Many bug fixes
Despite the pandemic and the 2nd lockdown here in Quebec, we've managed to continue working on our little game, to fix a few bugs and add on fresh features - some even created from community feedback! We hope you enjoy what we've been working on :)
I am very pleased to finally announce that Within Skerry is now officially available and playable on Steam.
I may be biased when I say this, but I believe that this may be my scariest project, to date. But who knows! I will let you all be the judge of that :)
As always, if you play the game, please leave a review highlighting your thoughts. Whether you enjoyed the game or disliked the game, all feedback is extremely valuable and heavily appreciated.

Hello, everyone! We hope you’re all keeping well.
It has been a whole festive period since we’ve spoken. We’ve not been resting on our yule logs, though. Patch 7 is almost here, and we’re so excited for you to play it we could explode. That isn’t necessarily a hint, we’re just very excited. We’ve got a Panel from Hell coming up to properly reveal it, but let’s just say it’s going to be….pretty cool.
Ok, that might have been a hint as to what will be in the show itself - just keep yourself calm and all will be revealed soon.
Now, on to the meat of the day: Patch 7 is on the horizon, weighing in at approximately 32GB (so clear some space from the digital platter!), so we have to remind you that any saves made on Patch 6 or prior will no longer be compatible when updated. With Patch 7 installed, the total install size for Baldur’s Gate 3 will be approximately 100GB, so make sure you have plenty free.
So, let’s talk branching! (If that is what you desire!) There are options for you if you want to continue saves from previous patches, or if you want to make sure you’re staying current. Check out the below instructions for whichever method suits you best
1. How to Update Your Game to Patch 7: If you want to play the most up to date version of the game and have never opted into any beta branches in the past, then good news: You don’t need to do anything! When the patch releases, you will receive the most updated version of the game as long as you have automatic updates enabled. To enable automatic updates, please follow the steps below:
Right click on the game in your Steam library
Select properties
Click the Updates tab
Select "Always keep this game updated" in the drop down menu
2. How to Update to Patch 7 If You’ve Opted into an Earlier Beta Branch: If you previously opted into any beta for Patch 5 or earlier and want to ensure you get the most up to date content when Patch 7 goes live, then please follow the steps below:
Right click on the game in your Steam library
Select properties
Click the Betas tab
Select "None" in the drop down menu
3. How to Continue Your Patch 6 Save: If you want to continue your progress from Patch 5, then take the following steps. Save files are not ‘deleted’ from your computer; they’ll remain in your folder, but you’ll only be able to load saves specific to their respective versions.
Right click on the game in your Steam library
Select properties
Click the BETAS tab
In the list under "Select the beta you would like to opt in to", select Patch 6
Close the properties menu
If you’d like to continue your save file on the current version, you can move to the Patch 6 beta branch now. Save files are not ‘deleted’ from your computer; they’ll remain in your folder, but you’ll only be able to load saves specific to their respective versions.
Important Note: If you want the option to go back to a previous patch, it’s best to make a new in-game profile and backup your local saves from the previous patch. You can do the following before or after you update to the latest version:
Before starting a new playthrough, create a new profile by clicking the profiles button on the top left of the main menu. All your progress in the new patch will then be saved under this profile while your old saves are safe in the previous profile.
As an extra safety measure, you can manually back up your savegames:
Go to /Documents/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/PlayerProfiles/
Find the folder that is named after the profile you used in the previous patch
Copy and paste this entire folder into a backup location
If you want to revert back to the previous patch, follow the instructions above and activate your old profile
If you have somehow lost your progress by overwriting savegames and want to restore your old backed up savegames simply copy over your old profile folder into its original location again: /Documents/Larian Studios/Baldur's Gate 3/PlayerProfiles/
Sync back to the patch6 beta branch with the instructions above and load your old savegames
A Note On Mods: If you have any mods installed, or were using any in previous versions of Baldur’s Gate 3, please remove them before updating your game. You can do this by checking both the ‘Mods’ and ‘Public’ folders in '..\SteamApps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data' - if either of those folders are present, please delete them before updating. If applicable, please also delete the file ‘modsettings.lsx’ in the profile folder. Further information about mods can be found at https://larian.com/support/faqs/mod-information_77

SUPER BOWL LVI IS ALMOST HERE, BUT DON’T WORRY. THERE’S STILL A LOT OF FOOTBALL LEFT.
