I have been thinking about some changes to the Gate AI algorithm in order to make the gameplay more fun and not unreasonably mean. I tried one simple change yesterday and it worked quite well. This morning I refined it further and made it more fluid. Here are more details on all the changes.
Gate AI Complacency
The spawn strength of the enemy Gate is now adjusted according to the status of the cores. If the enemy units have captured a number of cores and they are in the process of carrying it to the gate, then the gate becomes more complacent about victory and starts cooling down. This results in the reduction of spawn strength. This gives the player some chance to recover from a bad situation. If he succeeds in freeing the stolen cores, then the gate starts becoming more agitated and regains its spawning power. This mechanism allows for interesting tug-of-war mechanism between two sides.
Other changes
Fixed the flickering of the selection rings on the widgets in the level editor
Added a chance mechanism to the fire damage that lava tiles can deal. Without this, it's possible to create long lava fields that the enemies will never be able to cross, thus leading to infinitely running levels.
Reduced the maximum number of enemies that get fire damage in the cone of fire of the Pyro towers. It used to be 7, now it's 4. This keeps the strength of the Pyro balanced, especially now that it costs same as the Gun (since last build)
Adjusted the Grinder blade physics so that the enemy unit comes close enough before getting splattered
Fixed an issues with the "Show health bars" setting change. You don't have to restart the game for this change to take effect now.
Cleanup progress ring on towers when they are destroyed. This was causing some unfinished progress rings displayed across levels
Restart the pending upgrades indicator, if the tower is moved. This indicator used to disappear once the tower was relocated, even though the upgrades were in the queue.

UPDATE Mission giver locations are now visible anywhere you scroll on the mini-map, not just in the immediate area around where you are currently standing. UPDATE Added game setting to toggle party chat on/off. UPDATE When setting a waypoint or auto walking to some location, if the destination is more than a zone away, it will adjust the path to the nearest taxi instead. UPDATE Random chip pickups spawned around the world are now more frequent and give more chips. UPDATE Front doors to buildings are now disabled while participating in Chip Race and Mail Rush missions. UPDATE Adjusted the display of broken down casino games to be more obvious which are broken when entering someone else's casino. FIX Improved scaling of poker lobby at different resolutions. FIX Players entering non-casino floors (like the real estate office) now correctly use the front door when viewed by other players. FIX Various fixes and improvements to new player tutorials. FIX Casino games can now be played in a casino that you have just opened without needing to first reload. FIX Casinos purchased from the market would sometimes bombard you with popup notifications when entering the floors. FIX Various other error and bug fixes.
The Magic Realm now will guide players to the next level. All level portals are revealed in The Magic Realm. This update will help players of all ages and skill levels find the next challenge more quickly.
Fixed the report not submitting after it gets interrupted by the alarm
Fixed a stray question mark appearing in the bathroom on day 8

Do people read patch notes? There are loads of features I've never used on Steam that I'm only learning about after having made a game. Like I hardly ever used wishlists, and I'm pretty sure I never knew a short description on the store page was a thing. A hyperloop-powered color mixing operation somewhere in the snowy valleys ruled by penguins and snowmen. The idea is to manufacture all primary colours and mix those into black colour. 21:40 timer, three island layout and tight budget.
It is 1863, we are taking part in the First Transcontinental Railroad construction, an effort to unite the country again. Build your tracks all the way to Promontory Point and connect the oceans. 14:00 timer, DNDATT, several historical landmarks to look for shortcuts around and historically accurate lack of locomotive upgrades.
Raven Railway is a compact mountainous valley with a two-part layout divided by a waterway with an island in the middle, separate altitude levels, a Customs station, a Toll station, DNSAT, DNDATT and a number of expensive production buildings to build.
A different take on leaving some clues for the players, Golden Gate Parks has almost no terrain-related restrictions and a whole bunch of unfinished and seemingly leading somewhere railway tracks. A Customs station and two autotrains will make next 12 minutes of your Train Valley 2 session extra puzzling :)
Two parts valley with different altitude and the only way to transfer trains between the two is a moving terraforming powered platform in the middle triggered by a delivery to the PC factory right next to it. 24 elevator platform uses later make sure you have got all 5 stars :) Mind the gap!
14:00 minutes DNRT journey through mud moats of Muddy Circles. WE're here to supply a particularly well-defended Canned Food Factory using produce from local farmers. Locomotive cleaning costs are going up with every delivery, some preplanning is in order it seems :)
Tonight we are riding a pyramid. With trains. In 13 minutes. With stealth option out of the picture disguising whole operation as series of Passenger Flow deliveries is our plan B. We can even throw in building a new Power Plant to further confuse local authorities :) Great landscaping, canned spiders, no locomotive upgrades.
Based on a certain series of dystopian novels, Tie Down In Small Pots is an island with delivery quests that has at least 8 different access points and only so much space for moving the trains around. A hyperloop shortcut, DNSAT and 28 minutes timer. Have fun, and don't fall in the water! :)
We are trapped inside this octavarium. Good thing we have some production buildings inside and our trusty locomotives ready. Each Books related delivery might open a way out. Hyperloops, 15:00 with a side dish of blowing up obstacles :)
Scientific train smashing at relativistic speeds-for science! We are building a new Locomotive Head-on Collider, but first we'll need to raise a lot of money and make sure we have a lot of Electricity. We'll also need building supplies, steel, trained engineers, wiring, electronics, computers-the list goes on, but so does the timer. And speaking of time, there is also a swiss hand watch delivery to complete. Don't ask where the gold is from :) At least 10 trains to Supercollide™, DNDATT and 17:00.

