Today we'd like to shine a spotlight on the new and improved character creator for Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers. Building on the success of the original Arcade Spirits and taking on board community feedback we've introduced a number of new features to help you to tailor your character.
Customization Options
When you begin a new game you'll be asked to create your character using a range of adjustable criteria. Players will get to choose from a variety of options including:
Name & Handle - Pick a name and a creative gamer handle. You'll also have the option to decide how other characters refer to you throughout the game.
Online Avatar - What gamer profile is complete without an awesome avatar? Here you'll be able to pick your online avatar to compliment the iconic designs belonging to your team mates.
Pronouns - Choose from a wide variety of pronouns: He/Him, She/Her, They/Them, Ze/Zir, Ze/Hir, Ze/Mer, Ze/Zher, It/Its, Xe/Xem, Ey/Eirself, Ey/Emself, Ne/Nem, Ve/Ver, Fae/Faer, Ae/Aer
Skin Tone - The gaming scene is as diverse as ever, so let your character reflect this by selecting a natural skin tone from a palette of 30 choices.
Hair Style - From casual styles to stylish contemporary cuts, create a new look and choose from 100+ dyes.
Eye Color - Explore some truly eye-catching looks or reflect your own eye color.
Nose Selection - Pick from a range of distinctive facial features.
Body Type & Shirt - Select your body type from a range of shapes and sizes, and pick out some stylish new threads to complement your look.
Pants & Skirts - Smart-casual or light and breezy?
Glasses - A selection of interesting frames to choose from, from the studious to the outrageous!
Headwear - Strengthen your hair game with headwear that comes in multiple sizes for the perfect fit.
With the new character creator we're aiming to give players much more freedom, and we hope you'll enjoy discovering the numerous combinations that are possible. All customization options will be available regardless of the pronouns or body type chosen.
Change is good, so we've also added the option to adjust all of the aforementioned options mid-playthrough as your character develops (You'll have the option to make changes at the end of each story chapter).
Designing Your Rival
In addition to the player character, you'll be tasked with designing an arch rival! The same options will be available when editing with the exception of their shirt colour, which is locked to a nefarious black. A word of warning though as your rival's appearance can NOT be altered again during the game. Something to bear in mind if you happen to pick a particularly 'creative' name for them...you better believe they'll be stuck with it!
We can't wait to see what designs you all come up with! Remember Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers launches on May 27 2022!
- Add Outfit selection for humanoid bosses (Boss Maker) - Add Objectives node (Boss Maker) - Add Dialog node (Boss Maker) - Add Humbaba Totem - Add new menu for solo bosses - A new event: Willow Sister Challenge offers various rewards (2 player bosses)
Changes:
- Rework of the Intercept helmet - Spellbook is better optimized - Improve projectile system
Known issues:
- Sometimes links are invisible in the editor. To fix that, you need to move the camera around and the links should appear
With the launch of Weird West just one week away we'd like to squeeze out one last video in the Road to Weird West video series! This one explores how player actions affect each character's relationship with locations and other characters. The Weird West never forgets...
Weird West launches on March 31st, so don't miss your final chance to pre-order now and get your hands on Calamity, a dependable mule that provides a leg up at the beginning of your adventures by doubling your inventory size, allowing you to escape locations even if enemies are chasing you, and faster travel to avoid missing out on timed objectives.
The legendary TPAIN is back in Crusader Kings III and you won't want to miss it! To celebrate the release of CK3 on console, we're releasing 5 new videos over the next week! ✨
Hey all! So, turns out, despite being from England, I'm not as good at English as I thought. RPG maker's lack of a spellchecker meant that a lot of what I thought was spelt correctly with this game... well, wasn't. And I'm working solo, so I didn't have anyone else to pick up on mistakes. But, after feedback from multiple sources making me aware of this, I've ran a patch (by which I mean, I've gotten every single line of dialogue in this game, ran it through a spellchecker and corrected a few minor bits of grammar too).
RIP my hands with the amount of select all/copy/paste/correct/select all/copy/paste/repeat that it took to get the whole game checked.
You should find that there are vastly less typo's now and a few minor bits of dialogue have been improved, enjoy! I do greatly appreciate feedback, so do feel free to make me aware if there are any other issues with the game or if I missed anything during my typo purging. Or, since it's currently being worked on, any suggestions for the sequel!

The plan is to make Sea Monsters available simultaneously with the next Parkasaurus update. Our aim is to have this out the door soon!
Today I’ll just focus on some fun facts about the Sea Monster DLC itself:
New Biomes
See-through wall
Water doors
Veterinarian Helmets
New Biomes
The big addition here is water exhibits with 3 new biomes: Beach, Lagoon, and Photic. Unlike our previous exhibits that are morphed by “Wetness” and “Mountainous”, water exhibits are morphed by water depth and heat!
See through wall
You can see through the walls of above-ground exhibits! This might seem like a no-brainer, but it was quite complicated to pull off for a variety of reasons, a big one being performance. Well worth it though:
Water doors
You might find yourself losing a lot of water from your above-ground water exhibits. This might be because you’re not using a water door! Using a normal door results in a slow leak. Water physics for the win!
Veterinarian Helmets
Of course, you could not expect our veterinarians to fill up food containers and take care of the new sea monsters without an underwater breathing apparatus. While yes – there is an old-school scuba helmet one can unlock – we provide this automatically whenever a vet goes underwater.