Pull up to the tailgate, swing by the cooler, and get grilling, ‘cause Rocket League is laying out this year’s Super Bowl game plan. We’re bringing back Gridiron LTM for some hard-hitting action, streaming Gridiron Games with some of the biggest players and content creators, and adding a third round of epic football content to the NFL Fan Pass!
NFL FAN PASS
The NFL Fan pass is the gift that keeps on giving, and this round is unstoppable! Anyone who purchased the 2021 NFL Fan Pass will automatically receive the latest bundle that includes Breakout and Fennec Animated Decals for all 32 NFL teams, plus the new Team Helmet Toppers to match!
The NFL Fan Pass will be available in the Item Shop for 1000 Credits for anyone who missed it before. Buying the pass will also give you access to all content from previous releases, including Dominus and Octane Decals for all 32 teams, Pigskin Paint Finish, and the complete Team Player Banner and Team Antenna collection.
NFL Fan Pass will be available from Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 9:00 a.m. PST (5 p.m. UTC) until Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6:00 p.m. PST ( Feb.16 at 2:00 a.m. UTC)
GRIDIRON LTM
All right, bring it in team, ‘cause running your best plays is the only way to score in this American football inspired LTM. Complete challenges to gain XP and unlock the NFL Wheels and Field General Player Title.
Just like in the past, the ball will attach to your car when you touch it; that’s the easy part. From there, rush and jump over your opponent’s defense to prevent them from stealing the ball. Score 3 points by dodging to throw a field goal, or try to run it home and score your team a whopping 7 points! Don’t forget to defend your QB from a demo on kickoff—it’s intended mechanics after all!
Gridiron LTM will be available from Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 9:00 a.m. PST (5 p.m. UTC) until Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6:00 p.m. PST ( Feb.16 at 2:00 a.m. UTC)
GRIDIRON GAMES
With the Gridiron LTM returning, we're also bringing back the Gridiron Games on Twitch with some of the biggest names in Rocket League! This exhibition match is easy to remember: 4 teams of 4 players, playing 4 quarters to determine the champion! The event will be hosted by RLCS pro and First Touch host Roll Dizz, and Coach and Content Creator Virge.
Gridiron Games starts Thursday, Feb. 10 at 10:00 a.m. PST (6 p.m. UTC)
Since Black Geyser released into Early Access in August 2021, we've been blown away by the sheer amount of feedback and support we've received. We knew that the game wasn't quite where we wanted it to be, and we wanted to work hard and use this time to refine our vision.
In total, we've delivered over 19 huge updates. From significant improvements to loading times, all new quest chapters, to a fully reworked tutorial and fresh zones: explore the northern frozen harbour of Freynagar, separated from the city by a huge ice dome, or take a trip to Amanuel's Hoard, the seaside fort owned by the greediest man in history.
We've also delivered Linux and Mac Support, a full rebalance for casters, implemented improved boss mechanics and delivered major improvements to its combat and damage scaling. We're not finished, and with our launch date agreed as March 17, 2022, we've still more to do in the coming weeks!
We wanted to thank everyone who has been on this journey with us, and we can't wait for you to dive into the full release as we get over the finish line. In the coming days, we'll be releasing more information on what's on the horizon, as well as some blog posts giving any new players greater insight into the world we've been creating and our all-new launch trailer.
I am very pleased to finally announce that Within Skerry is now officially available and playable on Steam.
I may be biased when I say this, but I believe that this may be my scariest project, to date. But who knows! I will let you all be the judge of that :)

Yes, only one month into 2022 and we’ve already given you a tantalising peek at what’s coming in Season Six, revealed our new narrative-focused Adventures and held our first ever Community Day – all while swearing off grog and meat. New year, new us and all that. So hold on to your tricorns and buckle up your boots as we barrel head-first into a look back at January’s antics in Sea of Thieves!
Content Update
After we’d scattered the sawdust and cleaned up the party poppers from the end of the Grogmanay celebrations, it was time to welcome in our usual monthly update to add another bunch of ongoing quality of life fixes, squish the odd bug that had crept in during the festive period, drop a few more hints about the Community Day at the end of January (more on that later!) and of course restock the Pirate Emporium shelves.
This first batch of 2022 Emporium goodies saw us looking to the stars with the astral Lodestar cosmetics, along with celebrating pirates tying the knot with the Wedding Party Emote Bundle and bringing back the Lunar Festival Pet Outfits for another fleeting New Year appearance! To marvel at every teeny-tiny change we made in this update, please cast your eyes over the release notes.
