Hello everyone, hope you all enjoyed a splendid festive season and Happy New Year!
For the last month, we’ve been focusing on adding unique skills for our characters and giving players more choices when tackling different situations. In this update, we’d like to introduce some of the new and interesting skills we’ve been working on.
Queen’s Order
Lyndal has been one of the most popular units in the alpha. She’s able to deal heavy Pyro damage with her dragon, but the fact she can’t manipulate enemy positions is a drawback in some situations. To address this issue and make her skills more interesting, we developed another skill: Queen’s Order commands an ally to act on behalf of her. With this skill, Lyndal gives up her current turn to replenish an ally’s action points and movement, so the ally can use their skills twice in that turn.
Assassination
As an assassin, Shadow loves to show up out of nowhere and surprise the enemy! Shadow’s Ultimate positions him behind the target enemy, where he stabs them in the back for high damage. The definition of “behind” depends on the enemy’s attack direction, indicated by the yellow arrow.
Ninja’s Escape
That’s what ninjas do, right—throw a smoke bomb and disappear when they need to escape. Allies can also use Slink’s skill to dodge an enemy attack in the smoke.
Cyro Rain
Aster the mage utilizes Cryo energy to deal magical damage and assist allies in battle. When her skill targets an enemy, she deals burst magical damage to the enemy, but if she targets an empty square, the Cryo energy will form an ice block. Similar to rocks and other small obstacles, allies can hop over the ice block to dodge enemy attacks, so this skill can serve as either an attack or support.
Alternatively, her Ultimate can deploy a Cryo-snowman, which will attract the enemy’s attention, and also has its own skill.
Power Up
While facing the undead army might make others nervous, Darius sees it as nothing but another boxing match! His basic attack is like a boxer’s Right Hook: punch and push the target to the left. We think it will be interesting to see how his Ultimate interacts with his basic skill.
When Darius is powered up, he pushes targets in adjacent squares and increases the damage of his next Right Hook!
Electro Hook
This skill is a revision of “Eagle's Talon.” When Sorine, our Electro mage, uses her Electro Hook on an enemy or ally, she pulls that target towards herself.
When she uses the hook on an immovable object, she’ll pull herself towards the object. Useful when you need to get out of trouble!
Flying Blade
Kalar is a mage who can manipulate objects in space. His favorite weapon is his sword, but his special skill puts a different spin on things—he launches the sword to stab a target in the distance. After the attack, the sword flies back to him and faces the target towards himself.
Take note that if you target a ranged class enemy with this skill, they will target Kalar in turn. It’s less risky to use this skill against a melee enemy, but when it’s necessary Kalar doesn’t mind taking damage for an ally!
As you may have noticed, some Ultimates are quite powerful—these skills will have a usage limit. Typically this is once per battle to start, but players can perform upgrades to increase the usage limit. Recommendation: don’t use your Ultimate unless you’re really in trouble!
Thank you all for your support throughout developement! Please make sure to wishlist the game while you're here on the Steam page. If you want to join the community, feel free to join our Discord or follow us on Twitter!

For this second devlog, we would like to show you what we’ve been working on in the last months, but also what we’re working on right now. Aloft is a young project and, while we’ve made a lot of progress, there’s still much to do!
This devlog perfectly showcases that duality, as the resources and building machines were designed, but we didn’t have the assets to visually represent them. Fortunately, we now do and you can see them in this devlog!
Resources
In Aloft, you have access to a bunch of different resources, but they might not be what you’re used to.
Wood and stone are there, of course! They are some of the most important resources in the game, allowing you to build structures, masts, foundations, crafting machines and much more. Wood grows back, so you are unlikely to run out, though that might require some patience. Rock does not, but it is one of the more plentiful resources around.
Other resources you will be using often are the bones of great beasts long since dead, bleached by the sun and the ceaseless wind bearing the floating islands. Bones are useful to cook, craft tools and weapons and dye stuff white. Because of everything that happened, you’ll find plenty of bones, you might just have to travel a little bit.
Another outlier that’s definitely worth mentioning here is Flax. This pretty blue flower has been used in sail- and rope-making for thousands of years and in Aloft, it will play a similar role. After harvesting flax plants, either wild or cultivated, you can break them into fibers which are useful to braid ropes and weave linen sailcloth! Of course, we have many more resources that we’d like to share with you, but those will come in a later devlog.
Crafting machines
We already have an array of crafting machines with which you can transform resources (wood into planks, for example), but also build tools and weapons.
You can see some concepts and their 3D assets we created for the sawmill and millstone. Each will have various uses and recipes associated with them, recipes which can be found by discovering the appropriate resources in the world. Obviously, the sawmill is used to transform wood into lumber and planks, crucial to construct buildings.
The millstone is an interesting one. As you gather rare and exotic ingredients throughout the infinite sky, you can grind them in pulp or powder and use them in cooking and more.
