Ad Agency Tycoon - Lospi
Hi Players! We're glad to finish another, perhaps our biggest update so far. We are introducing a new mechanics system to make the game more complex, add new features and ways of management.

This update will have a save loss. If you wish to avoid this, you can delete all save files related to feedback. But we recommend starting a new game.

- New Feedback Menu: Delete unused feedbacks, along with better organization to manage your feedbacks.
- Media Distribution: This is our new mechanics, here you'll be able to distribute your ads for your clients to different medias, and with specific Target Audiences (with specific tastes). You'll get pay for it as you increase your client's sales!
- Loan Counter: In debt because you hired a loan? You can now check how much time you have until you need to pay, and you also can pay in advance, with discount!
- New sound effects!
- Updated main character
- Minor optimizations

Bug fixes:
- Fixed the game freezing when changing to a new scenario
- Fixed bug when hiring feedback for completed companies
- Fixed typos and translations
- Fixed a bug that could cause the "Bad Ad" achievement to pop-up

SunnySide - Rxiny
Hey everyone!

Here at RainyGames, we've been super busy creating new content, systems and features to bring a big milestone alongside our Backerkit update. This will be a major update (0.9) for the game and therefore your old saves will not be compatible. ~sorry~

Backerkit Alpha Patch Notes 0.9

4 New NPCs!
While SunnySide Alpha's focus is on brigning a sandbox experience to everyone and not spoil the story, we still add as many new characters as we can to the world. This means while there isn't a social system in place, they still play a major role in the gameplay loop and provide you guys with some of the key items in the game.

The short and small questline present in the game has not been tweaked and it's still more of a proof of concept than anything.

These new NPCs include:
  • Hanako Ishikawa
  • Hina Nakamura
  • Kaida Amaya
  • Kyle Sylvester
6 Animal Variations!
Each of your favourite farm animamls now have 3 different variations! During the alpha, all of the animals are purchasable through Riverside Ranch albeit at different price points.

Not only do they look different, they each produce a different variation of their products.

3 New Map Locations!
Alongside these new NPCs, we've added 3 new major locations on the map for you guys to visit. These locations include:
  • Kyle's Mechanic and fishing shop

A major store location including both the mechanic shop and the bait and tackle shop. For now Kyle's mechanic is not in operation, but you can now purchase anything fishing related from him. Subsequently all the fishing equipment has been removed from Sako's shop.

  • SunnySide's Promenade

A lovely promenade, extending quite a bit into the sea. A lovely place to relax at the end of a busy day!

  • SunnySide's Shinto Shrine

One of the major locations of SunnySide, containing both the skill tree and the shop for most of the battle items. While battle isn't availble during the alpha, the skill tree is very much implemented.

Speaking of ..

New Mechanic: Skill Tree
The skill tree has always been a major part of the gameplay loop of SunnySide, and almost all of the systems in the game are designed with that in mind, and we're so happy to finally give you all a taste of how it works and affects gameplay!

Progression in SunnySide is tracked and improved everytime you use a skill. SunnySide keeps track of 10 Skill levels and an overall Character Level. The more you farm the more XP you gain in the farming category and so on. Every time a skill is leveled up, you gain XP towards your character level and every time you level up your character you will gain a Skill Point.

These skill points can then be spent on unlocking new abilities on the skill tree! The skill tree (which is an actual tree) can be accessed in the Shinto shrine of SunnySide: just approach the main building, go up the steps, and you can see or unlock new abilities!

Here at the studio, we think these abilites are a huge improvement to the overall experience of the game, and a fully levelled up player will be able to surf through many of the more time consuming aspects of the game!

New Mechanic: Cash Registers (Tills) for Shops
One of the most annoying problems of shops in the game in the past has been locating the NPC in question to start up their shop dialogue. This is a problem no more! We always planned for this system to work independant of where the NPC is and all that's been in the game so far was more of a quick workaround. However, from this update forward you can now access any shop's purchase or sell window through the cash register at the shop.

The cash register will have an icon on top of it indicating if it is open or not and it will summon the NPC from anywhere in the map to you as long as the shop is open. You can still access their personal dialogue by speaking directly to the NPCs themselves.

Not only is this a lot more convenient, it also acts as a safe guard for any NPCs planning their escape through the map's floor.

Complete Inventory Overhaul
The inventory of SunnySide has recieved a major overhaul over the past month. Now instead of 32 fixed slots, you have access to 6 different inventories each containing 24 slots. These inventories are categories based on what type of item is allowed inside them, and some items can be placed inside multiple inventories.

For instance an apple will go into your Harvest Basket but you can also place it inside the Bento Box or the Backpack.

These inventories, per usual, each include a hotbar that can be quickly surfed through outside of the inventory screen. You can switch between different hotbars while running around by using Ctrl + Mouse Wheel.

Tweaks and Improvements
  • Updated Dialogue
Most of the NPCs now have updated dialogue, so go talk to everyone! Alongside the updated content, the dialogue replies now include a small icon next to the dialogue indicating what that dialogue entails.

  • Multi-item packs
You can now purchase or recieve items that are in packages and need to be opened before use. You can do this by right clicking on an item inside the inventory.

  • Physics Improvements
Many items (especially small fruit) tend to penetrate through the map and fall to their demise, the improved physics takes care of this in most cases.

  • Performance and Frame Rate Improvements
We've hugely improved the performance of the game on both CPU and GPU.

  • New Settings
Accissibility is always at the top of our list at RainyGames, with that in mind, we've added our very first addition to the long list of accessibility options to come: Colour-blind settings.
You can toggle between Deuteranopia, Protanopia and Tritanopia options and even adjust the strength.
We hope you enjoy these new additions to the game! As always, if you encounter any bugs or issues, please submit them through our bug reporting website, accessible through the pause menu. And for everything else SunnySide, join our Discord sever below:

Dear community!

