In this digest we would like to tell you about our continuing work on improvements and fixes in the game.


Introducing the suspended weapons editor



We have already talked about the customization of suspended weaponry presets in the devblog. With the release of this update new features are now available for the Mirage F1C, Su-22UM3K, MiG-23MLA, https://wiki.warthunder.com/F-104S.ASA, J-8B, A-10A Thunderbolt II (early) and A-10A Thunderbolt II (late). For each suspended node you can select a different weaponry option from those already researched while taking into account the ammunition weight.

In total you can create up to 20 custom weapon presets. You can create and edit weapon variants in the hangar before a flight. In battle, you will be able to select between already created presets which will allow you to easily and quickly select before re-spawning using the most useful in the current situation the weaponry preset.


Working on the hard-kill active protection systems



We are continuing to improve our game’s big new feature - the hard-kill active protection systems featured on the Challenger 2 Black Night and T-55AMD-1. We have doubled their repair speed in case you have damaged it in the battle and also speeded up by a quarter the replenishment time of the APS at captured points. And of course we have fixed some minor bugs like the icon of the APS replenishment staying on the screen after a death.


An important improvement with aircraft markers



This issue might be faced by every pilot in battles of high ranked (and also very fast) aircraft. Markers! Such an important part of the game interface of the AB and RB modes sometimes behaves unpredictably - a marker for the enemy might appear only at close range or conversely can be displayed at a perfectly acceptable and correct distance.

We worked hard on this mechanic and now marker behaviour will become much more predictable. Even an inexperienced crew will spot the enemy at distances of 4 km and an experienced ace crew will surely spot the enemy and report it even from 8 km.

Also keep in mind tactical tricks: the crew sees the enemy better in the direction of its view and very poorly behind. Therefore “sneaking up” on some fighter from the rear hemisphere or preferably under his belly is still a great tactical trick.

Warm-up your seeker



We have fixed a bug that prevented aircraft missile seekers warm-up with the “Drop/launch” button, forcing you to activate your missiles with another button “Seeker lock-on”. All good now, seekers warm up easily with the same button you regularly use to unleash hell on your enemies.

Strv bulkhead in action



The design of this lineup of the Swedish vehicles included an armoured bulkhead between the engine and the main combat compartment. It could cover against shrapnel but it didn’t work against overpressure mechanics. We have found the cause of the error and fixed it. Now such vehicles like Strv 103-0, Strv 103A and Strv 103С will feel a little more protected.

Destroying friendship

And only between players that use the Steam client, where it was simply impossible to delete a player from your friends list.

Well it’s not up to us to judge the reasons for breaking your friendship but now this feature works correctly.

Ground vehicles
  • A bug has been fixed where the reload indicator of the hard-kill active protection remains after a respawn when a previous vehicle was destroyed while reloading the protection system rounds.
  • Repair time of the hard-kill protection has been halved.
  • Reload time of the hard-kill protection rounds has been reduced by 25%.
  • Vickers Mk.7 — a bug has been fixed with overestimated repair time for optics.
  • M50 — a bug has been fixed that resulted in overestimated recoil impulse of the recoilless rifles.
  • Centauro I 120 — a bug has been fixed that resulted in overestimated recoil impulse of the 120mm main gun (report).
  • Challenger 2 TES, Challenger 2 (2F) — the stabilizer has been added to the Enforcer Remote Weapon Station (report).
  • Strv 103-0, Strv 103A, Strv 103С — a bug has been fixed that resulted in overpressure damage to the crew when the engine compartment is destroyed.
  • Machbet — a bug has been fixed that prevented automatic range setup from laser rangefinder.
  • AMX-10RC — a bug has been fixed where HUD indicated stabilizer mode is on when the vehicle lacks stabilizer.
  • M4A3 (105) — calibre of the smoke round has been fixed (report).
  • Search-and-track radars with plan position indicators now have 360 deg. lock-on capability. This option allows locking on target without moving a turret to its direction. This update is available for:

