Metin2 - [CM]MaxRojale
The year is slowly drawing to a close, but there'll be no calm, silent nights - at least not in Metin2! Because we're presenting - Daredevil December - where you can tear into action-packed events and scoop up a ton of hot loot!

Christmas Events
Someone stole Santa's stockings. He was actually planning on hiding his presents inside them. Help him to find as many of them as possible! Help save Christmas and be richly rewarded in the process:

Stand in awe of the colourfully decorated Christmas tree, bigger and more beautiful than ever before, as it casts its festive splendour on the market place.

Event starts: 1st December 2021 at midnight (CET)
Event ends: 7th January 2022 at 11:59 PM (CET)

Festive Okey Event
In early December we'll also be bringing out the popular okey card game in the extended Christmas edition. Hunt down monsters, loot their okey cards and put together a winning set!

Event starts: 1st December 2021 at midnight (CET)
Drops end: 21st December 2021 at 11:59 PM (CET)
Event ends: 22nd December 2021 at 11:59 PM (CET)

Metin Fever
Caution, Metin Fever is on the rise! There will be 3 peaks this month with each Fever event landing on an Advent Sunday. Destroy the Metin stones and face off against menacing bosses - Beran-Setaou, Jotun Thrym, Mysterious Monk and many other enemies are carriers of hefty loot!

Event Duration:
5th December 2021 from midnight until 11:59 PM (CET)
12th December 2021 from midnight until 11:59 PM (CET)
19th December 2021 from midnight until 11:59 PM (CET)

Destroy 5 Metin stones in your level range (from level 30) and receive 1 Challenge Scroll daily. With this scroll you can summon a special Metin stone which you must destroy to face an especially difficult opponent.

Once you have defeated the boss, grab their treasure and, with a little luck, another Metin stone will appear which can call an even stronger enemy to the scene. If you also defeat this one, you'll find out how virulent Metin Fever can be: there is a chance of progressively more devastating opponents coming your way, and it will test all your skills to defeat them. Of course the rewards will be great!

Tip: Luck is on your side on the continent of Yohara - the probability of even more dangerous bosses appearing is much higher in Yohara.

Prehistoric Kingdom - Blue Meridian

Welcome to November’s Development Update!

In today’s post, we’ll be discussing some of Beta’s day one content and how to access it. Prehistoric Kingdom’s Closed Beta will be arriving on December 6th with an expected launch time of 1PM PST.

  • If you are an eligible backer or early adopter who does not yet have Prehistoric Kingdom in their Steam library, please make a Crytivo account with the EXACT email you used to back the game on Kickstarter. You will be given a Steam key on December 6th.
  • If you already own Prehistoric Kingdom in your Steam library, the game will automatically update to Beta on December 6th.

Animals

  • 14 Animals
Archaeopteryx, Camarasaurus, Deinocheirus, Edmontosaurus, Lambeosaurus, Microraptor, Nasutoceratops, Pachyrhinosaurus, Protoceratops, Parasaurolophus, Torvosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Styracosaurus and the Woolly Mammoth.

  • Basic Needs
Animals need to eat and drink! Provide them with feeders and water sources to stop them from going extinct. Again.

  • New Pathfinding & Animations
Animals now turn dynamically as part of their wandering behaviour, introducing noise and variation to their walking patterns.

A handful of animals such as the Tyrannosaurus also have new additive and idle behaviours like scratching, sniffing and many more. These behaviours will be given to other animals over time to expand their liveliness.

Creative
  • Modular System Rewrite
The modular system has been completely rewritten from the ground up with efficient render optimizations and feature flexibility in mind.

Our previous iteration could not support the full scope of our planned additions, especially when concerning prefabs and performance. Though modular performance on day one may not feel that different from alpha, it’s far more scalable in the long term.

  • Modules
Modules are new modular pieces that provide function and utility within the park. These can include guest kiosks, dynamic animal statues, animal nurseries, power generators and more.