A long-awaited moment is finally here! We have opened the playtests to everyone!
We invite you to test, exploit and break our game, so we can know what to fix!
The list of things we’d like you to especially focus on include:
  • Does this game make you feel like you entered an ancient Chinese?
  • Is the game intuitive enough to play without tutorials?
  • Is the game running smoothly?
  • Is the game’s difficulty balanced well?
  • Can you survive the winter without dev-tools?
  • Are you having fun?
If you find any mistakes or ambiguities in the localisation, also let us know! We know that our player base is a group of diverse people from all over the world and we’d like to make the playing in your mother tongues as pleasant as possible! And even though our small team did not manage to prepare all planned localisations on time for the playtests, we will do our best to have as many as possible for the demo.

Any complaint, praise, feedback or ideas for the full game? Let us know in-game! While we are available on our social media and in our Discord, the most preferable way of reaching the devs specifically is the in-game feedback tool, you can access it by pressing ESC, it will bring out a menu, where you can send us a message!

We are very excited to show you the game, but please remember that this is an early version and we are fighting with bugs every single day. We are going to add much more content and exciting features, please be patient with us.

Battle Cry of Freedom - FSE_Olafson

Hello there! Welcome to another Developer Blog for Battle Cry of Freedom. This week we will be talking about something that is very near to our hearts: modding support.

    Modding Introduction
As many of you are probably aware, Flying Squirrel Entertainment was originally formed from the team behind the "Mount & Musket" modification for Mount & Blade: Warband, to make the official expansion for the same game: “Napoleonic Wars”.

All of us are former (and active) modders, having created mods for a number of games, such as Mount & Blade, Arma, Holdfast, the Total War Series and more. Modding is very important to us and we would like to provide our players with the ability to modify as much of the core games content as possible.

Our goal is to hopefully achieve a fully moddable experience within the next year. To achieve part of this goal we have already created a fully functioning in-game Scene Editor, that runs both offline and also in real-time while playing on a server. You can read more about our Scene Editor in this: Blog post.

    Uniform Modding
One of our newest features is the ability for players to modify and create their own uniform and character models. The new system allows modders to modify all the existing models included in Battle Cry of Freedom, such as hats, backpacks, leatherworks etc..

For this purpose, we will be providing modders with access to ALL of the uniform and character models currently included in the game, with future game updates adding more. At release modders therefore will have access to 5041 uniform models to play around with.
In addition, the system also allows players to create their own character models, for example creating aliens, astronauts or other full conversion modifications.

To evaluate the moddability and feasibility of the current system we worked together with several modders to create the first full conversion mod for Battle Cry of Freedom. Christopher Mauro provided us with a set of awesome-looking WW1 German and British Character models. We then asked popular Holdfast modder ApexPhantom to prepare the models for animations and optimize their textures by combining them into one large texture Atlas.

Suffice to say, they did a wonderful job, as the characters look fantastic.

To complement their work, we then took 3 days out of our busy schedule to create several WW1 themed assets. This also served as a good opportunity for us to evaluate the current modularity of the code back-end; an important step towards full moddability by modders who do not have access to the source-code of the game.

    Feature Showcase: First World War
In the short timeframe from Friday till Monday, we were able to create a large number of new features and assets. As a thanks to our community, all of these features will be included in the base game at launch for free. Since some of these features are quite unique, we thought it would be good to cover them in a little bit more detail.

    Renault FT-17
One of the most advanced Tanks in the war, with a turret that could rotate 360 degrees, and an engine compartment at the back, the Renault FT-17 was a small but maneuverable 2-man Tank that saw active service during the first World War.

In the game, the Tank has two crew spots, one for the gunner, and one for the Driver. Although slow, the Tank provides excellent protection against all kinds of small arms fire and even heavy machine guns. It requires 5 rifle grenades, or two High Explosive Shells from the QF 13 Pounder to destroy the tank.

The Renault FT-17 can drive over small trees and will destroy any fences or small destructible objects in its path. It can even crush through walls! Players should watch out, because getting under one of those Tank tracks can be deadly.

The Tank is equipped with a French Hotchkiss machine gun that can fire accurately up to several hundred meters. The Scope in the gunner's turret helps align the shots.

    Ordnance QF 13-pounder
The Ordnance QF 13-pounder was a small and light British Artillery Piece that could be quickly moved in and out of position. Although obsolete by the end of the First World War, the QF 13-pounder remained in service as an infantry support weapon.

In the game, the QF 13-pounder can fire Shrapnel Shells, High-Explosive Shells, Chlorine Gas Shells and White Phosphorus to cover the advance of friendly infantry.

Players who find themselves in a cloud of Chlorine gas will slowly suffocate, unless they are wearing a Gas Mask, which only special Classes can equip. Chlorine Gas is heavier than the air, which means that it will sink down into enemy entrenchments. However, it also travels with the wind, so gunners need to make sure that the wind is not going to carry the gas towards their own entrenchments.

    Maschinengewehr 08
The Maschinengewehr 08 was the standard heavy Machine Gun of the German Imperial Army during WW1 and was based on the original design of Hiram Maxim.

In the game, the gun can be picked up by players and transported elsewhere. Ammo boxes are 250 shots, and players can choose between both regular and tracer ammunition.

    240mm Mortar
Mortar design leading up to and during the First World War changed drastically. Previously only used for Sieges, the nature of Trench Warfare required all new mortar designs.

The mortar featured in the game is of Russian design, and basically identical to modern day mortars. It will be able to fire massive 240mm High Explosive Shells, Chlorine Gas Shells, White Phosphorus Shells and Illumination Flares.

And lastly, here is a full list of the new features.
