We have completely re done how game progress is tracked and saved. Previously, we only persisted your highscore and what level you had unlocked. However, as we add more and more levels, winning is becoming very difficult and frustrating when you cannot walk away in between levels. With this new system you will notice that the start brick will show "Continue" If you have started a game or "New Game" otherwise. You will still have you beat all the levels without losing the orb in order to win, but now you can leave and come back. Each level is a save point. You no longer need to start at level one to go for a win. You can start as far along as you like, however, you will have to circle back and beat the levels you skipped to win.
Welcome to our fifth devlog. Check it out! And thanks for reading!
Recent Progress
Quad Bike
During these past few months we managed to get working vehicles! Now you don't have to waste time walking around the map.
In future updates, the quad bike will be capable of receiving damage from crashing and attack from enemies. The wheels will fall off as damage is taken; Reducing overall speed and control.
Tablet Objectives
Finished the objectives menu for the tablet. You can also pin the current objective to the HUD for convenience.
FOB (Forward Operating Base)
We spent a long time developing "The FOB" map. This map is essentially the main hideout for your team. All cases are launched from here.
New Guns
We also added two new additional guns. Providing long and short range respectively.
Next Month's Focus
Some features listed won't necessarily be fully completed within' the month and could take up to several months to be finished or even functional. It's just what we're focusing on the most this time.
Multiplayer Demo
The free multiplayer demo is coming out in June, so stay tuned for more details soon!
We're hard at work, finishing up the demo case.
- A Day Out Crew
If you want to track the progress more closely, watch our Trello!
This DLC is dedicated to all the fans that supported our game, your feedback & support not only made us motivated to work on the first DLC but also made it financially possible to release it for free.
What does it contain?
- NEW WEAPON CUSTOMIZATION INTERFACE: yes we heard you, we noticed many of you want more customization for the equipment so now you will be able to choose the mod the weapons with scopes, barrels, and so on + it will also change the visual avatar of weapons. - NEW ARMOUR UPGRADE SYSTEM: yes, we heard you again, we now added a system that lets you have more control over the armor upgrade system. - NEW BALLANCE: because of the newly implemented systems we also had to adjust a large portion of the game balance to fit with the new additions. - NEW WEAPON/ FLAME THROWER: we received many suggestions during the private Beta test for a flame thrower and we promised we will add it after the release. Mission accomplished. - ABILITY TO CHANGE WEAPONS: yes we noticed that a huge amount of you wanted the ability to change weapons so we added it along with a new system for unlocking them. The weapons & mood schematics drop randomly on weapon crates and will immediately unlock them in the weapon crafting menu. - VISIBLE STATS: we now display some of the basic stats for each item in the Weapon/Armor menus, again this is based on the feedback we got although the main aim was to have players concentrate more on the tactical decision, not the numbers and that is why we preferred to make the DLC based on your feedback separated from the main game initial concept, which brings me now to the warnings section:
WARNINGS: - The DLC new system does not support the main game saves and the other way around - The future UPDATES will be based on the new DLC system - We did not change the initial inventory system from the main game build because many still enjoy that too
News about future DLCs Currently, we also hit the milestone for the second DLC that we will start work on as soon as we fix all issues based on your bug reports(if any) for the current DLC and have it solid. The second DLC will contain a map editor but the price and final details are still not decided yet.
