Crusaders!

A new patch 1.1.6e is here! It contains some fixes for the crusade and skald rage powers, a fix for the boss fight in the free DLC, and some other mechanical fixes.

Known issues:
Descriptions of Displacement, Blur, and Protective Talismans in the crusade mode currently still contain errors - they actually reduce the incoming damage for a certain percentage instead of allowing to completely dodge the attack.

Beware of possible plot spoilers!

Quests

  • During the wedding game in Seelah's quest, Aivu could get stuck behind the barriers - fixed;
  • Even if players refused help from inquisition in Kenabres, sometimes Ramien still would ignore the invitation to Defender's Heart - fixed, but to make him join, you would need to load a save before you invited him to the tavern;
  • The combination of some Aeon decisions regarding Queen Galfrey's fate could lead to premature conclusion of epilogue slides - fixed.

Areas

  • In Ineluctable Prison, after Trickster's joke, it was possible to start a conversation with Vorimeraak again - fixed, now she has an appropriate bark.

Crusade

  • Blur had incorrect name and description - fixed;
  • Choice effects in Targona's dialogue (mythic Legend rank up) didn't give anything - fixed;
  • Contain the Enemy didn't work correctly - fixed;
  • Debilitating Poison didn't work correctly and didn't show as a global buff - fixed;
  • Elemental Protection now works according to its description;
  • Enemy Ash Giants wouldn't attack - fixed;
  • Fixed the categories for some event cards in the Crusade UI;
  • Generals didn't gain Abyssal Summon and Lesser Abyssal Summon spells in tactical combat - fixed;
  • Greater Abyssal Summon didn't work correctly - fixed;
  • In Russian localization there was in error in the text of Royal Council's Help event, claiming 1000 conscripts would join, however the right number was 100. After checking their register (and suppressing some riots), the Royal Council decided they can't afford to send 1000 conscripts,and will continue sending only 100 instead;
  • In the 5th chapter, the events of crusade related to Trickster Mythic Pass weren't playing - fixed;
  • Second choice effect in Locust Knight's dialogue (Swarm-That-Walks mythic path) didn't give additional HP to player's character - fixed;
  • Stunning Screech didn't work correctly - fixed;
  • The visual effect of Displacement is shown correctly now.

Classes & Mechanics

  • Dispel Magic, Greater (Target) spell now has a restriction: 1 successful dispel per 4 caster levels;
  • Dispel Synergy didn't work correctly - fixed;
  • Mental Prowess ability didn't work correctly - fixed, and now will properly work with wild talents;
  • Skald rage powers (Increased Damage Reduction, Celestial Totem, Powerful Stance, Celestial Totem, Lesser) weren't applied via Raging Song to either the Skald or to any party members affected by Raging Song - fixed;
  • Some units will be immune to the effects of Repurpose or Flay For Purpose, for the sake of cut-scenes they participate in;
  • We removed any mentions of the Rahadoum Faithless background, which was in beta, but didn't make it into the final version of the game.

Misс

  • A tutorial tip about empty spell slots before rest will appear more frequently now;
  • Fixed an issue which could lead to a looping cutscene before the final boss in Love Beyond Death DLC;
  • Fixed the colors of the druid class costume;
  • Fixed the issue with the material of cut-off body parts (during dismemberment).

We're back once again with another gem of an update! This time around we've made a huge number of quality of life changes that are sure to put the ale back in your tavern.

Take a look at the patch notes below:

