Mictlan: An Ancient Mythical Tale - Anna_Somniar
Hi, Mictlantecs!

Today we want to show you the #WIP of the reconstruction of the Temple of Xochipilli.
Its design is based on a real structure found at the Templo Mayor in Mexico's City; the only part that was created by our artists is the oratory on top of the structure.

This place was dedicated to the god Xochipilli, which means “Prince of Flowers” or “Flowery Noble”. He was the god of flowers, love, games, beauty and pleasure.

Have you checked our previous post about this god? You can see our design and learn more about this important figure.

His temple was used for celebrations in which the people of Tenochtitlan would bring lots of edible offerings, while Tenochtitlan’s neighbors would instead bring prisoners to be sacrificed as tributes.

Cities: Skylines - CO_Avanya
Hello to all my fellow city-builders! True to tradition every new expansion comes with a free patch full of goodies for everyone, and this one is no exception. Following the theme of creative freedom and customization, we have a few new features for you, as well as an update to how planes behave. So let’s dive in!

Improvements to PlaneAI
Airports presented a great opportunity to improve how planes behave. We have added more variation in how planes select a path, which leads to the use of multiple plane stands, not just for the new Airport Areas, but also the existing airports. And if you’ve ever encountered the bug causing airplanes to endlessly circle above your airport, you will be happy to know that it is fixed.

But it isn’t just the planes that have had their behavior updated, as the improvements also affect other public transport options bringing in passengers from outside connections. Beyond passenger and cargo planes, passenger ships and trains coming in and out of the city are less frequent, but have a higher passenger count when arriving, reducing unnecessary traffic.

Replace trees on roads
You can now replace trees on roads and pedestrian paths with any tree available in the game! To do so simply go into the Landscaping menu and find the tree you want to use, select it and click on a tree-lined network already placed in your city to apply the new tree. This is done per segment, so you can customize the networks you want with the many different trees. And the best part is this is free since the cost of trees is already included in the cost of the network!

And speaking of trees, the free patch includes 14 new trees by MrMaison everyone gets to enjoy and use! From palm trees to pines to grasses and bushes, there’s something for every map!

Enjoy the shade of your favorite tree

Buy or sell soil
While we’re in the Landscaping category let’s look at some changes to how soil works! You still use and store soil as you landscape the terrain, but we have added an option to buy or sell soil making landscaping, and also creating Airport Areas, easier. No more running out of soil and having to dig a hole, or creating a mountain just to dispose of excess soil! Just click the new button in the Landscaping Info View active when landscaping or creating Airport Areas.

Buy or sell soil to finish your landscaping project easily

Service Vehicle Selection
Pairing nicely with the new vehicles by bsquiklehausen is the option to select which city service vehicles can spawn for Healthcare, Deathcare, Fire Department, Police Department, and Garbage. This is set per service building and the menu for this can be found by opening the respective service building’s Info Panel. The button to change vehicles is found in the bottom right, but it’s only visible if there is more than one vehicle to choose from.

This doesn’t just work with the Content Creator Pack, but any custom vehicles you may be using.

Pick your favorite vehicle or let the game randomize them all

As we prepare for the release tomorrow please ensure your seat is in an upright position and direct your attention to the patch notes below. Thank you for choosing Cities: Skylines Airports.

Tabletopia - markh110

Ever wanted to run your own TV network? Or build your own skyscraper empire?

Gil Hova - designer and CEO of Formal Ferret Games - has partnered with Tabletopia to temporarily make 3 of his games non-Premium and available for anyone to play!

Welcome to the TV business! In The Networks, you are the owner of a new television network. All you have are three awful public access shows, a small amount of cash, and endless ambition. Plus, it looks like you're not the only new TV network in town...

Can you snatch up the best Shows with the most popular Stars and the most lucrative Ads? Can you get enough Shows of the same Genre to make your network stand out? Can you best utilize the powers of the handy Network Cards?

Whose network will get the most Viewers and win the game?

You are a fledgling TV network trying to win the most Viewers over an evening of television. Unfortunately, your opponent is one as well! Which of you will become the most popular network?

The Rival Networks is a standalone 2-player version of The Networks. Take turns improving your Network’s most important prime time slots. On your turn, you’ll develop a Show, and sign a Star and an Ad. Shows and Stars give you Ratings Points, which turn into Viewers. You’ll use Ads to buy powerful Network Cards that offer useful powers.

