The Last Stand: Aftermath - Jarkyttaa
Hey all!

We're excited to get one last update out to all of you ahead of the end of year festivities. We've been hard at work putting together a huge collection of changes and fixes based on your feedback. We want to thank our community both for the incredible support you've shown us and the game this whole year as well as for the fantastic feedback and bug reports you've been sending our way.

We're also excited to announce that patch 1.01 has been approved for PlayStation 4 and 5 and will be rolled out shortly! Most notably, this includes the fix for missing save data. Please don't hesitate to send us reports if you update the game and have any issues with your save data going forward. We appreciate your patience as we navigate the extra complexities of patching console versions. The Xbox Series patch has not yet been approved, but we aim to get it out as soon as we can.

Patch 1.02 Notes (Steam):

Notes:
- Due to time constraints, temporary localization has been used for the new HOLD/TOGGLE options for some actions. We apologise for this, and it will be rectified in a future patch.

Additions:
- Keyboard & Mouse: Aiming can now be set to HOLD or TOGGLE via the Keyboard settings menu.
- Keyboard & Mouse: Sprint can now be set to HOLD or TOGGLE via the Keyboard settings menu.
- Controllers: Focus can now be set to HOLD or TOGGLE via the Controller settings menu.
- Controllers: Sprint can now be set to HOLD or TOGGLE via the Controller settings menu.

Changes:
- General: The game now runs in the background during loading screens by default, to ensure loading completes even if the game window is not focused. The game can be forced to always run in the background by launching with the -runInBackground command line argument.
- Gameplay: Crouching/stealthing too close to Infected will be much more likely to trigger their aggressive state
- Gameplay: You can now tap the vault/climb action whenever the prompt is visible to vault over an obstacle, even if standing still.
- Gameplay: You can no longer interact with objects and reload your weapon at the same time.
- Gameplay: Improvements to Infected spawn position selection to avoid overlaps/intersections with the environment and each other.
- Gameplay: The Charger Infected's stomp attack will no longer hit the player through walls and other large obstacles.
- Gameplay: Interacting with closed doors now has a higher priority than looting Infected corpses, making corpse interactions much less likely to block access to doors.
- Gameplay: "Burning" status effect now applies 100% more damage. Small spot fires in Hell apply a lower burning status effect that does less damage.
- Gameplay: M82A1 damage increased by 100%: 500, up from 250.
- Gameplay: Improved items for all existing Loadouts that are purchasable through Supply Depot.
- Gameplay: Reduced cost of purchasing loadouts through Supply Depot.
- Gameplay: Increased weight of Gear Axe.
- Gameplay: More traps will react to external explosives / damage.
- Optimization: Reduced number of particles in fires in Hell sector.
- Optimisation: Weapon bullet shell ejection visuals are now more efficient overall.
- UI: The Map screen now displays partial routes in yellow to reinforce travel ability. Partial routes occur when you have at least one unit of fuel, but less than the required to reach a selected location.
- UI: The power generator minigame UI will only fill the bar to the top on the final successful input.
- UI: The power generator minigame UI now displays an Exit prompt.

Fixes:
- Achievement: "A Bridge Over Troubled Waters": This achievement now triggers when activating the bridge lowering switch. For those who missed this achievement due to dying before leaving the area, it will trigger the next time you enter Hell.
- Achievement: "This is The End": This achievement now triggers only when completing the correct number of runs on a single save slot, rather than an aggregate of all save slots.
- Gamepads: Fixed an issue where the vibration enabled setting was not saved between sessions.
- Gamepads: Fixed controllers sometimes continuing to vibrate when the inventory or pause menu is opened.
- Gameplay: Destroyed doors will no longer continue to block Infected navigation paths.
- Gameplay: Fixed an issue where purchasing a new permanent Armory item would replenish all permanent Armory items instead of only the purchased item.
- Gameplay: Fixed a rare crash that could occur in while an Infected horde is in progress.
- Gameplay: Fixed a rare issue on the travel map that would not allow you to visit a location that was clearly on a valid travel route.
- Gameplay: Fixed heal-over-time effects from consumables not restoring the expected amount of health.
- Gameplay: Melee executions should be much less likely to pull the player into out-of-bounds areas.
- Gameplay: Fixed an issue where some hardships would not be applied when reloading a previously saved game.
- Gameplay: Hardships will now correctly reset to rank zero when "Reset" is pressed.
- Gameplay: Flaming skeletal Infected are now lootable after exploding and will no longer block doorways.

Patch 1.01 Notes (Console):

Changes
• Tripwire based traps now have a thicker, more visible wire. All traps now show an outline when occluded by the enviornment.
• M82A1 Drop is no longer purchasable with Supply (it can only be purchased with Reputation)
• Reduced volume of crickets during the night
• Reduced atmospheric volumetric lighting strength to improve visibility in most time/weather combinations
• Reduced intensity of lightning effects. It should also be slightly more efficient to render.
• Inventory will now display upgraded weapon and item stats, rather than just the base stats. This includes bonuses and penalties from attachments, knowledge upgrades, etc.