Features:
⦿ Farming improvements!
  • Plants no longer need to be replanted. The farmer will always replant them after harvesting.
  • Crops gained by harvesting can now be maintained in the Cave Farm, by selecting 'Store <crop>'.
  • When a crop satisfies all maintain orders, it will no longer be harvested.
  • Harvesting of specific plants is now an actual job, done by Farmers. Farming was previously managed by an old AI system, so this should improve and optimize behavior.
  • Harvesting jobs inherits their priority from hauling priority set in Cave Farms.
  • Crops without maintain orders will always be harvested, just like before.
  • Tooltips on plants now show their growth stage information, and a note about maintaining them in Cave Farms.
  • Some plants now require additional resources, such as water, for some growth stages.
  • Store recipes in the Cave Farm now require Maintain Amount, and autoselling (see below) is not allowed.
⦿ Automatic Selling!
  • Crafting recipe entries can now be marked to automatically sell newly crafted items.
  • The items will be sold to whichever Overworld location pays the most.
  • Overworld locations will pay more for items yielding Fortification, Might, and Manpower, if they are in need of it.
  • Items are reevaluated from time to time to determine the best location.
  • You can specify a minimum Overworld Faction Opinion rating for items to be sold to.
  • Overworld Locations can now reach a Demand level of 4.
⦿ Achievements!
  • Hammerting now has achievements.
  • You will need to start a new game to earn them.
  • Architect, Candy Man, Drill Thrill, Exorcist, Old McDonald, A Dole of Dwarves, House in Session, Liquid Metal, Monster Mash, Railroad Magnate, Snow White, Spelunker Extraordinaire, Underworld Sun, Technological Ascendancy, Righteous Affluence, and World Conquest!
⦿ Dedicated Hauling and Dwarf Carts!
  • Carts have now been split into two distinct carts, one for dwarves (handcars), and one for hauling (carts).
  • When loading a save, carts will be upgraded to the new variants.
  • Carts can now perform refuel/repair jobs.
⦿ Overworld Location Upgrades!
  • Locations on the overworld can now be upgraded with a variety of dwarven establishments to strengthen and improve the location.
  • This allows for more control of the overworld and its progression.
  • Note that each location only has three upgrade slots, so choose carefully.
  • Dwarven Milestones explores nearby Overworld tiles. Exploration reward from sales have been reduced.
  • Dwarven Brewery, Dwarven Drills, Dwarven Fortress, Dwarven Guardhouse, Dwarven Guild House, Dwarven Inn, Dwarven Machine Shop, Dwarven Market Stalls, Dwarven Milestone, Dwarven Steam Mill, Dwarven Tannery, Dwarven Trading Post, Dwarven Tram System, and Dwarven Wall.
⦿ Smarter Teardown!
  • Dwarves will now try and teardown structures furthest from the entrance, if given a choice.
⦿ Lair Guards!
  • After the enemies stationed outside a lair have been defeated, the lair will eventually send out new groups of guards.
  • Guard groups get progressively more and stronger buffs, but also take longer and longer to spawn.
  • Destroy the lair to stop it from spawning guards.
Performance:
⦿ Added faster culling for in-world UI, decreased visible range for some in-world UI.
⦿ Graphics now inspects gamestate more seldom at higher speeds, increasing simulation speed.
⦿ Hauling update should now be faster.
⦿ Job Broker UI cache no longer updates if UI is closed.
⦿ Optimized 'desire' sensor, which is now a lot faster.
⦿ Optimized 'navgraph_system_find_query_id', which gives minor speed improvements in many places.

Tweaks:
⦿ Gameplay
  • Added technology "Tailoring & Garments".
  • Background tiles now take less effort to build.
  • Beekeeping now depends on Cooking. Brewing depends on Beekeeping.
  • Crabs drop more loot, ruby crabs spawn on underworld
  • Increased dwarves' range for placing foreground and background blocks.
  • More general creature spawning in the cave.
  • Overworld factions now have initially varying opinions of each other.
  • Reduced the Preciousness of Granite Chunks and Granite Blocks.
  • Skulker's Armor now yields a movement speed bonus of 30% instead of 3%, and Militia Armor -10% instead of -20%.
  • Support Beams and Granite Pillars now restore Fortification.
⦿ UI & Graphics
  • Added a platform for the hand pump, so it's now stuck to the wall
  • Added a wedge beneath the Drain Sink model
  • Added alerts and dwarf icons for hunger.
  • Added better tooltip for 'Sow' command, showing if they depend on a fluid to grow, and how much
  • Added recipe categories to craft rooms.
  • Drill volume is now lower.
  • Fixde one coupel of tyspo.
  • More links to The Book of Tings added, and tweaked and added various texts.
  • The job broker UI will now show skill levels even for jobs where the dwarf is missing a required tool.
  • Tweaked the Overworld graphics to be a bit easier on the eyes.
Bug fixes:
⦿ AI
  • Claiming the last item of a kind as input should no longer block crafting queues, if other inputs can be found
  • Dwarves are no longer unassigned from a job just before becoming assigned to it.
  • Dwarves who end up on a cliff while falling asleep will now fall off it.
  • Dwarves will no longer occasionally craft items using professions that are disallowed.
  • Fixed an issue where dwarves would go idle if holding a Hammerting and the Great Hall couldn't be reached.
  • Mushroom stew should no longer get stuck even when you have plenty of mushrooms.
  • Shroomfolk can now jump and climb.
⦿ Gameplay
  • Biomes near the entrance should now always be level 1, never level 2, thereby not producing enemies that are way too hard early on.
  • Destroyed vaults will now transfer coin to other vaults
  • Fixed a bug by which the mission 'Dwarven Subversion' would fail to accept licorice as intended.
  • Fixed a bug where dwarves could lose the influence from the Mountain Home, which made some Hammerting choices ineffective
  • Goat Cheese is now technically Food.
  • Missions no longer occasionally get reset when loading a game
  • Teardown command no longer generates multi-select indicator
  • Teardown command now works on plants
⦿ UI
  • Fixed an issue with multiplayer overlay UI.
  • Fixed misaligned buttons in main menu
  • Fixed modifiers not being shown for tools and equipment when clicking a toolbelt- or equipment-slot in the dwarf UI.