With 10 Modules available in Beta, fully custom and interactive buildings are now a reality for Prehistoric Kingdom.

  • Modular Prefabs
Build and create modular prefabs for easy use in your park and other saves! Share with your friends by uploading your builds online (Steam Workshop support coming later).

Official prefabs are also available for those who are less creatively-inclined. We’ll be expanding and improving official prefabs as more pieces are added to the game.

  • Modular Styling Improvements
Styling has been reworked for better use and reliability. Contextually swap themes, materials and mesh variants at the click of a button!

  • Modular Recoloring
Show your inner artist with modular recoloring! A staggering amount of items are recolorable, with many including multiple masks and patterns. The world is truly your canvas.

  • Modular Point Snapping
Place pieces on or within modular grid corners with the new point snap utility. Perfect for railings, pillars, beams and more. We think a lot of builders will take a quick liking to this feature!

  • Modular Foliage Painting
Thanks to community feedback, the foliage brush has been completely overhauled. Featuring snazzy new painting and removal animations, players can now paint modular trees directly onto the terrain. Move, scale and rotate to your heart's content!

Depending on what trees are toggled in the UI, players can selectively remove certain plants from their painted environments without the fear of destroying everything - very useful for dense scenes like forests.

  • New Themes, Styles & Items
Over 150 new items have been added to Beta (500+ total!) along with over 60 different styles found across a number of modules and customizable pieces. There’s a lot of content to sink your teeth into and this number will only continue to grow throughout Beta and beyond.

  • Undo/Redo
With undo and redo, no mistake is permanent. Fences, paths, terrain, water and the modular system all support this much needed feature.

Management & Progression
  • Finances
On the surface, the financial management isn’t too dissimilar from Alpha, though the groundwork for future gameplay integrations with loans and exhibit donations has been laid out. It’s there, but it’ll see more substantial use as Beta improves.

  • Excavations
Use science points to unlock new animals and genetic skins with excavations! Discover new dig sites by increasing the park’s rating.

  • Basic Science Points
Passively accumulate science points over time to unlock new species. This system will receive a large update during beta once exhibit scoring has been implemented.
...

Thank you for reading November’s dev diary!

We hope you’re just as excited as us to begin the journey into Beta. We’ll be providing the community with a follow-up post on December 6th, so stay tuned for that.

Until next time,

- The PK Team

Spirit Swap: Lofi Beats to Match-3 To - kimchica

How can it be? We’re in the final stretch of 2021?! We’ve got an incredible groove going on with the Spirit Swap team: art team is making art, narrative folks are writing the BEST words, and this month’s update will focus on an aspect of the game we haven’t deep dived (doven? doved?) into quite yet: the UI/UX!

We also wanted to try something a little different: sit back, relax, and get ready to listen and watch this month’s update! Réjon, our UI/UX Lead, and Jenny, our Lead Producer, teamed up to create a video devlog for your enjoyment.

In it, Réjon talks in more detail about the UI/UX of Spirit Swap, particularly the process of creating wireframes (the skeleton) Samar’s Room, and how you’ll navigate it as a player! You’ll also learn more about how decorating and the spell system will work.

Please note that the footage is all WIP, but we hope you enjoy this foray into the world of Spirit Swap’s UI/UX this month!

(And, please, let us know if you enjoy the video format, or prefer written updates! Or both! Both is good!)

#FutureOfPlay

It’s baaaaack! One of our favorite showcases of the year: #FutureOfPlay! Hosted by the wonderful folks at GLITCH, this is one of the best game events to check out what’s coming up...and what you should be excited to play.

We’re super proud to announce we’ll be a part of the showcase this year, so keep an eye out for us ~ we can’t wait to see you there!

Watch it live at 3 PM PST on December 9th via Twitch or Youtube!

Lulu is cooking up a storm!