    • VEAK 40
    • Chieftain Marksman
    • AMX-30 DCA
    • ZSU-23-4
    • ZSU-37-2
  • ZSU-23-4 — several radar modes have been added in 30° and 90° sectors. Actual radar features variable searching sector in 30…90° range.
Aircraft
  • Kfir C.2, Mirage F1C, Su-22UM3K, MiG-23MLA, F-104S.ASA, J-8B, A-10A Thunderbolt II (early), A-10A Thunderbolt II (late) — custom weapon setups are now available.
  • A bug has been fixed with AAM seeker warm-up by pressing the “drop/launch” button (report).
  • A bug has been fixed that prevented SPI set in the air for aircraft with optical lock-on (e.g. MiG-27K, Jaguar GR.1A, etc.).
  • AD-2 — a bug has been fixed that required the Tiny Tim modification to be researched for opening the 2,000 lbs bombs.
Naval
  • Groza — firing angles over the ship’s bow have been corrected.
  • Admiral Hipper, Prinz Eugen — firing angles have been corrected at the bow’s davits.
  • IJN Ikoma — circulation angle has been reduced.
  • IJN Syonan — the type of the main calibre guns have been corrected.
Other fixes
  • Flickering of some objects (trees, etc) at high graphical settings have been fixed (report).
  • A bug has been fixed that resulted in decals removal from vehicles by the application crash.
  • A bug has been fixed that prevented removing friends from the friend list of the Steam version of the game.
  • “Awards” button in the “Achievements” menu has become brighter.
  • A bug has been fixed where icons and names of vehicles in local and server replays of the Realistic and Simulator battles were displayed only for players from the left column of the statistics chart.
  • A bug has been fixed where enemy aircraft markers were displayed at shorter distances than stated in the crew skills.
  • Position of the sun, moon and stars now correspond to the actual latitude/longitude.
  • Time delay of placing marks on the minimap has been reduced from 30 to 1 second.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.

Important Updates

1. The Lotus Voyage Sign-In Event

The spring cherry blossoms are blooming. The King of the Celestials has come to the Courtyard for a reunion. Go on a fieldtrip with friends on a sunny day, and enjoy the flowers of the season.

※ Event duration: After the maintenance on May 18 - 23:59 EST on May 25

※ Level requirement: Lv. 15

※ During the event, complete daily quests to increase your event progress. The event-exclusive Immaculate Dream frame can be obtained in 6 days!

2. The Board Brawl Event

※ Control characters to clear challenges and get Lotus to exchange rewards!

※ Level requirement: Lv. 15

※ Event duration: After the maintenance on May 18 - 23:59 EST on May 24

※ Shop available: After the maintenance on May 18 - 23:59 EST on May 31

※ Each day at 0:00 EST, a new stage will be unlocked. Spend Celestial Fans to challenge the stages.

※ Clear the stage and get Lotuses, which can be used to exchange rewards in the event shop.

※ Spend Skill Points to raise the skill level of the characters. Skill Points can be obtained by completing character quests. Skill level progress will be carried over to the next event.

※ Inferno Ibaraki Doji is released in this event and can be purchased from the event shop. Purchased characters will be carried over to the next event.

3. The Mirage Matchup Event

Enter the illusory realm for a game in the mirage!

※ Event duration: After the maintenance on May 18 - 23:59 EST on May 20

※ Event shop available: May 18 - 23:59 EST on May 31

※ The event is available to Onmyoji who reached lv.15 and owned at least 50 different shikigami of R or higher rarity in their Collection.

※ During the event, take part in the Mirage Matchup zone via the Jizo Statue in the Courtyard. Event is available from 10:00 - 12:00 and from 18:00 - 20:00 daily. It costs 400K M-Jade for each game.

Event rewards:

- The first 10 Mirage Matchup games grant rewards, regardless of the results. There's a chance of obtaining high grade Realm Cards and Mystery Amulets among other rewards.

- M-Jade gain/loss and Mirage Matchup Score will be calculated for each game. M-Jade can be purchased with Coins. It can also be converted into Coins at the cost of Spiritual Scrolls.

- Onmyoji will be ranked based on the scores. Rewards will be issued to Onmyoji via in-game mail based on their Tier after the event has finished.

- The Event-exclusive Frame: Mirage Matchup Frame will be issued to those who reach Tier 6, the frame expires in 1 week.

4. New Feature - Brawlroom

※ Brawlroom is an expansion zone where Onmyoji can create custom rooms for duels. Onmyoji who reach Lv. 12 can access the feature via the Duel page or the Team Creation feature.

※ You can create rooms with different rules, from normal rules such as normal duel and ban & pick duel, to entertainment rules, including Unlimited Orbs, Null Souls Stats, and Banned SSR/SP Shikigami among others.

※ You can take part in the duels or watch others as spectator.

5. Special skin Iridescent Dolls

※ After the maintenance on May 18, Hiyoribou's Special edition skin Iridescent Dolls will be available in the Skin Store at the price of 168 S-Jade. You can purchase it for 108 S-Jade in the first week!

※ The skin features the following:
- New actions and skill effects
- Exclusive frame
- Exclusive voice and sound effects
- Exclusive Bio.

