Vampire Survivors - Virgil Infernas
New Content

4 achievements to unlock:
- a Bonus stage
- a new weapon evolution
- a new character
- an extra rank for the Skip power-up

If you've already met the requirements for the Bonus stage achievement, then simply enter and exit a run to unlock it right away.



Bugfixes:
- changes to cooldown don't reset weapon firing timers anymore
- special stage pickups are now immune to bad/purple Pentagram, but now Pentagram also correctly erases all other on-screen pickups
- tentative fix for King Bible/Unholy Vespers not making a full circle
- tentative fix for UI elements overlapping when pickipng up a stage item at the same time as leveling up or pausing the game

Tweaks:
- reduced cost of the Skip power-up
- treasure chests are now visible on the map

What's next
The original Early Access description from December mentioned a 60% content completion, but since then a lot more stuff has been added to the roadmap for game version 1.0, not to mention that content has been coming out at a much faster pace than anticipated.
So, rather than providing a few hints about what to expect from the next patch as usual, I'll soon be putting together a larger announcement to shed some light on the overall roadmap, game difficulty, power creep, performance optimisation etc.

Hello Gatewalkers!

Today, we'll briefly introduce you to another aspect of the game - gem acquisition!
Gemstones are essential for making rings and amulets. It is true that you don't need jewelry to complete the game - but having it will be helpful for you!

Basic versions of rings and amulets are made using anvil:


However, you can enhance them with elements in laboratory:


But how to get precious stones? The only place to acquire them is the Fire world. A gemstone is a resource that can be mined with a pickaxe.



You can wear two rings and one amulet at the same time, so wearing all three can boost your powers significantly.


PS. See the merchant over there? Gems are precious, so even if you have the jewelry you desire it’s good to gather them and buy something from a merchant, for example an extra tent. Or if you are lucky and found a lot of gems… just make a piece of beautiful jewelry and give it to your friend - that’s a gift every Gatewalker will love!

Hello everyone!

The last dev update was a more wordy post going over the theory behind the class/ability system I was going to implement, so this time I want to let the game-play do the talking!

For those of you who have played the open beta, you may be familiar with the Kick ability, which if it hits, will move the enemy one tile back. This ability will now be the default ability of the Fighter class in game. Here is an in game example:

On an even more exciting note, I have now started to implement status effects in the game! The first one is a Stun status that is inflicted by the second new ability that I want to introduce, Shield Bash. It will be the default ability of the Soldier class, and when it hits it will stun the enemy unit for 1 turn.

I have many status effects in mind (taunted, immobilized, bleeding, poisoned, etc etc), but I'd love to hear some of your favorite status effects that you've played with in other games

One challenge I'm running into is how I want to reflect status effects to players. One thing I will do for sure is put a status icon above their health bar, like the one you can see in the shield bash video. This will allow the player to know at a glance the state of the battlefield. I was also thinking about adding more visual indicators. For the stun example you can see that the unit effected by the stun changes stances and is a little "wobbly". It takes a bit longer to implement things like that so I'd love to hear your thoughts on if you feel things like that would make your experience better/more immersive.

You can test out the newest fixes and added items. New outfit for the player. looks way better!
Added a tree respawn behind the rough cut saw mill. You Need to buy the rough cut mill to run it and cut boards. You can't sell the boards at this time working on that soon tho.

Fixed the chainsaw to turn the correct way when by tree to cut.
You can no longer hold 2 items at the same time.
Fixed the vehicles so they flip back up right.
Fixed the or think I fixed the saw. at times when the chain would get dull it wouldn't cut at all.
No way to sharpen the chain at this time. So it will take forever to cut up a tree or down.
added save to most items but some might be buggy.
You can load the sawmill with log if you hit numpad 6.
If you want to drop the chainsaw just back up or walk and spam hit the drop key. still needs work.

This is just put in and not fully tested so you will find bugs and errors.

Hey friends! Another update here with the last big new features before we focus on polish/balance and start localizing this thing. Please please PLEASE give us any feedback you’ve got about balance or bugs or anything that’s on your mind!

To join the beta branch:
1. Right-click on the game in Steam and select Properties.
2. Select the BETAS tab and enter the password supersecretbetabranch
3. Select the beta branch from the dropdown.
4. It should update right away! You will know you’re on the beta build if you see a new version number in the lower right on the Roundguard title screen.
5. After you start the game up, if your save files don't copy over and you'd like to keep playing with your main game save progress, you can go to C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\LocalLow\Wonderbelly Games\Roundguard and copy/paste the files from the "saves" folder into the "beta" folder.

Now for the details of what’s in the patch:

The Relic of Perseverance
  • This is now unlockable by winning Encore rank 3 with any hero. This is a big one! This Relic is essentially “Endless Mode” which has been in the community request pool for a long time. This will let you keep playing after defeating the Act 3 boss by cycling back to The Keep for Act 4 and going through the 3 act loop again as long as you can survive, with player and enemy stats continuing to scale.
  • Some unique rules to note here: First, it will add the new Trinket limiter and Wheel of Woes rules no matter which rank you play while it’s equipped. Also, your scores won’t be uploaded to online leaderboards while this is active. Finally, to “Master” this relic, you must survive long enough to complete Act 6. Really curious how tough this threshold is for people, so please give it a try and share your feedback!
New Accessibility Settings
  • Game Speed - This essentially slows down (or speeds up if you want to play with that) the physics simulation speed.
  • Arachnophobia Mode - This removes all images of spiders from the game (including UI icons), modifies all spider enemies to just be 2 eyed round things with no legs, swaps out spider-y particle effects and sound effects for generic versions.
Polish, Bugs, and Balance
  • Encore rank 1 now has Act Boss variety, and Rank 2 adds the trinket limiter to that.
  • Renamed rank 3 to Sideshow, and then adjusted higher ranks to display as 3/4/5 (instead of 4/5/6). Now all "Encore" rank rules stack as you go up the ranks, but the Sideshow rules don't.
  • Polished Encore menu presentation.
  • Fixed final boss little worm butt bits so they no longer get destroyed by some invisible colliders associated with non-damaging properties/skills.
  • Fixed new warrior relic bug where startling audio could play when the bomb first loads in.
  • Fixed Woe that lets enemies from all depths appear anywhere so now it really includes all the enemies, instead of just the Act 3 ones showing up everywhere.

Oneirogen - Dogū
I built Oneirogen in the early years of VR and learned a lot through the process. While I'm proud of my little game, a lot has changed in VR development and parts of the game (such as locomotion) do not hold up to the standards of today's VR games. I simply do not have the time or money to rebuild the game from scratch. But I'm working on a new project titled Isle of Pan, which carries the spirit of Oneirogen into a experience much more polished and grander than Oneirogen ever was.