If you haven’t met Lulu, or need a fresh reminder, Lulu is a self-appointed peacemaker who often takes on more than she’s asked to, and she has a knack for getting her way most of the time. Just as a reminder, here’s her VN portrait, created by the impeccable Dice:

When Lulu can’t manage to turn her brain off, she turns to baking to settle her spirit. Lulu is also very self-aware, so she’ll alway give you femme and grace...oh, and she’s obsessed with bunnies!
We had to be sure to share this beautiful concept art (below) for the animated sprite of our favorite baker in Demashq. Our artist, Sam, really outdid themselves with her:

Catch you next month ~

The next update will be here before you know it!

We’d love to hear what you think: anything you’re wanting to hear more about? Did you like the video devlog? Let us know via Twitter, our Discord, or here in the comments. And, if you enjoy TikTok, be sure to follow us there -- we’re starting to hop in and share content there too. Talk soon!

Love,

The Spirit Swap Team

Stardew Valley - ConcernedApe

Hey everyone,

1.5.5 just went live. It's a small update, which doesn't add new content, but has some important technical changes for modders, some quality of life changes, and some bug fixes:

[Architectural changes]
- Migrated the game from XNA (targeting .NET Framework 4.5.2) to MonoGame (targeting .NET 5). This futureproofs the game and allows mods to access more than 4 gigs of RAM.
- Made various internal changes for mod authors.

[Quality of life changes]
- Holding the CTRL key in addition to shift now lets you purchase/craft stacks of 25 items at a time.
- When starting a new save, many settings now default to what they were the last time you played the game. Some settings like zoom level, gamepad mode, and multiplayer server privacy aren't copied over.
- You can now build or move farm buildings onto artifact spots. This destroys the artifact spots.
- You can now nudge pets out of the way while building/moving a building by clicking on them.
- You can now buy back items accidentally sold in the same shopping session.
- The in-game time is now shown on the upper-right hand corner of the screen when playing Journey of the Prairie King in multiplayer.
- Grass placed using Grass Starter during Winter no longer disappears when the game is reloaded (but it still won't grow or spread).

[Localization fixes]
- Fixed Shane's 6-heart event soft-locking in the Hungarian translation.
- Fixed incorrect backslash characters in various events in the Hungarian localization.
- Fixed typos in the French localization.
- Fixed a typo in Livin' Off The Land that incorrectly states that Super Cucumber can be caught in Winter.

[Cosmetic fixes]
- Added commas to the price display on the various building construction menus.
- Adjusted collisions in the Calico Desert to avoid a minor sorting issue on the top-left edge of the raised cliffside.
- Fixed issue where Sebastian's sprite would shift into an invalid position at 1:00 PM when he's working on his bike on the farm.

[General fixes]
- After completing the Cryptic Note quest, subsequently reaching the 100th floor of the Skull Cavern will guarantee a loot chest.
- Fixed an issue where hard mode mines could become permanently enabled.
- The Blacksmith profession now affects Radioactive Bars.
- Garden Pots no longer lose any applied fertilizers when they are harvested from.
- Fixed the explosion radius not being centered when dislodging flooring and certain other types of items.
- When placing a Garden Pot on Ginger Island on a rainy day, it will now spawn with its dirt correctly watered.
- Fixed an issue where moving a cabin with a cellar would cause the stairs to the cellar to warp the players out of bounds for the rest of the play session.
- Fixed a case where entering the Farm from the south on horseback and triggering an event could cause the player to get stuck in a wall.
- Fixed various invisible tiles preventing certain spots in the Mountain lake from spawning fish activity bubbles.
- Fixed the tile holding the plant on Elliott's table not being passable from behind.
- Fixed some tiles on the left side of the beach farm being unbuildable.

If, for any reason, you want to play on the "legacy" 32-bit version, it's still available on Steam (right click Stardew > properties > betas > select "Compatibility" version).

