First off, THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of my heart for getting the game. I was not expecting anyone to get this knock-off version of another game lol. Second, I am currently planning on making more content to the game, and fixing some bugs. If you guys have any suggestions for the game, please let me know by discussing it below.
Thanks once again for picking up the game, and I promise I will try my best to make this game just a little better than it is at it's current state.
Sign up for the beta test is now closed, current testers will still be able to play the game through the weekend. Thank you to everyone who participated!
The initial launch of the Ascended Survivor demo has been rough as a brand new developer, but I'm happy with how the game turned out. Things are going well on the back end of development. The first three levels of Episode 1 are now finished, and only a few levels and polish remain before we're ready for launch!
Some of you may be wondering about the structure of the game. What will the release version look like, and how will future content be rolled out? All of these are great questions, which I will answer here.
Ascended Survivor will release with Episode 1: The Downtech Mines for $10. Three other episodes are planned, which will be released as free updates to Ascended Survivor. Any post-launch content after that point will also be completely free. Each episode will contain 4 main levels and any secret levels I feel like adding. Each episode will take place in a drastically different environment, with new enemies, mechanics, and bosses. They're packed with fun around every corner!
STEAM NEXT FEST
Ascended Survivor is also participating in Steam's Next Fest! And as a part of that, I'll be streaming gameplay of Ascended Survivor. All of the Demo's content will be shown, as well as some gameplay of the second level. If you have any questions or you just want to chat, then stop by! The current plan is to stream on Monday, February 21st at 6:00 PM EST, and Friday, February 25th at 8:00 PM EST.
That's all for now! Make sure to follow the development of Ascended Survivor @AscendedGame on Twitter.
(BTW, The promotional art above is by @RainMirage_Art on Twitter, he does good stuff check them out)
Beta 0.112 Potentially fixed a memory leak in the HQ, more testing required. (Thanks Cyrious!) Arc Gate sound is now less obnoxious (Thanks TokEtin and audi0c0aster1!) Improved graphics in the armory. Greatly reduced the frequency of elevators on missions. Improved lighting on shadow settings High and up. Misc optimizations.
Here's another quick update. I got a pack of animations, so I have been adding the animations to the character. I have pretty much all the animations, except for a couple that I will have to make manually, but I will add those after I import the final character model into the game (the one I have right now still needs a few tweaks).
I also have a first look at the protagonist. I think I said her name was going to be Lavinia (as a reference to Lavinia Whateley) in another post, but in case I didn't, her name will be Lavinia. In the "original" Nightmare game the plot was about twin sisters, and I still kinda like the idea, but I am not sure.
Things are sloooooowly moving forward. I think it's now time to work on a real test level (a level that actually feels like a game level, with challenges, puzzles and all) to see how it all works together.
