This patch adds the following: - A new biome: mountains. A very difficult biome where the weather is always cold or freezing and nothing ever grows. - Sometimes lone visitors will have veterans backgrounds and might join your faction if the conditions are right/met. These units will most likely be great additions to your settlement. - 7 new veteran-backgrounds, to mention a few: Vampire Hunter, Assassin and Paladin. - 7 new perks, some exclusive for veterans, like Silver bolts or Silver bullets for vampire hunters, and Back stab for assassins. - 'One brave soul' - a new scenario where you start with only one villager, a veteran, and some basic supplies. - Several new headwear, like masks, horned helmets and tricornes. Available only through looting or veteran units. - A new type of event/subevent: A specific culture (either scourge, pirates, rowing bandits or raiders) might attack your settlement. These attackers will have better armour and provide a greater challenge. - A new undead enemy: Dread wolf (inspired by the Hell hound from Grim Nights 1) which deals poison and slashing damages. - You can now have your camera follow a specific unit. (Fun!) - A few new songs and a few remastered ones.
This patch fixes/changes the following: - Fixes a bug where units got stuck in knocked-back-state. - Fixes a glitch where ranged units kept glitching in and out out ranged-state. - Fire damage decreases faster and fleeing units will not stop to put out fires. - Attackers and visitors will heal themselves if necessary. - Having allies flee/abandon faction will have a greater negative impact on others. This will mostly be noticeable with attacking humans whom now are much more likely to flee all at once rather than one at a time. - Fixes a bug where units got stuck looking searching for a place to rest. - When trading you now use a slider instead of + - buttons. - Fixes a few bugs related to loading a game.
I think that was it for this patch. I very much hope you enjoy the new content! I stand very ready to throw in a hot-fix should this cause any unforseen issues.
One more thing: Steam-screenshots are no longer working and will be fixed as soon as possible, sorry about that! Your screenshots are still being taken and saved in your %APPDATA%-folder.
As always: thank you for your patience, feedback, bug reports and support!
Best wishes and lots of love//Mattias
PS: Next patch will give you the much needed ability to customize your starting units and the cultures of the newly generated worlds.
If you prefer video over text, and want to see how Tournament Mode is looking at the moment check out this youtube video:
So it will be 5 days of pure madness, way too much coffee, and way too little sleep. Which for some reason appears very exciting to us. The thrill of the challenge I suppose ːsteamhappyːːsteamfacepalmː
But we'll give our absolute best to get it done and we'll keep you guys constantly updated on the progress in our Discord Community on the "work-in-progress" channel. We plan to have it functional in about 3-4 days from now so we can make a Beta branch where you guys can try it earlier and help us test it, tell us some feedback, or report any bugs or issues you might run across.
How Will Tournament Mode Work?
You will have 5 lives (chances to lose a battle) and the goal is to push through as many rounds as possible and get the highest score you can. The score will be uploaded to Steam Leaderboard so you can compete with other players. You'll be also able to see scores of only your friends so you can compete with them directly and settle the dispute of who's the best gladiator manager amount you!
The mode will be simpler than the current game mode (now renamed: Campaign mode). Without quests, guild buildings, or wages. Each round will have several battles earning you gold and items. Each round will end with a boss or swarm fight that you need to defeat in order to progress to the next one.
Once you lose all your lives, you'll see your score that will be uploaded for all players (and your friends) to see and compete with you. Making it have a rogue-lite feel to it, with shorter playtime but high replayability.
There are other changes like being able to choose your exact starting gladiators (this will work on Campaign Mode as well). So you don't have to rely on the game giving you random gladiators but you can compose your starting team exactly the way you want it and plan for maximum efficiency.
We hope to see you in our Discord Community and join us in our journey as we're putting this together and share the progress with you ːsteamhappyː
Thank you for all the support! We hope you guys will enjoy this new addition to the game!
Once this is done and we keep expanding Campaign mode, this mode will grow as well with all new gladiators, bosses, quirks, and items that are going to be added to the Campaign mode.
MythBusters: The Game - Crazy Experiments Simulator - Argetaie
Hello, Mythbusters!
The world of science never sleeps. Science experiments and groundbreaking discoveries happen at any time, any day, and anywhere. Even now, cures are being developed and technologies improved. Let us recap some of the more interesting events which happened this month in science.
In Australia, scientists want to bring the Tasmanian Tiger back from extinction
Image credit: public domain via EJ Keller/The Smithsonian Institution
The Tasmanian Tiger, a marsupial known as Thylacine, has been believed extinct since 1936 when Benjamin, the last confirmed member of the species, died in captivity at Hobart’s Beaumaris Zoo. There have been rumoured sightings over the years but none were confirmed.
Scientists, however, were not ready to give up on the Tasmanian Tiger and have sequenced the genome, which might help bring the animal back from extinction. Now, scientists will have to develop an embryo and plant it successfully in the womb of a surrogate mother. Keep your fingers crossed for Thylacine!
The black hole closest to the solar system turns out to not be a black hole

Two years ago, astronomers announced they have discovered a black hole closest to our solar system. The black hole was supposed to be a part of a three-body system, called HR 6819, consisting of two stars and a black hole. Well, turns out the HR 6819 is just two stars, no black hole included. However, these stars are certainly not ordinary.
It looks like the astronomers discovered the system just after one of the stars had its outer layer stripped by the other. The effect of this “stellar vampirism” made it look like the system includes an invisible black hole. This actually makes this discovery much more exciting, as the phenomenon of one star being stripped out of its atmosphere is very difficult to catch.
One beer a day shrinks your brain

Or even half a bear, really. Recent studies seemed to highlight a dramatic difference in brain volume of alcohol drinkers compared to abstinents, and researchers from the University of Pennsylvania sought to delve deeper into the matter.
Turns out, just one or two alcohol units a day lower the drinker’s brain volume, and the decrease gets worse the more alcohol is consumed. This new study challenges the common belief that small amounts of alcohol every day are beneficial to one’s health. So if you want to keep your brain younger, perhaps refrain from that one beer every day. It will also help you avoid any possible cognitive impairments.
Mice with implanted “drug factories” are cured of cancer within a week
New cancer treatment is emerging. At this stage, it is still tested on mice but considering the excellent results, scientists may start the human trials as early as in the fall. Researchers have come up with an implant containing engineered human cells programmed to secrete interleukin-2, a cytokine that activates white blood cells to fight cancer and other diseases.
This cytokine is already used for cancer treatment but as an IV injection which often causes some undesirable side effects. The implant, however, is planted directly in the lining of a diseased organ and produces daily doses of the cytokine which combats the adjacent tumour until it’s gone. At this moment in time, this method fully cured all mice with ovarian cancer and 7 of 8 animals with colorectal cancer.
We hope this dose of news satisfied your science cravings for some time! Remember, stay safe and stay curious. If you want to help us, wishlist the game!
