Mictlan: An Ancient Mythical Tale - Anna_Somniar
Greetings, community!

The project progresses with good rhythm, and today we want to show you some updates about our Mesoamerican warriors!

In this concept art, created by our very talented designers and illustrators, you can appreciate some pieces of clothing worn by the Mesoamerican people in the lake zone of Texcoco.

What you see is the ichcahuipilli (cotton armor), used in pre-Hispanic times and the early colonies. Some other pieces are characterized by animal patterns, such as the jaguar pattern, characteristic of the Mesoamerican cosmovision.

Hey, I fixed a bunch of bugs and made things run faster. 🏃‍♀️💨

Updates:

12/04/2021
  • Optimized delete all selected blocks logic.
  • Added additional verification for adding a resident to a position so that when quickly placing lots of props or characters in multiplayer, the system doesn't incorrectly overlap objects.
  • Added a VSync toggle to the settings panel.
  • Deactivated the now deprecated Road element. If a map already is using the Road element, it should still be displayed.
  • Improved object pooling for characters and props.
  • Improved render performance while many objects are selected.
  • Significantly improved performance of character and prop interactions when working with large sets of objects.
  • Fixed a visual bug where a texture was not correctly mapped to the unit aura material.
  • Fixed a network issue where the position offset of plants and rocks was not serialized correctly and caused errors.
  • Fixed a bug where the default player permission could not be set to GM.
  • Fixed a bug where the session host was not marked correctly as the session host.
  • Fixed a bug with Steam offline mode that interfered with playing offline.
  • Fixed a bug where the user id of a player was not set correctly on initialization, causing issues with multiplayer games.
  • Fixed a bug where rotating the camera while hosting a session and camera lock on would not update the camera view of other players.
  • Fixed a bug where a player would not be assigned the correct permissions upon joining a session.

  • Added a workaround to a Unity input bug (new input system) where holding a key combo (like Alt-Tab) to switch window focus would keep the key pressed until it was released and pressed again upon refocusing Battle Map Studio. I had added a workaround before that would force the key to be released, but apparently that wasn't strong enough so the keyboard is now fully reset on window focus if any common sticky keys (like Alt) are held when the window is focused. Unity says bug fix is in review, so fingers crossed that it will be fixed soon!
  • Randomize scale toggle is no longer visible while painting with soil.
  • Added a randomize soil blend toggle when painting with soil.
  • Randomize styles setting now works when painting.
  • Creating blocks from any action will now consider random soil settings (style and blend) when initializing new blocks.
  • Added tooltips for various action tools.
  • Renamed Erase All to Erase Gaia, since it only removes the plants and rocks from blocks and not characters.
  • Added a new Erase All paint tool for removing all gaia and character/prop elements from a block.
  • Fixed a bug where updating tile type in multiplayer mode would not send a valid message to clients to display the tile type change.

Our forecasting radar has detected prolonged, severe magnetic activity in select sectors of space. Keres seems to be behind it, but the charged particles interfere with our predictive instruments. Tread lightly as your instruments will likely be affected as well. Grab the Optio hull to use Liberatus tech against them, disrupting opposing systems in battle.

[ION STORM] WARNING: A large magnetic storm is brewing. The magnetically charged sectors feature Liberatus targets dropping plans for the Optio hull. Brave the high energy particles to earn the Lustre Cannon III and Ilos Missile III. Forecasting is predicting the storm on Thursday, December 9th at 3pm PDT.

[Mobilization] Liberatus Ameliorate targets hold the pieces you need to upgrade your Spectre Optio II-IV. Don’t forget the Hacksaw Vulcan Turret III fragments are waiting for you in the Hone targets! It starts Thursday, December 16th, at 3pm PDT.

[Decimation]  Shut down the top Ameliorate to collect the pieces to complete your Spectre Optio Elite! The new Hiberna targets will grant the previously unavailable Spectre Boosed Dissipators Type C. All in Decimation starting  December 29th, at 3pm PDT.



[Solstice] Once again, we will reenact the Norwalien's narrow escape from a collision with a Red Giant. Join in the Snowball Fight Thursday December 23rd, at 3pm PDT.






[OPTIO] A Debuffer designated hull is adept at spreading various status effects amongst enemies opening them up for more damage. A Debuffer features stronger defenses at the cost of offensive prowess. Debilitate and Shield Disruption

[LUSTRE CANNON] A new Energy weapon has been developed to aid the Optio in combating spawned hulls and other enemies in close proximity. The Lustre Cannon uses ricochet projectiles to damage and debuff multiple enemies.

[ILIOS MISSILE] The Ilios Missile uses a single, guided missile to deal lots of damage in a large area. The Ilios was developed as an offensive option for tier 10 Carriers, and can only be equipped to these hulls.






  • Free Fleet repair exploit removed

  • Visual of Warbird is no longer missing in Combat

  • A9 resistance has been changed to 30% to prevent fleets being indestructible

Hi everyone.

The new Map Editor has been added to Mission Editor section.
Is now possible to create maps of the same quality and performance as the default ones, and to share them in the Steam workshop. The new system includes tools to edit terrain shape, textures, add grass, holes and much more using simple brush tools.
With the new Map Editor also maps are not tied to missions anymore: You can now create a map and then create several different missions on them.



I'm really hyped to see what you can develop using the new tool!

Here's the general changelogs:

New features:
  • Added new Map Editor.
  • Many changes in lighting, day night cycle and post processing.
  • Added dynamic Depth of Field when aiming.
  • Vehicles can now be set as locked from Mission Editor.
  • Added custom Squad Editor.
  • Added blood splash decals.

Fixes:
  • Improvements in wheeled vehicles.
  • Improvements in trees.
  • Improvements in weapons.
  • Improvements on HE projectiles and explosions.
  • Many other fixes and small addition.

Map Editor was the last important update for the game before the 1.0 release which will happen hopefully around Christmas.
We are still in time to add some more features and fix some more bugs for the release, so let me know what are the most urgent according to you.
Keep in mind that the release of the 1.0 doesn't mean that the game will not get any more update! There are still many more features that can be added for free while I'll finally work on the new Stalingrad DLC. (By the way, I'm searching for an help for map making for Stalingrad using the new Map Editor, if you are interested, please contact me on the Discord Server).

The reason behind the upcoming 1.0 release is that the contents that were originally planned for the game are finally complete; In fact, the game already feature much more contents then the originally planned ones, and that is thanks to all the feedbacks and suggestions I received, so thank you a lot to everyone who supported the game reporting feedbacks and ideas <3.
