Crusader: Dungeon Series Playtest - BlkDragon_29thACR
Minor Update: Updated Damage dealt as requested by several players. Added Random monster spawns to increase the difficulty because the Damage has increased. Added Option (during game play) to the Options menu to adjust the lighting (some reported the dungeon was too dark). Added more lighting in the darker areas.
I realize how bad this looks, but I need to delay Content Patch #15 yet again. I estimate that the patch only needs a few more days of development, but I've come to not trust my judgement of how long this kind of update will take.
Since the in-game update timer is effectively inaccurate, I've decided to remove it for the time being. I would like to add it back to the game once I'm 100% certain how much development time is still needed on a Content Patch.
Content Patch #15 will still release on a Friday at 1 PM EST. I will announce which Friday that'll be once I'm fully confident I know how much dev time is left.
Thank you very much for your understanding and patience,
-Dan
Changes
Temporarily removed in-game timer (it will be re-added once I'm 100% certain how much development time is needed on a Content Patch)
It's June! Summer is here (for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere). And that means... staying inside in the AC working on your game. Man, it is hot out there. And we have new releases to carry you through! This week we have a new all in one retro style graphics pack and a plugin for enhancing your game with particle effects.
There are many retro packs out there, but their biggest flaw is that most of them cover just a small portion of the graphics you need for a game, such as the battlers or maybe the tiles. The 8bit Retro Graphic Materials All-in-One Pack stands out, as it is REALLY an all in one pack!
It doesn't just include all the tiles to make an extensive fantasy game from the deepest dungeon to the highest tower and even a matching world map, no! There is an extensive collection of heroes and NPCs - human, animal and monster! And not only do all of them come with a matching face graphic, but all the heroes have SV battlers and there are even unique battle weapons to go with this new style!
And if you'd rather use a front view system, each actor also comes with a unique battler for that style as well, as well as basically everything you could want to battle in such a setting, such as sandworms, trolls and skeletons, just to name a few. And if you now think, wow, that is a really well rounded set, there is even more: with 93 different animation sheets you can create the matching animation for basically every spell or attack you might need, plus it includes everything you need for your UI: buttons, icons, balloons and the windowskin have all been taken care of. There are even battlebacks and a wide selection of premade title screens and overlays you can combine with them!
If you ever wanted to make a game that just looks and feels like the JRPGs you played on your handheld many many years ago, you don’t have to look any further: all you need is this and you are set!
Does your fire dungeon need some flickers of sparks floating in the air and smoke rising from pillars of flames? Do your rivers and ponds need ripples as raindrops hit them while your heroes run to get out of the storm? Do your heroes need to kick up some cartoony clouds of dirt while they run? Then it’s time to check out Particle System Plugin - TRP Particle MZ! Thirop Games. is here with a set of plugins to help your particle dreams come true!
With a wide selection of preset particles to choose from, you can easily add some impressive effects to your maps. Have your campfires send smoke into the sky while fireflies lazily float around the edges of your camp, or turn up the heat in a volcano with angry red magma highlights and raging fires spewing out of cracks in the ground. When your heroes explore the icy tundra make sure that there are snowflakes falling on them, or make the empty plains dangerous to cross because of a cascade of lightning bolts raining from the clouds! You can even send your heroes to the bottom of the sea (in a protective air bubble of course) where the entire map ripples and shadows of fish swim overhead.
Beyond the presets, this pack also includes an edit function to help you tweak your particles to perfectly fit your map. No need to adjust a number in an event and then playtest to see it in action, this edit function lets you do it all while the game is running so you can see all the changes as you make them! This barely scratches the surface of this particle system, so if you’ve ever wanted to add some extra sparkles to your game check out Particle System Plugin - TRP Particle MZ today!