Hello, pawsome!

All of the kitties in the Cat Kingdom are preparing for Catmas! So far, they've managed to decorate the Catmas tree and then accidentally push it over, some of them fell in the snow, while others somehow managed to catch fleas!

Through all of these shenanigans, the catizens still managed to find some festive clothing for the big day and wrap lovely gifts for each other.

Speaking of gifts, we have something special for you.

It's the Catizens Christmas Demo! This free adventure is available for a limited time and is the perfect way to spend your evenings next to the fire.

If the game loads unusually slowly or if some scenes are choppy, the culprit may be the shader cache* generated by the GPU driver.
Clearing the cache may resolve this issue. If not, try disabling the shader cache.

*The shader cache is operated by the GPU driver, so it cannot be controlled from within programs, such as Sen no Kiseki IV.
You will need to clear and/or configure the following settings specific to your hardware.

■NVIDIA GPUs (GeForce, etc.)
The shader cache is stored in the following folder:
C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache
Please delete the files in this folder.

To disable the shader cache, right-click on the Windows desktop, open the NVIDIA Control Panel, and under Manage 3D Settings, turn Shader Cache to Off.

■AMD GPUs (Radeon, etc.)
You can delete or disable the shader cache by right-clicking on the Windows desktop and selecting AMD Radeon Software.
To delete the shader cache, refer to Reset Shader Cache on the following page:

The Guild 3 - Scandal
Hello everyone,

Christmas is approaching and the year is finally drawing to a close. The last 2 weeks have been hectic for us, not only because - as usual ;-) - most of us bought their Christmas presents at the last minute, but also because we first released patch EA 0.9.16 and then immediately started working on patch EA 0.9.16.5. We had done massive reworkings of the game's core systems to include the interiors for the residences, so we assumed we would get a huge number of crashes or other blockers reported. Fortunately, that was not the case. So we decided at short notice to finish a new map planned for next year and to include it into the patch as a small Christmas present for you. We hope that you like the Cologne map, even though it still has a few rough edges that we won't be filing away until the next patch.

We can't emphasize enough how grateful we are for your patience and support with the Early Access of The Guild 3. We would like to thank you once again for finding and reproducing bugs that we missed during the final test runs before each patch. You are really great! Without you, the community, we would not be where we are now: implementing the interiors for residences, churches, arsenal and town hall and finalizing the work animations in the exterior areas of the business buildings! Thank you!

Btw. our internal QA asked me to please include the following plea in this DevDiary: please include your email address when you open a bug ticket in our Redmine bugtracker. We do not have the time to contact everyone but sometimes, in particular when we have troubles reproducing something or we just would like to give you an answer on how to solve your problem, this would be useful - in the latter case also for you ;-) Thanks!

The new year begins for us with the implementation of the interiors for the village church and the city churches. We want you to be able to enter the interiors just like your residence. There will also be objects in the churches that you or your characters can interact with, such as the baptismal font or the donation box. There will be a priest with whom you will also be able to interact. He should then also lead the wedding ceremony if you decide to tie the knot for life :-) In addition, NPCs should now and then sit on the benches in the church to pray.
And we of course continue to hunt bugs and balance the game.

In the new year, we will be able to tell you more about the churches and the other planned interiors.

We will now go on the Christmas vacation and gather new strength for the year 2022.
