Basically, I've had about a two-week winter vacation from school. I've had a lot of time to think about what I should do with the franchise, especially now that we've sold over 50,000 units! For nearly the whole vacation, I've been trying to decide whether I would want to make Duck Simulator 3 and reach a bigger audience (this was just a school project I put on Steam!) or update Duck Simulator 2 with a multiplayer campaign. And tonight I just realized that I was going about it all wrong, and should ask all of you what you think!
Should I begin work on Duck Simulator 3 in a few weeks, I would likely be able to promise a Summer 2022 release date. However, if I update Duck Simulator 2 with a multiplayer campaign then Duck Simulator 3 could be delayed as far as Winter 2022. The multiplayer campaign definitely wouldn't be any small addition, either! Either way, here's what you could expect from both.
Duck Simulator 3
A completely new game with a much longer story (2-4 hours compared to Duck Simulator 2's 30 minutes)
An included multiplayer campaign, whether that be at launch or via an update
Actual content after the main campaign ends
Duck Simulator 2 Multiplayer
An update to the already existing Duck Simulator 2
Up to four players per room in a game similar if not exact to "A Fable of Below"
Three chapters, each about 20 minutes long (players can only play at their combined lowest chapter)
This version of the game is really bare bones and is really just me getting the Networking and Multiplayer to work. So don't be disappointed when there isn't much gameplay!
