Hey! I'm Leo Fernández Infante, from Retro Forge team.



My role in the team is mainly programming. As working in a small team, we usually touch a bit of everything, but I would say my main tasks have been Gameplay and Enemy Programming, as well as some Production here and there.

Despite we are already industry veterans, Souldiers, our first title as an independent studio, is a very challenging project from many points of view.

It's so rewarding to see how things fit together as we keep crafting our little game... Releasing it and watching people enjoy playing it as much as I've enjoyed developing it is a childhood dream come true.


FAVORITE CHARACTER?

Personally, it's hard for me to choose a single preferred class because they are so different from each other, but I would say the Scout's balanced attack vs defense skills would fit best with my style of play!

It’s been a long time since we’ve released any update regarding Hairdresser Simulator. Many of you can’t wait to see new updates, so we're here to deliver you fresh news from our hairdressing salon.

First things first, we’re still developing a Hairdresser Simulator, so there is nothing to worry about. Our team has already gained momentum, and we are doing our best to provide you with new screenshots, trailers, or gifs as soon as possible. Actually, we have one for you, so you can check it below:



In Hairdresser Simulator, you will be able to customize your hairdressing salon completely, but first, you have to prove that you are one of the best (if not the best) existing hairdressers on the market. To do that, you need to start from the very beginning, but that doesn’t mean you can’t aim higher. Constantly improve your skills, follow current trends, and expand your brand further to encourage your old and new customers to visit your salon.

You also need to remember about self-development, as this will help you claim the top spot in the hairdressing industry. Attend classes, look for new courses and training, and test your skills in the final exam, to expand your wide range of skills. Last but not least, make sure you’re well-equipped because you never know what the future will bring.

Hey Spiritfarers, it's finally here!

The Jackie & Daria Update is out today, and with it, an announcement! 👀

Last year, I shared a roadmap of our plans for 2021 and, now that the third and final update is available, we'll officially be sailing away from Spiritfarer... so join me in welcoming Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition.

In the spirit of the game, we decided to celebrate this departure from the project by re-releasing it under a new and, most of allcomplete Edition.

Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition is a free update for the base game that contains all previous content updates as well as our last: the Jackie & Daria Update!

Jackie, the Hyena & Daria, the Bat

Meet Jackie & Daria, the two new spirits joining Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition.

Jackie the Hyena is a fun, albeit vulgar, caretaker of the Overbrook health institute, a broken down hospital.

Daria the Bat, on the other hand, is one of his most notable patient, due to her being prone to very erratic behaviors.

Content Update

The Jackie & Daria Update is the biggest update we've released, with two additional spirits, a new island and a brand new event to experience!

After uncovering the Mist near Oxbury, you'll receive a letter from Jackie asking for help at Overbrook. You'll be working towards improving the living condition of the patients by using a mystical Vending Machine, then going on a musical journey in Daria's subconscious through her Mind Palace.

Hey Folks!

Ostranauts v0.7.0.4 is now available on Steam, and your clients should be updating shortly.

This patch changes the way save files are structured to make them multi-file, and should help users who regularly experienced save failure issues.

Saves from 0.7.0.3 should work, but due to the change in save file structure, all backup saves will be deleted when the new save is created. So if you have precious info there, you should make a copy of those before saving again.


  • Changed the way save game files are structured, to be multiple json files instead of a single, large json file.

The only change in this patch is to the file structure of save games. Instead of a giant (often approaching 100MB) json file, it is now a series of smaller json files in a folder matching the captain's name.

The main benefit of this change is to reduce the frequency of save failures some players were seeing. I.e. clicking "Save" stops working after a while, usually in cases where the save file was getting very large

Users who previously experienced this bug have so far reported that saves work normally again, so hopefully this solves the issue for you, if you had it!

The multi-file save format might also make searching through the save jsons a bit easier, for those of you interested in modding/editing your saves.

Also note that, for now, the game will load both the old and new save formats as we make the transition. Eventually, we'll phase out the old format and it will only read the new multi-file save structure.

As always, there's plenty more for us to fix, change, and add! And we'll be continuing in roughly that order. In the meantime, let us know if this patch helps you out, as well as if it reveals new problems!

Notes
VFX particles currently render through fog, creating odd depth issues depending on the viewing angle and weather conditions. As this is an issue relating to the engine, we do not have an ETA for a fix, though placing solid objects behind particles (e.g. rocks) can help to alleviate depth problems.
