ISPs (Internet Service Providers) allowing the player to rent their own network to connect from their computers via ethernet or Wi-Fi as well as choosing the connection speed.

- The speed of the hard disk can affect the connection speed, which can cause bottlenecks. Make sure you have a fast hard drive if you also have a fast connection.

- Moved the server rental and the ConfigLan.exe program from the stores to the ISPs websites.

- When renting a server you can also choose the connection speed in the same way as when hiring your own network.

- Added option in the desktop network menu to enable or disable the Wi-Fi card, allowing you to disconnect from the internet at will. When you turn Wi-Fi back on, you need to manually select the network you want to connect to.

- Added option in the desktop network menu to be able to enable or disable the ethernet card.

- The new options in the networks menu will only be visible if the corresponding network cards are installed.

- Added "man" command that shows the help of other commands. This information will be expanded in future updates.

[Nightly] Update v0.8.4364a

- When activating the wifi from the network menu it automatically connects to the last network to which it had connected.

- When a player disconnects from the network completely, the connection of any other player connected to his computer is also interrupted.

- Fixed bug where the player computer didn't automatically connect to the home network using ethernet after a computer reboot if this was the last connection made.

- Fixed bug that caused a crash when trying to restore a home network from ConfigLan causing unexpected behavior.

- Fixed bug when turning on the ethernet card if the computer had previously been completely disconnected from the network, causing the browser, chat and other programs to not connect to the internet.

- Fixed bug that caused the connection to the home network not to be made correctly when activating the ethernet card if it was already connected to the network via Wi-Fi.

- Fixed bug whereby ConfigLan could show player computers under certain circumstances.

- Fixed bug that caused the computer to not disconnect from the home network after deleting the network from ConfigLan.

- Fixed bug that caused an erroneous calculation in the monthly payment after trying to restore the home network or a rented server.

- Fixed bug on the ISPs website that caused it to take you to the police reports page when pressing the Services button successively.
Via Mortis - Evilous
I have thought about this a lot wondering if I should improve it by replacing some stuff or keeping somethings the same with how minor it is. But I have decided to change certain things in the game:

>Replaced cyberpimp.ogg with a new brand song

>Changed some demon names and dialogue a tiny bit

The overall experience isn't changed, it is just some minor changes that needed to be made. This only affects one of the bosses in the game and it was made for the better.

tModLoader - Mirsario
Today we are changing the default tModLoader on Steam to the Terraria 1.4+ version. As you might know, we have had 1.4 tModLoader as an option on the Betas menu for quite some time as we've worked on new features to make modding and playing on 1.4 tModLoader a pleasant experience.

The current 1.3 version will still be available on Steam, you'll just need to select 1.3-legacy in the steam betas menu. We expect many of you will want to use this option until you finish your current playthrough of the game.

Please do not expect to be able to switch to 1.4 and continue using all the same mods you are currently using on 1.3. Many mods have unfortunately been retired, or otherwise have not yet been updated to 1.4. However, our workshop is already blooming with mods, and many relatively small & popular missing mods have already had alternatives created for them.

Click here to browse tModLoader's Steam Workshop right now.

1.4 tModLoader is still in active development
Although 1.4 tModLoader is now leaving the Alpha stage, we'd like to reiterate that it still remains in active development, with a continuous release cycle bringing new breaking changes on the 1st of each month. We have a system in place for actively maintained mods to continue working seamlessly as each month's update arrives, but that requires the modders to stay on top of updating their mod if required within the designated time period at the end of each month. More information on the modder maintenance workflow can be found in the following announcement:
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1281930/view/3189118991325681723

Beta Branches
To summarize, here are the available options:
default - This is the 1.4 version that we expect players to use
1.3-legacy - This is the latest 1.3 version. We expect many will want to use this if they are currently playing through the game.
1.4-preview - This branch contains upcoming changes. This is where we test new features. This is also where modders need to publish their mods during the last 10 days of the month if needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I switch to back to 1.3 tModLoader?
1. Right click on tModLoader in Steam and select 'Properties...', then 'BETAS';
2. Select '1.3-legacy' in the drop-down menu on top;
3. Close the window. You don't need to type any passwords!

How do I switch to 1.4-preview versions?
You might've already guessed.
Follow the steps listed above, but select '1.4-preview' on the second step instead.

I'm a GOG user! Where do I download TML?
Hello GOG user!
See our Github Releases for manual TML downloads.
And if you want a preview build - see our Github Actions instead, and download 'Release Build's at the bottom of the latest artifact's page.
Note: Downloading preview Github Actions builds will require logging into Github.

When will TML be 64-bit?
It's already 64-bit!
Specifically, it's what's called AnyCPU, but we currently only ship x86_64 natives. In addition to TML being made 64-bit-capable, it has been made to run on a ten years newer runtime (.NET 6+), far newer versions of a better game framework (FNA instead of XNA), and we've even unified what would've been 6 Windows/Linux/Mac Client/Server builds into just one portable release that can be run on every Desktop OS. Together, all of this yells: performance, consistency, stability, possibilities, and comfort.

I have a 32-bit OS, will it be supported?
Sorry, but not yet. We've had plans to re-add support for 32-bit Windows systems in June's stable update, but didn't make it in time, so it'll arrive later either this month, or in July.

Why was this delayed?
It happens.
Here's a chicken.