※ Note: The first week discount doesn't stack with any other kind of discount.

6. Memory Summons Updated

※ Summoning duration: After the maintenance on May 18 - 23:59 EST on May 31

※ Chance Up shikigami for this update including Virtuoso Hana, Azurestorm Ichimokuren, Asura, Orochi, Takiyashahime, Aoandon.

※ Chance Up shikigami for the next update will include Lovebound Kiyohime, Divine Miketsu, Shokurei, Otakemaru, Miketsu, Ibaraki Doji.

※ The new Recollection Pack is now avaliable! They can be purchased in Shop > Pack.

7. Double Guild Medals from Demon Encounter

1. Chat System Improvements

※ Opening the Chat page now shows the channel when the page was closed last time by default.

※ Upon receiving a tagged message, a red "@" will be displayed on the channel tab.

※ After tapping a message to bring up the copy feature, it can be canceled by tapping blank space.

※ Improved chat notifications for new players. Now it shows that Chat feature can be unlocked at Lv. 5.

2. Shikigami Menu Camera System Improvements

※ Improved how scenes are rendered after more shikigami have been added.

※ Fixed an issue where when a shikigami's skin is changed quickly, the action list was not updated in time.

3. Added Ban mode for Friend Sparring. Now players can choose the mode they wish to apply for the sparring practice between their friends.

4. Improved the display of SP shikigami Inaba Kaguya's Osmanthus Fairy skin.

5. Improved the idle animation of the SSR shikigami Susabi's Hanafuda Horizon skin. He now floats in the air instead of standing on the ground.

6. Improved the Auto Rotation switch setting in Exploration zones. Now the setting will remain unchanged even when players log off.

7. Implemented a balance change to some of the shikigami in Underworld Arena.

8. Added a threshold to Soul storage limit. When the number of grade 6 Souls the player has reached 2,000, they will increase their Soul storage limit to 6,500 (this doesn't change to the Soul storage limit increase for other amounts.)

9. Improved the enemy turn count display of the SP shikigami Ninja Yamausagi's Ninja Formation! skill. Now the turn count will be displayed at the top of the status bar.

10. Improved the Shikigami Summoning quest in Mentor's Guidance. Now summoning shikigami via Recollection Amulets can also complete the quest.

11. Improved the concept art of the SSR shikigami Mishige after her evolution.

12. Improved the page layout of the Merchant. Now the player's viewing position on each page is recorded separately.

13. Improved the Challenge Failed page in Area Boss, Evolution, and Secret zones, adding the Challenge Again option to the Sougenbi, Fallen Sun, Sea of Eternity, Area Boss, Evolution and Secret zones.

Fixed Issue

1. Fixed the issue with the Imminent skill in Underworld Arena where it was causing the passive skill of some shikigami to fail in some scenarios.

2. Fixed the issue where the daily auto wish-making feature was unable to complete the bio quests regarding making wishes. The quests can be completed by making wishes manually.

3. Fixed the issue where the Onmyoji Skills were unable to be properly configured in Duel Reserve Lineup.

4. Fixed the issue with the Banish effect inflicted by the Castle of the Sun zone boss Himiko's Like Old Times skill where is was incorrectly effective against shikigami with immunity to debuffs and controlling effects.

5. Added the missing action on being KO'd on the SP shikigami Monumental Otakemaru when he's a monster in the zones.

6. Fixed the display issue of the Golden Voyage frame.

7. Fixed the display issue on Friendship Pack in battle result page.

8. Fixed background display issue in Heian Tales.

9. Fixed the count display issue in Agent Summons guessing feature attempts.

10. Fixed the display issue when switching between the SP shikigami Ninja Yamausagi and her shards.

11. Fixed how damage taken is resolved for the binding field created by Seimei's Spell: Bind.

12. Fixed an incorrect interaction between Hiromasa's Occult: Panther Maul passive skill and Komatsu's Timid, where Komatsu was able to dodge the attack.

13. Fixed the issue on the damage dealt by the SSR shikigami Ichimokuren's Wind Amulet: Protect where it was incorrectly deemed as single-target damage.

14. Fixed the lag and reconnection issue upon entering the Battle Replay page.

It was a nice event that we were able to share with many people after a long time.


This is our booth! We put a lot of effort into decorating the booth.
We wanted to create a party-like feel.
We were able to get 2 booth with the consideration of the organizers,
so we prepared a big TV and sofa so that you can enjoy the game comfortably!






Families and friends all loved it!
Those who came alone shared seats with other spectators or even played with the development team!
