LEMURIA - alexander.towse
Dear friends, update 1.0.1 has been published. New features added, modifications made based on user feedback.
User interface
  1. The settings section is divided into several sub-sections with a small number of controls in each of them.
  2. The number of varieties of indicators that appear on the screen has been reduced, and their number itself has been reduced.
  3. The Target indicators have become uniform and stand out well.
  4. Load counter became more proportional to the longest possible intervals of loading scenes.
  5. Axis control inversion is now possible.
  6. The end of an episode is now announced not only by a log entry, but also by a special splash screen.
  7. Fixed wrong localizations of some dialog lines and journal entries.
  8. Fixed empty hints.
Launch options
  1. All aspect ratios and screen resolutions are now possible. Note that you still should not run the game at a horizontal resolution less than 1600.
  2. Running in windowed mode and switching between windowed and screened modes is now possible.
Gameplay
  1. The game now more actively instructs the user about the current task and how to perform it, highlighting the right places in the location, setting goal and exit indicators from the level, especially in the first chapters.
  2. At the beginning, the user is shown how to change control sensitivity without going to the main menu.
  3. In the first chapter, the number of turrets now depends on the difficulty level: there are no turrets on Easy, on Normal 2 and on Heavy 3.
  4. Reduced the number of enemies in the infection ward.

Thanks to everyone who helped with their feedback and support to get this update out!

This week we'll be showcasing and testing the following updates we recently made:

  • Running Boots More testing with Running Boots, fixed some visual bugs and added a toggle.
  • Up/Down Blocks We made a change to the Up/Down blocks so if anything is on top of a down block when it changes, it will stay down. We're going to test around with that.
  • Player start location changes We made changes to how player start locations work, we'll be testing around with those as well!

GDEX/Origins is June 9th-12th, we will be there with Super Dungeon Designer so swing by our booth to check it out!

We'll be interacting with the chat so feel free to come chat with us and share any questions or suggestions you might have about the game.

Shield Cat: The Lost Conductor - Roxanne
You know when I put a new build, a patch will soon follow LOL here it is. There are only changes and bug fixes in this one, but please make sure that you've got it as it does fix some input issues and a game crash. Here are the details!

===== CHANGED =====
  • Moved a tree in the big pit room in Abandoned Mines to make it clear that you're not supposed to rely on it to stop you from spinning, but also still prevent you from spinning too far and leaving the area.
  • Also adjusted the timing on the platform to make it easier to interact with.
  • The platform in the shield toss puzzle in the top right of the Abandoned Mines was moved out more to make it clearer you're supposed to use the sprint button while throwing.
  • Also added a sign nearby to make it clear to the player how to sprint-toss.
  • The game now requires 7 buttons minimum of any gamepad you'd like to use with it. This shouldn't be a problem, but I just wanted to make that clear.
  • Colors used for highlights in dialogue have been adjusted for clarity.
  • Adjusted some sounds so they wouldn't be so loud compared to other sounds.
  • Changed some dialogue signs to make what they say clearer and fit into the game world more.

===== BUG FIXES =====
  • Fixed a bug where the game would suggest "A" if the input was not actually mapped to anything. Now it should say "Not Mapped."
  • Fixed a bug where the game would show "Unknown Input" sometimes despite actually knowing about the input.
  • Fixed a bug (hopefully) where Shield Cat would still accept some garbage input devices by adding further checks for them (Mainly affects Steam Deck, but I don't own one, so I can only put the code and hope for the best.)
  • Fixed a bug where some parts of the code would skip the input verification routine and allow non-gamepad devices through (mainly an issue on Linux.)
  • Fixed a bug where the Marker Placement subscreen on the Map Screen would show an input prompt it shouldn't have shown.
  • Fixed a bug with Lance's interaction with the Mushroom Boss in Deep Woods.
  • Fixed some depth issues with the roofs in the Lignum Village.
  • Fixed a bug where the game would crash when going to the Minecart challenge (mainly on Linux.)

ARK: Survival Evolved - complexminded
Welcome to another edition of the Community Crunch!

Fjordhawk makes its Creature Spotlight debut in the Community Crunch this week!

Fjordhawk can be a useful companion if you're able to forge a bond with one by taming it. This playful species has made a game of tasks you might find daunting. If you need to fetch something, Fjordhawk can fly to nearby targets and retrieve them for you!

Fjordhawk makes its appearance when Fjordur releases in June 2022!!

