Happy New Year!

We hope you enjoyed your Winter Wonderland and had some time to spend with your tribes (in and out of game 🤓). Although we are continuing to focus some development efforts on Lost Island, we want don't want you to lose sight of new content that's to come in 2022!

In addition to 3 new creatures launching in June with Fjordur, we'll also be releasing Carcharodontosaurus as a separate, free update later in 2022!

Let's take a look at the dossiers of 2 new creatures coming to Fjordur and announce the winner of the second Community Creature Vote.





Common Name: Andrewsarchus
Species: Andrewsarchus mongoliensis
Time: Middle Eocene
Diet: Omnivore
Temperament: Opportunistic


Andrewsarchuses are full of surprises. These ungainly creatures seem sluggish while foraging for a meal, but they can move unexpectedly fast when provoked. Like some other whippomorphs, an Andrewsarchus will aggressively defend its territory against interlopers its size or smaller on sight.

With some distance between you, it might be possible to dodge a charging Andrewsarchus, since they don’t exactly turn on a dime. Just don’t expect a river or lake to protect you from one. If its feet can touch bottom, Andrewsarchus will barely be slowed by deep water.

These scavengers will tear into just about anything if hungry, but they do seem to have a sweet tooth. I've seen Andrewsarchuses pacified by honey and sweet fruit.


Once tamed, Andrewsarchus is a reliably fast beast of burden, as long as you don’t need it to take any corners at full speed. Its density in water also makes it ideal for searching the ocean floors for pearls.

Andrewsarchus is probably most useful for light reconnaissance, once you mount a minigun to the back of its saddle. It can't absorb as much damage as some of the ARKs' larger creatures, but it's great for harassing them.

Some say a gun-saddled Andrewsarchus reminds them of a puma, a walrus, or even a warthog, but I don't see it.

Species: Parabuteo veðrfölnir
Time: Mid-late Anthropocene
Diet: Omnivore
Temperament: Calculating


Most of the creatures I’ve encountered here have endured thanks to their great size, strength, or ferocity. But the fjordhawk gets by on its wits and by scavenging. The bird also seems to have an almost preternatural ability to predict and avoid danger. Fjordhawks follow predators (and survivors) from on high, watching for their moment to swoop in and snatch up an easy meal.


Tamed fjordhawks are surprisingly playful, and their favorite game is fetch. Indulge your bird with this play and a bit of patience, and you’ll reap the rewards. Just point out a target, and your fjordhawk will fly off to retrieve it for you. A well-trained fjordhawk can locate injured prey and communicate its find to you.

These clever birds will bond with humans as wholeheartedly as any canine or primate, in a way uniquely suited to this time and place. If you should meet with some grave misfortune, your fjordhawk will immediately fly off with as many of your belongings as it can carry. As soon as you’re respawned by the ARK, your friend will track you down and return your equipment to you!

Deep Space Expedition 47 - Sidrus

Welcome to the inaugural development update for Deep Space Expedition 47. I'm looking forward to our journey together as we set out to establish colonies in deep space. I'm working on this game by myself, so while I will make regular update, it may take me a bit longer.

Dear players,

The past weeks have been very stressful for me for many reasons. That's why I wasn't able to publish the test version of the new update in December as I had planned. I am not completely done with the update and I also have a lot of personal things to do that will take a lot of time (including moving across the city) in the next few weeks, but I wanted to give you the opportunity to test the improved engine and new content.

In order to test the new version:
  1. Right-click on Galactic Crew II in your Stream library
  2. Select "Properties..." from the context menu
  3. Click on "BETAS"
  4. Select "test"
  5. Wait for the update to download



Thats's it! I will provide a full feature overview when the update is completely done, but here is a brief summary. Most of the stuff has already been explained in previous dev logs.

Inter-dimensional storage
You can now pack resources and items into inter-dimensional containers and share them across any galaxy in any save game! Do you have achieved riches in one save game and want to start a new game? Just store some of your stuff in inter-dimensional containers and access them from anywhere.



One of the new rooms, the assembly room, has a station to pack up to 200 goods and up to 5 items into one inter-dimensional container. These containers are normal items and can be traded and moved as such.



