Hi guys! It's Friday already and we have some more work in progress to share with you! We are finally getting more and more back to game development and we've got some stuff to share with you!



Marius is back to animating and is focusing on adjustments to some animations before starting new ones. The turning animations for gallop are being tweaked as well as some adjustments to the trot to make it loop better and not have as much stutter. Turning animations for canter and trot will of course come soon, so keep an eye open!




Tirna has been putting together the plans for Astride and what we need to focus more on to make Astride be the best it can for the early access. Some things need high focus, while other things will come later. We can't show you the entire plan, but the headlines are there! For a clearer picture, you can always head over to our Discord server where we post work in progress daily.




Till now we have the Norwegian Warmblood and the Fjord Horse, so what's next? Well, here is a very early part of the process. Blocking of body and legs. The most important thing with the horses is to get the anatomy right from the start, so the main focus here is to make sure the build of the horse corresponds with the breed we are aiming to make. Can you guess which breed this one is from early stage?




We've got more splash art teasers for you! Maja is working on the Easter splash art and it's coming together very nicely. We are all excited to show you the end result, but there is still a way to go. And it's not Easter yet, after all!

The time has come. Your first look at Ocean Odysseys, the 1.9 update, is here. In today's Dev Diary, we will tell you how to access it, what we know still needs fixing and even confirm some rumors that have been circulating the forums! Let's DIVE right in!


First thing's first. No more cryptic messages, beating around the bush or vagueness. 🦈SHARKS are back! More dangerous than ever. And also more varied - there are 5 different kinds and a sawfish too!















In the past we have asked you to help us test updates before their actual full release. As always, we're grateful for the help and we're excited to hear your feedback. That being said, please, whenever you report anything amiss in the Experimental version, let us know that you're playing the Experimental version and not the live version of the game.

The Experimental is available for Steam players only.




Step 1: Back up your saves. Find the "<steam installation folder>/userdata/<your steam id>" and copy the whole "298610" folder. And keep it in a safe location.
Step 2: Go to your Steam library and find Ylands. Right click the game in the side menu and select "Properties". Select "Betas" and type in ExperimentalIWillBackUpMySaves
Step 3: The Experimental version will begin updating/downloading. You may need to do this manually. After this is complete, you may begin playing. You will continue on the progress from last Experimental or will start a new game if you've never played Experimental before.

Important Note 1: We recommend starting a new game with a guest account.
Important Note 2: We are aware of several larger issues, which we're working on fixing or have already finished fixing but haven't included them in the Experimental. You may find them in the highlights section below.

• Sharks. Better stay in your boat!
  
• Underwater biotopes full of life and surprises
  
• Ships can take damage and even sink
  
• Useful new ship devices
  
• Friends' location is displayed on the map

• Shark in the main menu doesn't have any animations
  
• There are no Mystery Ylands in the Exploration
  
• Underwater Random Encounters are not generated
  
• Water surface integrity issues
  
• Text in Playlands is not shown properly (only key codes)

We will be performing temporary maintenance tomorrow (Mar. 19) between 2:00 and 6:30 (UTC+8). This affects the LA, DI, JC, EF and SG servers. During this maintenance, we deal with those who requested server transfers that experienced issues and return those who canceled their transfer requests but were transferred anyway. We estimated this maintenance will last 4.5 hours. You will be unable to log in to the game during this time. Thank you for your continued support and trust.

1. You can still play on your character as per usual on your original server.
2. Upon successful server transfer, the character's friends list and blacklist will be cleared. (If you do not leave your house, alliance/Imperial Restorationists before the transfer, you will be displayed as offline there but will not be automatically removed.)
3. The following items and resources may be brought during the transfer:

• 1) Only items and resources in your Inventory, Supply Dump, and Wagon will be brought.
  
• 2) Items and resources already listed with the Auctioneers cannot be brought, nor can resources in Resource Piles. Be sure to retrieve all of these before transferring servers so as not to lose anything.

Mail and their attachments will be transferred to the new server.

4. Duplicate Names:
Should a character with the same name as yours exist on the server you transfer to, a string of digits will be added to your name.
On the day of the server transfer we will then issue you a New Identity Document x1.
5. Extra Info:
A character may be unable to log in to the target server if that server has login restrictions. Please ensure that you can log in to a server before transferring a character.
