Dear Lost Technology fans,

We've rolled out an update to add the story part for the Musket faction.

The Story of Musket
An archaeologist discovered weapons known as firearms while excavating a ruin. Intrigued, he planned to use them to win the war and form a technology-based society. But first, he needed to find a way to win the city's democratic election and grasp power.



Main Characters

Archaeologist - Lars:

A mercenary and self-proclaimed archaeologist. Makes his money as a mercenary because archaeology doesn't pay well enough. He became interested in the muskets he found in some ruins, and his interests are shooting and reading. He has some skill with languages and is able to read old script. Primarily concerned with finding games and entertainment that have died out. Convinced the ruins tell of a time when there was great peace. He's determined to end the fighting. The type of person to act first and think later. Took on the task of establishing the military organization of Musket.



Lars' assistant - Crookes:

A therianthrope and archaeologist, working to help Lars. Bucking the conventional wisdom that therianthropes have less intelligence than humans she has a keen grasp on several subjects. Able to accept and understand almost anything Lars has to say with an accurate, calculated way of thinking, unlike Lars' friends. Crookes hit it off with Lars when they two first met while exploring the same ruins. Rather introverted, she admires Lars' ability to act without overthinking.

Thanks to Tom, this one has a version of expert mode that is very close to feature-complete. Balance feedback is still needed from more folks on it, and I have some more ui work to do on the top resource bar, and there are some more optional features planned for expert mode, but the really core stuff is all there from Strategic Sage's point of view, which is super exciting! He and I had been plotting these features since May, so that was quite the wait, and I thank him for his patience and ongoing advice on it. Tom has really made expert mode happen way faster than I would have been able to, which is a huge boon, I'm really grateful.

In other news, I've reviewed all the mods since we're nearing the end of this beta period, and marked the ones that are not ready yet as being disabled, and let the various authors know for those who did no already know. On that note....

Civilian Industries has been something that took a ton of work to convert over, but StarKelp came in and smashed the last of the issues with that, and it's now back in working order for the first time since entering the beta period! That's quite exciting since this is one of the most popular mods, particular for newer players.

I've been working primarily on multiplayer, getting the bugs in that ironed out so that the beta branch will be as-good-or-better than the current stable branch for multiplayer. I'm not quite to that point yet, and I would not call the multiplayer playable on the beta branch just yet, but I think perhaps tomorrow it will be. There's a few other last-minute bugs that I see have been reported for single player as well, so I'll knock those out before we get off the beta branch in general.

With Stellar Pixie, a Core Charger will be prepared at the landing site of Level 1,
and all Core Chargers will have three charges available.
Stellar Pixie can be built when a Clear Rank of S is achieved for six or more stages.


With Snow Pixie, Powerbots can be boarded without the consumption of Disks.
Snow Pixie can be built when a Clear Rank of S is achieved for three or more stages.

-Fixed an issue in which the camera angle would not return to normal after a Take-down.

-Altered settings so that enemies are not knocked back when hit by Rona with the Super-core "Dash" installed.

Bright Memory: Infinite - FYQD-Studio
Dear Users,
We are very excited to announce that Bright Memory: Infinite has been nominated for "Outstanding Visual Style" at the 2021 Steam Awards.



Thanks to the Unreal 4 Engine and Ray Tracing technologies, FYQD-Studio was able to recreate real-life locations in-game, such as the Wind and Rain Bridge from Guangxi and the Thousand-Household Miao Village in Guizhou. Not to mention the extremely detailed dark and stormy environment to suit the game's atmosphere.

Sword and Fairy 7 - HOMRA
1. Add a switch of damage display in Options.
2. Add display of effect of current cooking in Team Interface (It will take effect by cooking after update the game).
3. Fix the bug that Mo Nian cannot be attacked in the battle.
4. Fix the bug that Boss cannot move when teammates are executed in Puppet Mirror and Sword battle.
5. Holding instead of pressing the button to skip the story CG.
6. Add Trading cards and other community items of the game.
battleMETAL - Subject 9x
It's finally here, the 3.7.4 update.

Lampshaded a while back, this fairly large update adds new mechs to the player roster, some item reworks, and some nice fixes.

First up, metals.

Warden
Light mech and light mech hunter.
"MILITAR burned out their best hackers on black ICE breaking into a salvaged Federation data core. Amongst the encrypted modules was blueprints for a highly advanced light metal - the WARDEN."


Sporting 5 hardpoints, more armor for its weight class but less shields. The Warden keeps its weapons close to the chest, able to use its armor-panel arms for extra protection.

Sapper
Medium mech specialist and second-line support.
"SAPPER mechs were drafted and produced right before the Federation treaty was ratified. Off-world concerns asked for a strong second-line METAL to support other medium formations. What they got from the factories was dubbed the SAPPER based on its hardpoint configuration and shield output. "



8 hardpoints with half of them dedicated to module upgrades!

It has more shields than the Matok which gives it an uncanny ability to survive against focused fire. The module slots give the pilot a wide array of play style options even if the direct-fire weapons are some what limited.

Equipment Shakeup


A while back Missile Lock-on was reworked. Players were having trouble figuring the mechanics out, so lock-ons were made easier. Due to this, the Advanced Target Module lost one of its primary use-cases; and it really wasn't used much either. To that end, I replaced with the a new item, Advance Ballistic Reloader. The ABR decreases reload-time for medium and large projectile weapons by 20% and they can be stacked!

Ditto for the [i[Heatsinks[/i] which replace the Large Sensor Array, heatsinks decrease the energy cost of medium/large energy weapons by 20%.

Newgame+
Finally got around to making Newgame+ a thing. Upon completing the last mission of the main/extended campaign your save file will be flagged as Newgame+. It sets your saved map back to the first mission of the game but leaves everything you've unlocked in place!

Now you can rage through the campaign again with ALL the toys in the sandbox!

Fixes
  • AI mech weapons on destroyed components were still being shown.
  • Repair bay not updating HUD when destroyed weapons have been repaired.
  • issue where AI would move backwards forever and get stuck.
  • Weapon muzzle flash for players, they are now drawn where they should be on the mech.
  • O2M1 - enemy destroyed counters for all difficulties.
  • O1M4, O2M1 - pathfinding node graphs rebuilt.
  • issue with player shield regen and ctrl-key regen.

Balance
  • Electro-static Repeater wind-up time increased, spread increased.
  • Turbo charger now also buffs mech forward speed.
  • Quantum Rifle - minor increase to shard max random.
  • High-Strength Shield Emitters should be working as intended now.

Modding SDK work
Proud to say I did a major clean-up of the code base to make modding easier.
Mech, Vehicle, and Item data files are now easier to read and edit, cutting down on redundant function calls.

I also implemented a Mod-flags system for player mechs; this allows modders to quickly stand up mechs that act like they're from certain other mech games.