Of course, just a few days after this update we dropped a cheeky tease of the big 2022 Preview Event that was to follow before the end of the month, unveiling much, much more of the Sea of Thieves roadmap for this year…
News and Features
Down on the news deck, the ticker was working double-time on a cascade of January stories to leave you agog. After a short Christmas break, our Community and Creator stages burst back into life with a Community Spotlight for accessibility consultant SightlessKombat and a Creator Spotlight for botanist buccaneer CocoMayy. The workers at the Hat of Unfeasibly Glorious Fame factory also got back to work quickly, with eight new entrants making their way onto the Community Hub, along with a flurry of hats being given out over the course of Sea of Thieves’ inaugural Community Day!
If you were in the mood for a bargain this month, Sea of Thieves shed some pounds as part of the Lunar New Year Sales on both Xbox and Steam – hopefully some of you leapt on it like a tiger. Or should you have missed it and need a contemplative tune to listen to while you wistfully take to the grog, look no further than our latest Sea of Thieves soundtrack release, ‘A Star to Sail By’.
Capping off the month and serving as a celebration of all you courageous corsairs, our first Sea of Thieves Community Day welcomed a host of escapades across the seas – and while there were supporting activities like free login bonuses and a merch sale, the true highlight was the community spirit involved and adventures shared to help to raise the Community Day Emissary Grade, in turn triggering magnificent in-game gold and rep multipliers. Despite the meddling of a certain fruit-bearded buccaneer keeping players off the seas, you lot absolutely smashed our expectations, pushing the number of tagged tweets so high that Grade 5 was reached in a flash!
Speaking of a sudden flash, someone forgot to swap out the dodgy bulb on the segue alarm, it keeps blinking angrily at us – talk among yourselves while we fix it.
Videos and Streams
And we’re back. Enough talking, you up in the corner. Our big video reveal of this month was, of course, the 2022 Preview Event. Hosted by a rogue’s gallery of Rare faces, this grand video odyssey ran through our plans for Sea of Thieves in 2022, revealing Adventures and Mysteries, showing off the Sea Forts coming in Season Six, calling time on The Arena and debuting the cinematic trailer for the first Adventure, ‘Shrouded Islands’, coming on February 17th. Seeing you lorehounds immediately get to work crafting theories, we’re impressed but also slightly scared.
For the Twitch devotees, January continued the rollout of Twilight Hunter togs via Twitch Drops (along with the Gilded Phoenix Tankard for those who tuned in to any participating Sea of Thieves streamer on Community Day). We even chucked in the Flirt Emote – for when you’re looking all dark and mysterious in your full Twilight Hunter gear and want to catch the attention of that dashing Athena’s Fortune Emissary from across the tavern.
Social Channels
Between all the fun of announcing the next 12 months of fun for Sea of Thieves, complete with its own roadmap, there was still the usual blend of exclusive goodies and cheeky nonsense to be found on our social channels. For those looking to fully embrace the Community Day spirit we released a list of suggested challenges, a special set of wallpapers and other visual phantasmagoria, while at other times we asked everyone to reveal their resolutions for the New Year, spied a certain white Megalodon for the briefest of moments, encouraged judicious scrolling and had everyone guessing words, as seems to be the Internet’s current obsession.
Like the troopers they are, our regular hashtags continued their unending content collation quests: #TriviaTuesday had us learning more about Dark Relics and chief fog fearer Wonda among other things, while #SoTGear had us oohing and aahing at yet more flashy cosmetics ranging from the Merchant Pathfinder Sails to the Ashen Lord Tattoos.
With our New Year, New You #SoTShot theme being full of people reinventing themselves for 2022, we went a little less introspective and asked people to take a load off with our Sitting Pretty theme for mid-January. Following some fantastic photos of sedentarysailors, we’re hoping February’s theme of Sightseeing will now get you back up off your backsides and out exploring the seas. If you’re looking for ideas for scenic locales, #SundayVibes is always good for inspiration – with January’s tour taking in the views at spots like Sea Dog’s Rest, the Lagoon of Whispers and Lonely Isle, in a cruise perfect for introverts.
Oh, and Happy New Year! We know it’s February now, but still.
One month down, 11 more to go! If you’ve managed to keep to your New Year’s resolutions so far, well done – we hope one of them was to follow all our social channels. It wasn’t? Shocking. If you need a reminder, they’re Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and the official Forums and Discord server for discussing such important topics like the Pirate Lord’s favourite crisp flavour. For our money, it’s prawn cocktail but we could be convinced of cheese and onion. Answers on a crisp-stained postcard please.