If you are a modder, please check out PathosChild's 1.5.5 migration guide, which goes into greater depth on some of the changes in this patch.

A 1.5.6 update is also currently underway. We're working directly with PathosChild (creator of SMAPI, a very popular Stardew modding tool) to add even more modding support to the game, including some long requested "holy grail" changes which should make some aspects of modding much easier in the future. We've given PathosChild source code access to help us accomplish this task.

There may be some new content in 1.5.6, too, but it's not going to be anything huge like 1.5.

Thanks for playing Stardew Valley!

Hotfix at 12/7/2021 4:35PM PST:
- Fixed a memory leak related to sound effects.
- Fixed an issue where the quitting the game in exclusive fullscreen would revert to borderless windowed upon reloading the game.
- Fixed an issue where last used volume levels weren't properly applying when starting a new game.
- Fixed Special Orders board appearing distorted during festivals.
- MODDING: [HOURS_24_00] is now properly zero padded.

8:30PM PST:
-Hotfix to fix the hotfix
MapleStory - Ghiblee
Hi Maplers,

For those that don’t know who I am, my name is Dennis, one of the Producers here at Nexon.

For those that do recognize my name, it may have come as a surprise to see me a couple of weeks ago at MapleStory Fest and see this memo coming from me today. It’s been a little over two years since I stepped away from working on MapleStory to produce other projects, but as some of you can guess, I’m honored to announce that I have rejoined the MapleStory team.

Working on other projects at Nexon was immensely fun and rewarding, but it would be insincere of me to say I didn’t miss working on MapleStory and helping the entire team deliver this game to all of you. Much of the knowledge and experience that I used to help those other projects succeed was developed in the five or so years I had worked on MapleStory. So I’m excited to jump back in it with all of you. However, I know my experiences are probably not what you want to hear about, so perhaps I can elaborate about them another time.

Let’s talk briefly about MapleStory.

First of all, as I mentioned above, we have had a fantastic team working on MapleStory, and one of the largest parts of my responsibilities now is to allow them to do the best work that they can. The past two years have brought amazing growth to MapleStory and I only hope to help this team continue that growth with our future updates and plans.

Of course, I understand that there are many ongoing topics and issues that you would like more communication about, and as you can see from our recent Pink Bean Bulletin about recent bans, we have even more ways now to speak to these concerns. Also, as I’ve mentioned in past memos and you’ve no doubt heard from other Producers as well, it can become difficult for us to strike a balance between working on addressing the issues and feedback you all have behind the scenes and communicating with you all about that work. Please continue to bear with us as we keep working on that balance.

We also want to thank you for your patience with our teams these past few days as we investigated and resolved the ongoing stability issues with NA Reboot channels. Although it seems like the channels are relatively stable for now, our teams are still looking into the root cause of these issues to determine a long-term solution. We are currently testing some of these fixes and hope to apply them soon in an upcoming maintenance.

Aside from the above, I don’t have much to discuss in depth this time, so I’ll keep this memo brief.

However, I do want to mention that we’ve heard some of you have been excited to see things like a 64-bit client and Yeti x Pink Bean World released in other services. While we can’t 100% confirm these things will be coming to Global MapleStory, we have been actively discussing the possibility of releasing them in a future update. Please stay tuned for more information from our teams about this and many other topics in the future.

Lastly, I just want to personally say thank you to each and every one of you for continuing to support MapleStory with the passion and dedication that you all have. As I mentioned in my last memo, MapleStory is an important game for Nexon and for all of us who work on it, so we ask that you continue to help us to grow and improve this game with you.

Thank you,

Dennis ‘SavageAce’ Bernardo
Senior Producer – MapleStory

There is now an Ultra game speed. Soon I'm gonna halve the game speed while keeping the 60 FPS framerate, just not now.

Also, there's a new Warlordocracy Demo up that adds a new map, a default skill training system (no more need for scripting each training option). Also fixed a couple AI bugs.