Updated: Mining drones will launch with the most recent drone launch state set using a new button on the drone manager window.

Fixed: Drone retrieve button is now hidden if a drone is not in a state where it can be retrieved.
Fixed: A fix for dedicated hacking, craft, salvage and repair crew members that are removed from the party and/or no longer have active hacking devices equipped. The dedicated crew flag gets reset and the currently selected crew member initiates the hack (if they have a hacking device), repair, crafting etc. Thanks for reporting the issue.
Fixed: Humanoid NPC's were rarely if ever throwing grenades. Skull NPC's have a higher chance of having grenade inventory. The chance of a NPC throwing a grenade is based on the games difficulty level set in the options menu.
Fixed: A rare lockup related to attacks of opportunity.
FIXED: A lockup when selecting a friendly planetary starbase on a planet that is out of range - approaching and selecting the landing icon. Previously, a second selection was required when in range.
FIXED: Ship icons on screen are now cleared when loading a quicksave or autosave to a ground location from space.

To the Crown Mages,

Since last week we've been pushing out several updates as we continue to work on bug fixes and improvements to the game. Over this time we've resolved a significant amount of bugs related to the menus, story mode, progression, and overall game functionality. We can't thank our players enough for discussing these issues and helping us discover the causes.

As a part of this update progression, has been fixed as Monera should be given to players upon levelling up. To repay the lost rewards to players who didn't receive their level up rewards during this time, as well as thank everyone for playing the game while we get things in order, we will be increasing the Daily Reward to 250 Monera for the next 14 days.

Additionally, several issues relating to the game when played in Traditional and Simplified Chinese have been resolved. While some issues still persist, we hope our players in these languages will find the game much better than launch day.

From here on out, we'll be working on improving the stability of multiplayer. We hear you loud and clear about requested balance fixes, and we'll be looking out for small tweaks we can make — but our priority right now is to ensure a smooth gameplay experience.

  • The Hero summon animation upon signing up now displays the correct artwork.
  • When redeeming Hero Pack I and Hero Pack II as a part of the Game Pass, they will now correctly unlock immediately instead of requiring the game to be restarted.
  • Players now receive EXP correctly upon the completion of Conquest Trials. This means EXP will scale as intended like Monera and Reward Points do.

  • The Victory Screen will now display when you have reached your Monera and Reward Points caps for the day.
  • The Story Mode chapter menu will now show a "NEW!" tag when a chapter has uncompleted sub-chapters.
  • The Story Mode chapter menu will now show you when you can unlock new Topics in the Interlude.
  • The Story Mode chapter menu will now automatically open to the last chapter you saved a bookmark in or completed.
  • Added a notice to the Shop button on the Main Menu when you have yet to bind your account, or unlock Hero Pack I and Hero Pack II as a part of your Game Pass.
Story Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where pauses in story scripting could last 10x longer than intended depending on the locale setting of your computer.
  • Fixed various typos in Story Mode.
  • Fixed an issue where deleting a save slot would delete all save slots instead of just the one you selected.
  • Fixed a check in the sub-chapter "Mage Corps" which would lead to an incorrect scene.
  • Fixed a check in the sub-chapter "Salaraius Magicus" which would lead to an incorrect scene.
  • Fixed a check in the sub-chapter "To Ashes" which would lead to an incorrect scene.
  • Fixed an incorrect sprite in the sub-chapter "The Devil's Son".
  • Fixed an incorrect sprite in the sub-chapter "Spicae".
  • Fixed visible pixels in the transparent areas across Volesus' and Zermes' sprite sets.
  • The logic behind loading of sprites in Story Mode is now threaded, meaning sprite animations can no longer interfere with sprites appearing and disappearing.
Traditional & Simplified Chinese Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where the English font would always be loaded on boot— leading all text to be displayed in squares until the language was changed in the settings.
  • Fixed an issue where the Rematch and Leave buttons were not translated.
  • Fixed an issue where the Store would always display in English.
  • Fixed an issue when the chapter "City of Peace" was not accessible.
  • Some decisions would not display all options correctly in Story Mode.
  • The Hero Card description of Caelius has been corrected.
  • The Hero Card description of Zermes has been corrected.
  • The Hero Card description of Makari-Hari has been corrected.
  • Herclaus now displays the correct amount of Energy taken in Conquest and Takeover Trials.
  • Updated the Chinese font files to cover more missing text in Story Mode. (Please report screenshots of any remaining missing text in our Discord.)
  • A decision in "Journey to Irinipolis - Part II" would display the opposite text to the decision you made.
  • Fixed an issue where miss-matched English characters were used in the Chinese font.