Zero Hour’s Operation Red Wedding consists of 5 new weapons, 1 new map and miscellaneous improvements. We are also bringing improvements in Network Structure and setting up Mocap equipments. This update primarily consists of content updates but more 'Quality Of Life' improvements are still on the way.
Main Features:
Five New Weapons
SKS: Sat right in between the distinguished old bolt action Mosin Nagant and the historic AK-47 platform, which dominated for decades, for this reason, the SKS is like the middle child everyone forgot. The SKS-45 is a homely, though robust, rifle. Its metalwork and stock may be crude, but it has proven to be a remarkably reliable rifle, as are most Soviet-made guns. The rifle's lightweight and open style iron sights made acquiring a target easy at even 200 meters. This is available for Terrorists.
Honey Badger: The honey badger was created at the request of an elite U.S special operations group looking to replace their mp5 SDS with an upgraded platform. Two of the main requirements included the ability to shoot a rifle caliber round while maintaining low visibility, and of course, it needed to retain a high level of suppression. This is available for Counter-Terrorists.
MK12: The Mk12 was built for the U.S army to make a smaller, reliable gun and more versatile. The reason is they need something to blend better in urban environments. One of the commonalities of all mark 8 across mark 12's is an 18-inch barrel so that it's long enough to be ballistically effective but short enough to be portable. This is available for the Counter-Terrorists.
CZP10C: The P10C is a polymer-framed striker-fired handgun. It came to market in 2017 for personal defense, and the military actually introduced this handgun to be a direct competitor of the G-19. This is available for both Counter-Terrorists and Terrorists.
FN FAL: The FAL - or, to give its full name, the 'Fusil Automatique Léger', is a battle rifle characterized by its selective-fire ability and chambering for a full-powered rifle cartridge. By modern standards, the FAL is a hefty weapon - modern assault rifles fire smaller cartridges and make extensive use of polymers to reduce weight - while the FAL is a full-size rifle of entire steel construction. This is available for Terrorists.

Red Wedding
The Major General’s daughter Taniya was to be married to Mashrub on the 4th of January but hell broke loose as Terrorists attacked the venue during the ceremony. Local Officials state at least 40 people have been killed and 15 wounded. If the terrorists manage to capture Taniya, they will use her as leverage to get what they want from the Major. The MS-Unit has been dispatched to the scene with the area in strict lockdown. The venue has already been taken over by terrorists along with civilians still inside. There are fears the number of dead could rise.
More Features
Overhauled Movement Animation
We are experimenting with various methods to improve the overall fps movement animations to counter the feel of stuttered animation transitions (This overhaul is set to change with all current animations in the game thus far.)
Updating Network Structure
We are working together with Photon Networks to give you the best experience with online gameplay. We expect better service and connectivity compared to the prior network structure. This would further improve our security for anti cheat detection. This may lead to removal of unused or unpopular regions to compensate for the more active regions.
Geforce Now Anti-Cheat Issue
We are aware of the issues being faced by players using Geforce Now due to anti-cheat installation being a requirement for Quick-match. Rest assured with this update we will have that fixed.

We have made good progress working with Squad AIs with the basic functionality added, such as Stacking up, breaching preparation, covering, or following when ordered to do so. More features are yet to be done, and more information will be out with later updates.
The idea is to create a dynamic system that wont require predefining anything for the AIs in existing or new maps.
Mocap Equipments
We are setting up our own Mocap Studio which we plan to use to make better and more grounded TPS animations and further add to our future content experiences.
The planned release date for this update is in 7th March 2022. We have more news and updates for Operation Red Wedding which we will provide in detail soon so stay tuned.
