Hello everyone, and welcome to the Weekly Dev Log for December 13th, 2021, detailing all the changes that have happened since December 6th, 2021. Note: Devs that don't appear in the weekly log are not necessarily away or not doing work, but may be working on things currently not announced or backend work that doesn't need to be detailed.

December 2021 Condo Contest IN PROGRESS!
The theme this time, just like last year, is Winter and/or Winter Festivity!

As always, feel free to interpret that how you see fit, as long as the connection to the theme is clear. Desolate snowy landscapes, snowed-in cabins, winter wonderlands, Christmas villages- anything wintery can work, so have fun with it!

The deadline to submit your entries is January 2nd, 2022 at 11:59PM CT.

Johanna continued working on future Plaza updates, getting the new store interior finished and working on signage.

Wheezwer continued working on concept art for the Celebrations NPC, as well as working on concept art for signage.

macdguy added commenting to more Canvas items, and fixed some issues with the holiday lights.

Ok, as much as we love the blazing sun, the scenery behind the window is slightly different.

Well, after much fiddling, the Demo is ready for action! You can now play it to get a general feel for what the revamp looks like!
Swords of Time - Bane2Barrels
Added a female main char model.
You can now choose 2 models when creating a character

Zooming and camera circling has been added to the character menu (Uses the mouse wheel).
Added automatic movement, bending to long hair when the character is moved.

Added zoom in game (Uses the mouse wheel). Distance from the camera and raycast triggering is scaled.

Added shrines to the game that give powerful buffs to all nearby friendly units.
More powerful shrines with a well around give different and stronger buffs.
These shrines will be mainly located in safe areas and can be useed before venturing out.

Added a new quest system, the hunter guild.
Complete quests for the hunter guild to receive special currency and experience for the hunter guild.
More quest become available afte completing enough quests for the hunter guild.
You can buy special equipment from the hunter guild for a more steady and selective equipment progress.

Added retaliation damage stats. These can usually be found on armor and shield.
There is a stat for melee and ranged retaliation.
Some skills are counting as both, melee as well as ranged,
in that case the retaliation damage is used for melee and ranged and the divided by 2.

Added a random hunting board quest system. Hunting mobs might yield a random quest with a range of rewards.
The amount of units you have to hunt during the received quests increases with the reward quality.

Added repeated auto attackes when the left mouse button is held. No more clicking for each attack.

Added some more effects for skills.
Added more skill information in the skill/class view.
Buff and debuff information is now shown more properly.

Added an additional event system for events that do not prevent you from playing. These events cannot be skipped.
Added skeleton boss mini event that occurs before the start of the fight.

Added a message system for multiplayer that generates a speach box on top of you char
and also displays the message in the message log with the character name.

Added boss doors that prevent you from escaping, these trigger with the start of a boss fight.
If you fail to beat the boss these doors are removed and the boss reset.
The doors open when the boss is defeated.

Added various tooltip/help information to menus.

Changed quest map icons for nscs.

Added several mini bosses on the map with a chance for special loot.

Added a mail system. Nscs can send you mail and you receive mail depending on the year, season and day.
Usually some small gift is added to mails.

Several area changes and additions.

Balancing:
Increased damage and reduced cast time of early caster skills (fireball, waterball, spark).
Increased enemy mob hp and summon hp.

Removed channeling in the air for spark.

Bug fixes
The button start game was clickable multiple times (this resulted in no issues)

Fixed a bug that occurred when dragging items from the inventory into the shortcutbar
leaving a too large icon on the screen
Fixed quests not shown as completed

Buffs should now fade in and out when only a short time (< 15 seconds) remains.

After concerns raised by user Azzul, I can't seem to find the "Demo" Button on the Store Page. I've uploaded it to Steam and it says that it's been uploaded, but for some reason, it's just not showing up. If this isn't just a problem on my end, then it may mean that you can't play the Demo until the Full Game is released. Which is dumb.

  • Adjusted forging potential of new items
    • +3 minimum forging potential for normal items.
    • +2 minimum forging potential for magic items.
    • +2 maximum forging potential for normal items.
    • +3 to 4 minimum forging potential for rare items based on level.
    • Reduced the maximum forging potential cost of adding a second affix to 14 (from 15).
    • Reduced the maximum forging potential cost of adding a third or fourth affix to 18 (from 20).
  • Controller Keybinds
    • Left D-Pad now triggers the dungeon ability.
    • Right D-Pad press is still bound to portal usage, but a long press will now toggle ground items.
    • A controller binding reset should be enforced automatically. If the actionbar doesn’t change, try resetting keybinds.
  • Julra's beams are destroyed or don't spawn if you kill her while they are active or spawning.
  • Reduced Festering Cultist damage by 8%.
  • Roots of Vithrasil no longer drops. There are some bugs with it so it was planned to be held off for now.
  • The door in The Shining Cove now also opens if you have waypoint in The Oracle's Refuge or are at least level 53.

Bug Fixes
  • Likely fixed a rare bug that caused the game window to be a solid white background with some user interface on top when loading a character. If you’re still having this problem, please make a bug report with your log file.
  • Fixed a bug where logging out or dying after killing the boss in the Dreadnought’s Deck or Morditas’ Tomb could prevent further game progression.
  • Fixed a bug where using Ice Thorns’ Cold Prison node with an active minion could crash the game.
  • Fixed a bug with Spriggan Form's Vale Spirits which could cause several other bugs such as extreme movement speed.
  • Fixed being able to use skill tree nodes to change into transforms you had not unlocked.
  • Fixed a bug where transform-specifc skills could be put on the actionbar while in human form.
  • Fixed a bug where Maul's cooldown could not be reset by Fury Leap's Aspect of the Mantis when you have Werebear Form's Skull Crusher node.
  • Fixed a bug where Spriggan Form's Garden of Rage restored mana while in human form.
  • Fixed a bug where Maul using Upheaval could cost more rage than intended if you had increased Upheaval's mana cost with nodes such as Excavating Blow.
  • Fixed a bug where Drain Life still had a minimum mana cost of 1 after you took the Blood Magic node to change its mana cost to a health drain.
  • Fixed a bug where opening the Appearance window via the button in the Inventory window would not load your list of pets. Opening the window directly via the K key worked correctly.
  • Fixed armor models having stretching issues in the character select screen on some graphics settings.
  • Fixed a bug where Exalted items had less forging potential than intended.
  • Fixed a bug where no error would be shown if a character name contained a restricted word.
  • Changed Polearms to Spears in text descriptions for the Monolith of Fate.
  • Fixed Death's Embrace lacking its intended lore text.
Dungeon Overseer - Ripknot
Hello Everyone!

When Dungeon Overseer first started the goal was to make something fun for everyone to enjoy. Some missteps in launch tags and some multi-language support issues have lead it down a road that isn't where we thought it would be. Rather than slowly lowering price over time we really just want to open up access for the game to be enjoyed by the community. With this at heart we have decided to make Dungeon Overseer and all content it contains free as of 12/20/21. We appreciate the support as we've gone through early access thus far and hope you in turn have enjoyed your experience.
