As part of setting EVE up forever, we remain committed to delivering continual improvements that make EVE the most beautiful and immersive sci-fi game. Some of those changes are now available on the Singularity test server, while others will be added over the next few weeks.

Get lost in the sensory experience

Several visual and audio updates are available to experience on Sisi, including high-resolution nebulas, improvements to cloud visuals and audio in certain areas of space. Engine sounds are also getting an update and rebalance, in particular for other ships than your own. Additionally, an update to texture compression and packing will enable you to experience every asset in the game - including these updated elements - with higher visual fidelity than ever before, and with minimal impact on client performance.

Furthermore, in preparation for enabling DirectX12 we are planning mass test next week. DirectX 12 is key to modernizing EVE and laying the foundations for the third decade and is a crucial part of the narrative journey that lies ahead in New Eden.

A fresh new look for Career Agents

After their first introduction to New Eden, many Capsuleers engage with Career Agents to help get their bearings. The first phase of the Career Agent update is still underway but will introduce a visual overhaul of all dungeons and environments to make them more visually stimulating and modern. In addition, the Enforcer Career Agent will introduce guidance highlights and tooltips to aid new players, as well as a whole new and modern look for the agent conversation window when using Photon UI. Furthermore you will see the local text messages and other pop-ups move to the transmission window.



We are taking the Nodegraph editor, originally built for the AIR NPE, and co-opting this technology for missions and dungeons, beginning with Career Agent missions. This will enable more interactive experiences and build up a library of actions and events which will ultimately lead to faster development of new content and experiences. A bright future of scripted and flexible experiences awaits!

Learnings from this first phase will inform the next steps in the modernization of EVE’s agents.

Great things sometimes come in small packages

On our path to modernize the EVE experience, the new Photon UI focuses on improving and modernizing the UI so that it is easy to grasp, even if it remains hard to master. Taking player feedback into account, you can now test out Compact Mode for select windows on Singularity. We prioritized those windows where information density is important, such as the overview, D-Scan, Chat and Fleet windows, People & Places, and more.



To enable Compact Mode, click on the "More" button adjacent to the “Close” button in the upper right-hand corner of the active window. From here, select the Compact Mode option from the drop-down menu that appears.

Make sure to enable Photon UI in the feature preview system on Singularity and provide your feedback on Compact Mode.

1. fix the bug that the rarity of common and rare cards are switched
2. fix a bug that causes the game to get crashed and not proceed in certain situations
3. fix the bug that Thorn Armor gets stuck after using the last 1 point of cost
4. fix the bug that the first time you take down a city, there is a high probability that the commander, the unparalleled general and the dawn will appear
5. fix the bug that the restriction of the soul still exists after the enemy is defeated
6. repair the soul activation mechanism
7. fix the bug that players can no longer recruit general through in-game events after they have upgraded
8. fix the bug that Guan Yu's damage will be inherited
9. fix the bug that Wu Sheng+ does not add damage when gaining extra resource points
10. fix the bug that if you select a general too quickly in the general interface, the general will be duplicated
11. fix the bug that the ironing stone does not respond after being clicked
12. repair the bug that players may get stuck in the battle of Diao Chan
13. fix the bug where you can not select lower difficulty

The next update will be around end of June.

1428: Shadows over Silesia - pkubicek
The game's release date is inevitably approaching! September 6 will be around in the blink of an eye. But you can sugar-coat the wait with the demo, which is out now. It contains the entire first chapter and gives you a taste of most of the game's mechanics.



A dark fantasy adventure with true historical events in the background can begin. Europe is in the middle of religious upheaval and many preachers predict that the end of the world is near. The year is 1428 and the Hussites have just set out on their Silesian campaign. These heretics appear to be the biggest threat in the kingless country. But true evil of a completely different kind is lurking nearby and it does not intend to engage in religious disputes.

To celebrate the release of the demo, there will be two developer live streams. One will be in English and the other in Czech. Keep up to date with Steam NEXT Fest news and events.

May is over and that means, new devlog to bring you closer to the development of Desolatium!

360 PHOTOS - DESIGN

We keep focused on editing the 360 photos of the different locations, here are some of them. There are many little things to change: light, texture, elements that don’t fit the athmosphere and others that need to be added, or even replaced:


First one is the original image, then we edited the colors making the scene at night, and adding some lights. Finally we replaced the name of the original bar by the bar in the game. We also changed the car number plate, hope you guess where the numbers and letters comes from when you play ;)


This location looks like a common room, except from something… Easy to see, right?

CHARACTERS

Yes, not only you will face lovecraftian creatures, but also “normal” people like these security guards you will need to talk with if you want to advance!


Both are ready to go!

OBJECTS

As you probably already know, in Desolatium there are plenty of elements you will find and use. Why would you need this little statue? Who knows… But you better save it in your inventory just in case!


And here is the before/after of this month! A glass pipette texturized and ready to introduce it on the scene.

Hey folks,

It's been a little over a month since the game launched and I'm blown away by the response it's received!

This is my first commercial project, so it's been an incredible feeling to watch Streamers play with their audiences, speedrunners break and tear the code apart, and modders start making mods for the game. Not to mention the 94% positive reviews out of ~600 on Steam!

This whole experience has been incredibly humbling, I can't wait to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch, and to release some more content updates.