The other new room, the portal room, has a station to access the new global inventory. You can only put inter-dimensional containers in there, but the inventory can be accessed from any other portal room in any colony in any save game!



The inter-dimensional container is a new craftable item which requires rune stones. Rune stones are new collectible items from temple ruins. You can also craft a new piece jewelry which grants four extra skill points!

Treasure maps and dungeons
There is a new item that can be looted from enemies: trasure map parts. You can assembly several of them to a treasure map. Treasure maps are useable items that will reveal a new dungeon position. The mechanic pretty much works like rumors, but you will have a temple at this location which is your prime source for rune stones that are required for the portal stuff.

The chance of temple dungeons to have multiple levels has been increased.

If you enter a dungeon that has multiple levels, a new info panel in the upper left corner will inform you about the current dungeon level.

Improved level editor
The overview of the available terrains for the level editor in the main menu has been cleaned up.



User interface controls that had no effect and where obsolete have been removed from the level editor.

New filter options for planetary content have been added to the editor.

Quality-of-life
When capturing a new ship, a dialog shows the difference between your ship and the other ship before you finalize your decision of capturing the ship.

Game engine improvements
The game should run faster and smoother. I fixed most of the memory leaks I could find until now. Most of which were in a third-party component that I use. I also migrated the base technology from .NET Framework 4.7 to .NET 5 which has no direct effect on the game itself, but it makes the game engine future-proof.
InfraSpace - Dionic Software
Hello everyone,

after this week, the holidays are officially over for most of us and we're back to full time work on InfraSpace. Still, I uploaded a couple of fixes for you already today, see the end of the post.

Last year we spent most of our time getting the basic building blocks of the game together so we could have a proper Early Access release. After release, we kept up weekly update releases to address QoL issues and bugs quickly. All of that worked well, but when we released the trains update, we had to wrestle with more bugs than we would have liked - and those messed with the experience more than they should have.

I think for 2022 it is wise to not do small weekly updates as the norm, but instead spend more time on the large feature updates. That being said, I still want to keep up the weekly devlog to keep you informed on the progress and keep us open to feedback.

Friday updates may still occur from time to time, but they will focus on bugfixes instead - which is the case today! I went through the bug reports over the holidays and fixed the following:

  • Fixed performance issue where the game would start to lag when building roads through areas with a lot of neighboring roads
  • Fixed an issue were car traffic could get stuck for no visible reason in areas with a lot of factories very close to each other (like microchip factories rotated by 90 degrees to make them smaller)
  • Fixed an issue where you couldn't move roads after building rails and vice versa

Gear up Survivors!

It's an exciting weekend ahead as we have a special Double XP weekend for everyone! As a special bonus, Premium Season Pass holders will receive Triple XP!
Stickit - Symphonym
If you thought the Level Editor update & Steam Workshop update would be the biggest one for a while you thought wrong! This is another large update that lets you play Stickit online together with your friends in a seamless manner!

The multiplayer is opt-it, so you can leave/join servers whenever you want without having to leave a level or lose any progress. Furthermore you can play custom Steam Workshop levels together with your friends as well!

And if you wonder how your friends are actually able to make the climb, you can toggle the Spectator Mode by pressing K (default keybind) and see the game through their eyes!

You're also able to communicate with your friends through an in-game chat, which will additionally notify everyone in the server when someone in it completes a run! Maybe some friendly competition is in order!

There's also a dedicated speedrunning community for Stickit, so this patch also adds Speedrun Splits for the main level. In addition, the level editor now also lets you place and define speedrun splits for your own custom levels!

There's also tons of smaller bugfixes and quality of life being introduced in this patch, too many to mention, so hop on in-game and get a feel for this fresh new version of the game!

Please let me know how the Linux build plays. I don't really have a proper setup to test on Linux. I have a very old laptop that runs Mint and was able to start a new game. My main concern is with Steam cloud and our saves. I haven't managed to successfully transfer my pc save over via steam cloud to the linux build. If you managed to do so with the current setup please let know. I hope this Linux / Steam OS build will help the compatibility of the game for Steam Deck when it eventually launches.
