Hey folks, thanks for the interest in Mix Universe! So far quite a few people have actually hit the request button for the playtest on the main page (way more than I thought there would be in the first day).

This is something that I am still sorting through and the build itself needs at least another week or 2 to tutorialize a few sections a bit nicer so that the new player ramp-up is a bit smoother.

I am also finalizing the bug submission process and setting up a way to give feedback. In the mean time it is perfectly fine to hit the request button and wait to get access. I will post another update when more testers are added!

Change: Reduced the tree density on some map hexes.

F-6C-10-NT reconnaissance fighters were converted from serial P-51C-10-NT Mustangs by installing photographic equipment. The version of the F-6C-10-NT fighter, supplied under the Lend-Lease to the French Air Force, will be one of the main prizes of the new season of the War Thunder Battle Pass!

P-51 Mustang fighters are well known to our pilots, and one could hardly find a battle in the low or mid ranks, where these fast and maneuverable aircraft are not used. The F-6C-10-NT has no suspended armament and is designed to destroy primarily fighters and attack aircraft. Four heavy "Brownings" in the wings have a total ammo capacity of 1260 rounds, which is usually enough for a medium duration battle.



The Mustang feels most comfortable at medium and high altitudes, so experienced pilots often use this fighter for “boom n zoom” tactics: the aircraft has a good climb rate, high maximum speed and a construction strong enough for high loads. In mixed combat, the Mustang is not as effective as cannon and strike fighters, but it can be used to hunt enemy aircraft and destroy lightly armored ground vehicles. The fighter responds to the controls well and calmly engages in duels.



At its rank in the French aviation lineup, the F-6C-10-NT will become one of the fastest aircraft. Its premium status will allow you to research French aviation of low and medium ranks faster. You can get the F-6C-10-NT for free for completing the stages of the new season of the War Thunder Battle Pass, which will start in the game in a few days. Details about the rules and prizes of the new season will be announced very soon, stay tuned!

Ladders:


After the character movement update it became more difficult to climb down ladders, so at long last you can optionally press the Interact key to mount at the point you are looking! Hopefully this reduces the number of hospital visits caused by jumping to climb down. Walking into a ladder to climb is also still supported.

Max Draw Distance Option:

You are probably sick and tired of hearing about fog adjustments with these past few updates.


100% is a balance between performance and quality. It was the intended maximum in the first of these updates, reducing the draw distance from its previous insanely high value. 50% is available for some lower-end hardware, but players at the maximum network distance will be slightly within the fog. 200% is available for higher-end systems.

Keep in mind that 2x the draw distance (radius) is 4x the area, so 100% has 4x the area considered for rendering compared to 50%, and 200% has 16x the area compared to 50%. The level editor max draw distance is separate from the in-game max draw distance, and its values are 2x as large. Landmark draw distance is automatically adjusted for the max draw distance, so for example landmarks 100% with a max of 150% is not rendering any landmarks in the fog.

Miscellaneous:

Controls, options, graphics, and display settings can be adjusted in the level editor without returning to the main menu. You can also quit to desktop from the level editor or in-game pause menus, however the disconnect timer applies while playing in multiplayer.

NPCs can set a spawn location override so that the player will respawn at a marked location or vehicle spawnpoint. This override is saved between sessions. For example it could be useful for story sections or safezones.

Previously scopes and optics multiplied a base field of view of 90 degrees, whereas now your configured field of view is used.