The free DLC map, Fjordjur, is right around the corner! Here's a quick summary if you're looking for the dossiers of the new creatures. Will Andrfewsarchus, Desmodus, or Fjordhawk be your first tame on Fjordur?

Serving as the first winner of the Community Creature Vote, Andrewsarchus makes its way to Fjordur packing an arsenal of utility! Andrewsarchus may seem sluggish while foraging for a meal, but they can move unexpectedly fast when provoked. Once tamed, its saddle will allow you to mount a minigun to the back of it!

Announced as the third creature to land on Fjordur, Desmodus was the second winner of the Community Creature Vote! The original creature submission garnered a lot of attention and the rest is ARK community history! Desmodus won (39,781 votes) vs. Carcharodontosaurus (24,419 votes) in the 9th and final round!

As you might imagine, Desmodus prefers to hang out in dark places, waiting for its unsuspecting prey! If you're lucky enough to tame one, you can send Desmodus to snatch up small prey or saddle up and vanish into the darkness.

Looking to dive right into the action, Fjordhawk can forge close bonds with humans as wholeheartedly as any canine or primate. A tamed Fjordhawk is a surprisingly playful companion that is very capable of fetching targets that you point out. A well-trained Fjordhawk can locate injured prey and communicate its find to you.

There will be an ongoing EVO Event from Friday, May 20th until Monday, May 23rd. You can find the rates below:

*Note that these bonuses are multiplicative of the game's standard 1x rates.
  • Official Servers: 2x XP, Harvesting, Taming

  • ARKPocalypse: 5x XP, Harvesting, Taming
  • Classic: 6x XP, Harvesting, Taming

"Happened a couple hours ago, was taming forest titan.

I begin putting all the tributes into the terminal, throwing out my mek, and activating the teleporter. Fast forwards 5 minutes, all is going well, minimal damage taken from both him to me and me to him. i take the final shot i had left in my cannon module.. direct hit! his arm falls down to the poisonous ground below. He looks at the damage i've caused, and roars. Swinging and swatting left to right at the forest wyverns like mosquitoes on a hot summers night. He takes a swing at me, shooting a large vine of roots and leaves.. my game freezes. I sit there praying i haven't crashed, fast forwards 30 seconds, all is good. I begin the shooting process until his 2nd arm snaps and falls. All that is left is one target. I begin shooting once again and he stops in his tracks, and raises his two hands, (as though he was surrendering) and stands their, allowing me to take down that final node, freezing him from the prison that was forcing him to do cruel and unspeakable things to others. He cried out in pain and freedom as he falls to the ground, unconscious. I look at my own two hands realising that i have finally taken down the forest titan. Solo. I give him a tap on the head, and he awakens, THE FOREST TITAN HAS BEEN TAMED beams onto my screen. Victory. I look at the forest titan, realising it was an alpha tame!

Next time:

The icy king yeti thingmebobwhateveridkwhattocallit becomes my personal stead into battle against the king of shadows. But will i succeed?"

Game Dashboard - disruptivesoft
A somewhat elaborate update, with something for everyone:
  • New Dark Theme is now available, with several enhancements to the old themes as well.
  • Window size is now displayed, warning if there is a mismatch relative to the rendering output, which results in image quality degradation (can happen in games like Borderlands and Sekiro). Mouse handling now works correctly even in these cases.
  • Added new Override Buffers feature, that can be used to minimize latency further and fix performance problems due to incorrect game configuration (currently doesn't support Vulkan; will be enabled later). Since it emulates app modifications it is still somewhat experimental, so if you run into issues use the Desktop Test to disable the feature before restarting the game. It is recommended to enable this when playing old DirectX 9 games with VSync, as it can result in noticeable performance and game-play benefits with specific titles (e.g. Duke Nukem Forever).
  • Real-time latency control is now enabled for all DirectX 12 games.
  • Added CPU Clock speed information. Note that the values reported to apps and those displayed in the Windows Task Manager may be inconsistent, so to test changes accurately it's best to set a Windows power-saving mode.
  • Vulkan processing was simplified, to hopefully improve compatibility with other software. If someone still has issues with this please submit a proper troubleshooting report.
  • Improvements to the Desktop Test: Full DPI-compliance in Windows versions that support dynamic DPI changes (Windows 11 and recent updates of Windows 10), resulting in sharper rendering when the Scale is not 100%. It also uses the most efficient rendering mode in modern Windows, when available.
As usual the software doesn't modify external settings, so it's best to always set any related graphics card driver settings to "application-controlled" (or the equivalent).