And the best thing about those machines is that you can automate them. By harnessing wind power, they’ll run by themselves and cut your planks, break your flax and much more! More information on that in the next devlog.
What’s next?
In the coming weeks, we’ll be putting the final touch to the P2P multiplayer system as well as properly implementing the building and sail system in the game. Our artists are also designing the building parts that will go in the game. You’ll see how that’s going in the next devlog!

Bugvasion TD was released a year ago and we as a team are really proud of it, we’ve achieved what we wanted: to release a decent and fun game and Bugvasion TD did just that for us.
To celebrate the one year anniversary we are putting a 70% discount on the game for a week, so anybody who is still interested can pick it up with a huge discount.
We had a lot of plans for the game after release, the main thing being a free DLC with new levels and game mechanics - which we’ve partly managed to do in our Supercharged update adding a lot of new things last summer. However after this point it’s not feasible for us to invest anymore time and energy into Bugvasion TD, we wanted to get the clear picture for our players - what you buy is what you get - at least for now.
We are full of plans, other gaming projects are in the works - we should be able to announce our next “big thing” in the upcoming months.
Thank you for coming with us on this journey and supporting us, we hope you enjoyed our little quirky tower defence game, we will be back and we”ll keep you posted!
It's with great pleasure that we announce that we will participate in the 2022 February Steam Next Fest running between the 21st and 28th February with an updated demo for Rebots! We have lots of exciting content we can't wait for you to play that we've been working on the past year.
We have also updated the demo with a prerelease version so you can go and check it out early! We'll update the demo throughout the festival with more improvements and bug fixes so keep an eye out for those.
Finally, we'll be livestreaming a lot on Steam & Twitch as well as organizing an AMA during the week - we'll announce exact times during the weekend.
We are looking forward to sharing a lot about the game as well your feedback!
[Update Mar 15] The Memory Map Input/Output and Max Memory Usage Limit options were originally planned for release with the v.231 update, however they are still under development and their release has been delayed to a future update. We will update with additional information on when these options will be released as soon as the release schedule is determined.
Additionally, we highly recommend that you do a full re-install of the game to avoid any stability issues when upgrading to the 64-bit Client. Thank you!
Attention Maplers,
With the v.231 update, currently scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, 2022, MapleStory's game client will be upgraded to 64-bit, enabling improved performance on modern systems and to help us support MapleStory long into the future. As part of this update, MapleStory will no longer be playable on 32-bit (x86) operating systems.
Why Upgrade to a 64-bit Game Client?
MapleStory on 32-bit was limited in its memory to ~2 GB in usage, depending on the needs of the operating system. With the change to 64-bit, it will allow the MapleStory client to use more memory and improve client performance in various memory-intensive situations. While the 64-bit client will improve some client performance issues, please keep in mind that it will not resolve every issue you may have encountered previously.
How Can I Learn What Operating System I Have?
If you are unsure of what sort of operating system you have running on your PC, you can find out in the "About Your PC" System Setting page:
Use the Windows key to bring up the Start Menu, and click on the Gear icon to open up the settings.
Under "System" menu, select "About" at the bottom of the sidebar.
Look under "System type", which will tell you which type of operating system and processor you have.
It should show one of three possible options:
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor: No changes required, your computer is already set-up and good to go!
32-bit operating system, x64-based processor: Your computer's operating system is still 32-bit, however your system's processor is able to support a 64-bit operating system. In order to play MapleStory after the update, you will need to upgrade your operating system to a 64-bit version.
32-bit operating system, x86-based processor: Unfortunately, your computer is not able to support a 64-bit operating system, and will not be able to run MapleStory after this update.
System Requirements
Additionally, with this update to the MapleStory client, we will be increasing the Minimum and Recommended System Requirements for MapleStory to the below.
System
Minimum Requirements
Recommended Requirements
OS
Updated Windows 7 (64 bit) with Security Update KB3033929 *
* While these are the minimum requirements to run MapleStory, you may encounter unforseen scenarios and errors while running on Windows 7.
^ For a smooth installation, we recommend having at least 40 GB of hard drive space available.
Additional Options
[Update Mar 15] These options were originally planned for release with the v.231 update, however they are still under development and their release has been delayed to a future update. We will update with additional information on when these options will be released as soon as the release schedule is determined.
Finally, in a future update, two additional options will be made available in-game in a new 64-bit option menu:
Memory Map Input/Output (Default: Off): When enabled, this will allocate additional memory to MapleStory in order to improve data access speeds, improving overall performance.
Max Memory Usage Limit (Default: 50% of system RAM): Restricts how much memory that MapleStory can use. A higher cap will improve performance and loading times. When the cap is reached, the system will attempt to release unused memory, which may cause performance issues.
