Another day another update!

This is a small update adding in more HotKeys, to allow for easier controls. As well as this, the 'How To' menu has been made accessible from within the levels now and has a new layout! The options menu has also been changed, now with 2 sections. Sound/Graphics where you can access all of your sound options as well as screen dimension options. The other section is controls, where you have access to view/change all of the Hotkey shortcuts for the game!

Endless mode has had the spawning jelly and tree bases moved to allow more room/flexibility when building your mazes!

Keep on with the suggestions, so that I can carry on making changes to this game for you, the players!

updated bot ship attack conditions to randomize ability between the new sync list abilities / fixed bug causing other projectiles with statuses to fail triggering on collision status

Model Builder: Complete Edition - Ob3y
Patch 1.0.15 is here, and it brings a lot of improvements and fixes to Model Builder ⚙️

This week, we’ve managed to track and fix bugs like missing manuals, not activating the workbench or finishing the project, or the disappearing paints after the models are finished.

  • After choosing the painting manual, the first base coat now matches that manual
  • Renders in manuals are now placed neatly under the white border
  • Progress bar now refreshes when Disassembly Tool is used
  • Removed obsolete brush shape selection in Effects Tool

    Quests

  • Fixed the possibility to assemble a whole model in such a way that the Finish button was blocked
  • Text on special pages in career manuals is now displayed correctly



    Gameplay

  • Cutting knife can now be used while the camera is still moving
  • Fixed the issue that caused an inability to use the workbench
  • Lights no longer flicker in the studio workshop when moving away from display cases



    Bug fixes

  • Fixed the problem that caused pages in the manual to not load properly
  • Paintbrush and Airbrush can no longer cover unpredictable areas when the Pressure parameter is at -100
  • The progress bar correctly shows percentage when the model is fully completed
  • Fixed the issue with elements getting stuck on the workbench when the availability of ghosts is shifting
  • Elements no longer disappear when they are taken out of storage while still loading their preview
  • Fixed a bunch of graphical problems in the studio workshop, such as shadows and light effects

Star Traders: Frontiers - Trese Brothers

One of the things we’ve always been quietly proud of in Star Traders is the wide variety of faces available within the game.

But even before we added official modding support to the game, some of the first unofficial mods were graphics replacements players created to further customize the game’s character art or add in their own faces & clothes. Now with fully-supported Steam Workshop modding available, it’s even easier, more reliable, and we’ve seen some modders getting pretty creative with it.

So creative… we may have gotten a little jealous. Seeing modders getting a chance to put a whole new spin on the game, from tributes to other franchises to rebalances that create new playstyle opportunities… not to mention all the straight-up improvements some modders are claiming… “Improved Ship Combat Icons,” “Sound FX Overhaul,” “Larger Cargo Holds” …this is what comes from creating a Captain simulator, everyone thinks they can run the ship better. ;)

So, we dug deep into our graveyard of code fragments, searching for a half-finished time-travel wormhole we’d written off all the way back in Early Access as too dangerous to complete, and let our wounded pride throw caution to the solar winds. Why a time travel wormhole, you might ask? Because how else in the midst of Cyber Knights development, spring travel, and 😱 tax season were we going to find the time for this: a full faces revamp featuring entirely new*, 100% original** crew art now available to you within the game.



We asked Andrew to art better this time, and boy did he! While the original faces were a collaboration between Andrew as Creative Director and our professional art team partners, the revamped crew faces are a fully in-house effort only "lightly" inspired from their original work, and we think you’re going to love the results.



Each face features:
  • 20-50% more pixels
  • fine-tuned adjustments to key facial features
  • bold new interpretations of classic sci-fi tropes
  • exciting speculative guesses at alternate evolutionary possibilities
  • increased immersion through stronger representation of the effects of centuries of drinking the water-fuel



Okay, so you’ve hopefully figured it out by now, but if not: April fool’s! This is not a real game update.









BUT IT IS A REAL GAME MOD! 😮😁😮😁😮😁

If you want to, you can actually play with these ludicrous, outlandish, unexplainable, sometimes unfortunate faces, by playing the mod version of the game and adding our new mod, Star Derps. All 100+ of the crew faces have been replaced with new versions. Try it out, you might even find a few you’d like to grab from the modded spritesheet and add into a less outrageous mod of your own.

For-real props to all our modders, who have created some truly fun stuff for the game. Check out the other mods now available for Star Traders and leave some comments to encourage them to make more, and dive into the Making Mods section of the wiki to learn how to make your own.

This Means Warp - Outlier
It has been 2 weeks since This Means Warp launched into Early Access, and what a 2 weeks it has been! We wanted to say a huge thankyou to the thousands of people who have played the game, offered suggestions, or left a review for This Means Warp!

We have been watching a lot of gameplay and listening to all of your feedback. It is incredibly gratifying to see so many people enjoying the game, and there’s one comment that comes up again and again - you want MORE!