Which Network will get the most Viewers and win the game?

High Rise is a strategic city-building game with a bit of corruption. You can get bonuses on your actions by gaining Corruption, but the game will periodically penalize the most corrupt players, and everyone loses VP for Corruption at the end of the game.

You'll perform all your actions — like collecting resources, constructing buildings, and repaying favors — on a one-way track. Like other one-way track games, you can go as far as you'd like, but you'll only get another turn when everyone else passes you. You gain 1 VP per floor for each building you construct. Tenants offer powerful actions that change each game. You can collect a tenant power by landing on its space or constructing a building on its card.

The round ends after everyone makes a lap around the one-way track. Players score bonus points for tallest buildings in each neighborhood and the game. After the appropriate number of rounds, players lose points for Corruption, and the player with most VP wins!

Organs Please - hellen_kopf
Hello,‌ ‌new‌ ‌employee!‌ ‌

Thanks to the wonderful time during The Big Adventure Event we had a bunch of new employees willing to take on the role of a recycling factory manager. The event is over today, but you still can watch the dev interview with Oleg Babenkov, the team lead of Organs Please, who is really excited to put blood 🩸, sweat 💦 and other bodily fluids 🧪 into the making of the game.

https://youtu.be/SuOVTdhp5rg?t=4061

And while the event is over, your working hours at the factory are not! We got some very positive feedback from you and decided to let the demo stay publicly available for an extra week. Download it now, play it and invite your friends. And don’t forget to share your thoughts about the demo with us.

Sincerely,
State Vigilance Committee

Conqueror's Blade - katiezenn
When the sound of clashing blades is deafening against the silence of winter, what is left when the battle is over? War poets have told the stories of conflicts for centuries, and their harrowing accounts remind us of the true price of freedom.

HordeCore - KyuKyu
Hello, survivors!

Recently we’ve released a brand new Playtest for HordeCore! For this occasion, we’ve prepared a special Q&A blog with our developers to shed light on recent events around the game and tell you more about what’s next for HordeCore!

Enjoy!

How’s the team doing in general?
We're doing great, thanks for asking!

As we get closer and closer to revealing our release date, we're all growing very anxious to unveil what we've been working on for the past few months, and it's really exciting to know that more people will get to enjoy the world we're creating pretty soon.

What have you been focused on for the last few months?
It's been quite a ride, and we've had no shortage of things to do while getting our wastelands ready for new adventurers!

From bug squishing to creating awesome new weapons, new abilities, new places to explore, new threats to overcome, a couple of cool new UI features, and a myriad of funny hats, we're doing our best to ensure everyone can have a blast splattering hordeling brains over their favorite characters.

These new effects look cool - tell us more about them!
We think so too!

An important part of the challenge in HordeCore is to constantly overcome the odds of being outnumbered by all kinds of threats, so we wanted to make sure there was some "oomph" to the player's abilities and weapons while they're doing so, without letting it become too overwhelming to control. We feel like we struck a good balance, and we're eager to hear what our players think - and to continue to improve on it.

Are you planning to add more classes?
Oh, definitely!

We want to give the player the opportunity to explore our challenges with as many different playstyle combinations as they can think of, and that includes loot, character classes, and even abilities.

That's also the reason why you're not restricted to the same abilities in every class, in fact, one of our favorite additions to the game was the Ability Modifier system, which lets you modify your active skills way beyond their default behavior, to the point where you could have a full squad of Survivors with the same class but different abilities on all of them.

We have quite a few tricks under our sleeves that we can't wait to reveal, but you'll hear more about them in due time!

If you could implement any feature with a flick of a finger, what would it be?
That's easy, pet costumes!

Everyone in the team feels very strongly about the idea of slaying hordes of enemies alongside our favorite pet in a shark costume! But don't get us talking about it or we'll end up taking longer to finish the game because we're too busy designing dog-sized outfits.

Last, but not least — how have you spent the Holidays?
With the current events, we're all (unfortunately) aware of, we made sure to spend some time with those we love, be it physically, digitally, or on the other side of a phone call.

We also caught up on our favorite games, books, or shows, and we took some time off to reflect on the future of HordeCore, as well as everything we wish to accomplish on what we're hoping will be a very exciting year!

HordeCore will be coming out in 2022 on PC and other platforms. Wishlist and stay tuned for our upcoming announcements! Thank you for reading and stay safe!