The good news is we have lots of plans for additional content during Early Access! You can check out the roadmap on the Steam page for details on the longer term, but in the short term we’re delighted to announce that UPDATE 1 WILL LAUNCH ON MAY 2ND 2022!

We’re currently finalizing exactly what we can squeeze into the update, but here’s a quick peek into the list so far:
  • New “Scenario” game modes
  • New “Custom” game mode
  • New crew levelling system
  • 2x New missions
  • 2x New ship modifiers
  • 4x New enemy ships
  • New “Nightmare” difficulty
  • Lots of bug fixes
In the meantime, we’ve also been tweaking balancing based on your experiences with the game:
  • 4.01 (18th March): Increased difficulty ramp for 3-4 player groups, increased health and charge speed of final boss, buffed enemy bot move speed.
  • 4.02 (28th March): Increased difficulty of easy mode, buffed late game enemy weapons, increased frequency of unique mechanics on Boss 2 and Boss 3.

The “Steel gladiators” season has not yet ended, and we already want to delight you with another update that has an even more brutal and serious name. Meet the “RUTHLESS STEEL GLADIATORS OF DARKNESS”. To emphasize the seriousness of our intentions, we kindly ask you to use this name in capital letters only.

Let’s take a look at the update’s new features in detail!

Teleportation module

Having carefully analyzed the data from all recent battles on the server, we have concluded that battles are not fast enough and there is still room for positional combat in the game. But don’t worry — we have developed a remedy that will fix this situation! We present you the teleportation module:
  • Rarity: ferocious.
  • PS: 8500.
  • Durability: 1 pts.
  • Energy drain: 4 pts.
  • Mass: 1230 kg.
  • Perk: when activated, it teleports the player’s car to the point on which the crosshairs are currently pointed at. Please don’t aim at the acid lake too often!


Frame two by eight

We’d like to remind you that a 2*8 frame has recently been added to the game. We really enjoyed the process, and perhaps in the future we will also add other frames, such as 2*16, 2*32 and so on.


Yuri’s condition

We know that developer Yuri, who bravely talked about the features of the update on our last livestream through a shroud of his Vietnam flashbacks, has taken a special place in your hearts. He is truly a man without fear or blame. So, we want to reassure you: Yuri is fine. Actually, this is what all of us look like on a daily basis. What? Making video games is complicated stuff, you know!


Conclusion
Finally, we want to tell you a parable.

General Practitioner 2 - Bruni Multimedia
If you're a fan of the original General Practitioner or just looking for an amazing new simulation game to sink your teeth into, then you're going to love what we have in store for you this month. General Practitioner 2 is coming to Steam's Early Access on April 2022 and it promises to be even better than the first!

Early Access will feature three fully featured medical exams, a brand-new relationship system, dozens of HD images, and a complete soundrack. You can also interview and hire your first Nurse, and interact with each of the two brothers separately, choosing every day who you want to play with.

Different brothers also mean different encounters and different medical exams to perform, no day is like any other day in GP2!

GP2 is sure to keep you entertained for hours on end.

Live the life of TWO doctors in this brand-new medical simulated Visual Novel. Andrew and Julie are brothers and MDs and they recently inherited a once-renowned medical clinic from their aunt. Join them in rebuilding the clinic, hiring staff and living their lives.


This time there are two of them!

Choose to live each chapter of the main story from Andrew or Julie's point of view. Different paths mean different stories to unfold, people to meet and consequences to play!

Make them professional, respected doctors or corrupt them down to a path of money, lust or even crime! While a sibling might be a saint, the other one might be the exact opposite! Who knows where you could get them into!



Clinical cases

In the best tradition of the General Practitioner franchise, dozens of clinical cases to explore. Choose the correct way to diagnose an illness with the renewed codex, or do your best to ruin people's lives by giving them a wrong diagnosis. You could also try and get some extra cash by threatening them by exposing some dirty secrets to their family or local police. It's up to you.


Medical accuracy

Written with deep research and the help of a real MD, General Practitioner 2 focuses on medical accuracy. Every medical information you will find in the game is consistent with the actual medical knowledge. Please remember this is a game, however, and if you need medical help you should always ask your doctor to help you.


New gameplay

Hire new staff members and manage the hospital in a new story-based gameplay. No more idle days trying to figure out what to do. The game is a full story and even hiring staff and managing stuff (!) is always story-oriented. No chapter will be like another as you get to know pediatricians, midwives, tech gurus, social media marketers and nurses!


Game over IS possible

Make the wrong choices and the clinic will be shutted off. You will need to balance your bad habits in a way the Medical Board won't open an investigation against you. And if they will... It's up to you to change their mind.


Optional Sexual encounters

You can try to flirt and romance dozens of characters in the game, including coworkers and patients! But beware, not everything is what it looks like!

The game won't be rated 18+ on Steam since Vanilla mode will always be active. Vanilla mode is a feature which disables nudity content. You can apply a free patch to overcome this by downloading it on generalpractitionergame.com once the game releases.
