It is time for an update on our World Championship Grand Finals!
On October 31st we qualified four players for the Grand Finals, and the following day started working to bring them over to Iceland for the final showdown.
Unfortunately, due to the state of covid in the world, our Chinese competitors were unable to travel to Iceland for the period of the Grand Finals, a prerequisite for competing for the world championship. As such, we have had to replace three competitors from the top 4. For more information on how we are rewarding these players, please see the end of the article.
Instead the runners up in the elimination bracket will take their place. This means our top four players traveling to Iceland, competing for the title of World Champion and their share of the $10.000 prize pool are….. Drumroll please!
The Champions of the 2021 KARDS World Championship
Viebator
Viebator is a veteran of the game, having placed 2nd in the first two seasons of KARDS ever held. Viebator stormed his way to a decisive season win during the third season of KARDS in June 2019. Having reached the pinnacle of the game at the time, Viebator took an extended break only returning recently, “just in time to win worlds” as he says in his own words.
Jking7
Jking7 is a familiar name for anyone that has followed KARDS for the past couple of years. Having won 15 seasons of KARDS or around 48% of all KARDS seasons that have been played, no player wants to stare across the battlefield and see Jking7 as his opponent. He has also proven himself in a tournament setting and is currently tied for the most Officer Club Championship wins in KARDS history, having secured the title four times.
Darkness
Darkness is another long standing veteran of the KARDS scene, having placed near the top of the ladder more often than not and has secured himself three season wins. Darkness is a decorated tournament player as well, having won back to back KARDS Opens when they first began and secured himself in the top 8 of the Officers Club Championship on multiple occasions. Darkness is a prolific streamer www.twitch.tv/darkness4gaming and one of the more popular content creators in KARDS, allowing those interested to peak inside the brain of a top KARDS player.
Bison
Bison is the “youngest” player of the four in terms of time spent in KARDS, having played since February 2020 but he has been a regular near the top of the ladder in recent months. Bison might not have a season or tournament win under his belt, but this fired up Frenchman is coming for the win in the World Championship Grand finals.
Date and Time
The Grand Finals for the KARDS 2021 World Championship will be played live from Iceland on the 4th and 5th of December. The action will commence at 13:00 each day with every second of it broadcast live on our Twitch channel www.twitch.tv/kardsccg
Make sure you tune in and catch the epic finale of the 2021 KARDS World Championship.
Chinese invitational
With Covid-19 ramping up again and increased restrictions starting to take effect, our fantastic finalists from China were unable to make the trek to Iceland and participate in the Grand Finals. We are, however, extremely impressed by their achievements and don’t want them to go unrecognized!
This is why we will be hosting a special edition invitational tournament on January 26th for the top World Championship candidates from the Chinese community with a prize pool of $5000!
The invitational will feature the three players unable to make it to Iceland for the WC Grand Finals, as well as, a legend of the game from the Chinese community in Fenrir, a back to back World Championship quarter finalist! With this, the field is set for the ultimate showdown within the Chinese community.
Invitational Participants
CCMS-031
CCMS-031 is our reigning World Champion haven risen from relative obscurity during the last World Championship in 2020, CCMS proved himself as one of the top minds in KARDS through his dominant performance in the 2020 Grand Finals, securing him the coveted title of World Champion. He’ll be looking to extend his winning streak by taking home first place in the invitational.
cu元素收集大师
cu元素收集大师 has become a staple of the KARDS competitive scene, securing multiple appearances in tournament playoffs and securing a back to back spot in the semi-finals of the KARDS World Championship. Cu元素收集大师 is ready to secure his name in the history books for KARDS with a win during the invitational.
孙笑川258
孙笑川258 is a veteran of the draft queue, having conquered most challenges in the draft queue 孙笑川258 has relatively recently started making a splash within the competitive scene but from his appearances it is clear this is a talented player. He is now on the quest of building his legacy within the KARDS community and a win during the invitational would be the perfect start.
Fenrir
Fenrir is a longstanding KARDS player having started playing well before the game released. He appeared in the Grand Finals top 4 in Iceland for the 2019 KARDS World Championship and qualified for the Grand Finals again in 2020. Fenrir primarily plays draft, but when he makes the venture over to constructed people are bound to be shaking in their boots. Having been fairly inactive over the recent months, it will be interesting to see how the Chinese veteran, Fenrir, fares against the young and hungry competitors waiting for him in the invitational.
Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for further updates on the 2021 KARDS World Championship Grand Finals as well as the Chinese Invitational!

We would like to invite you to the video presentation organized together with Rely On Horror - "MADNIGHT 2021: Horror Showcase", during which new materials from the widely understood horror games produced by Madmind Studio will be presented, with guest participation of developers from other studios.
MADNIGHT 2021: The Horror Showcase takes place December 16, 2021.
The entire event will be available at http://www.relyonhorror.com - one of the largest, most popular websites focused on horror games.
MADNIGHT 2021 is an event unprecedented in the gaming industry, during which players will be able to get to meet the Hell Messenger for the first time - a mysterious creature with which they have been interacting for many months on our social media and Madmind Studio's Discord channel.
The Hell Messenger will take viewers into a terrifying world of horror that can take many forms. Have you ever wondered what working in a crematorium looks like? What does a person with advanced paranoid schizophrenia feel and see? Or maybe you want an extreme dose of uncompromising brutality and gore? You will see all these and many other attractions soon during MADNIGHT 2021!
MADNIGHT 2021 Horror Showcase will feature:
- Madmind Studio - Black Rat - Live Motion Games - Lunarium Creations - IGNIBIT - Woodland Games
Over the past five years, Madmind Studio has become synonymous with frightening, controversial and violent games. This year's premiere of the studio's latest game, Succubus, was very well received by players and critics who decided to give the game very positive recommendations.
In addition to good grades, Succubus achieved great financial results. Released on October 5 2021, the game has so far made more money on Steam than the studio's previous game, Agony, in more than three years since its release.
“Succubus, announced back in 2018, after almost three full years of production, has finally been released. We wanted the game to be able to defend itself with the quality of workmanship and an original, previously unheard of in video games, dose of uncensored brutality on the day of its premiere. We are looking forward to the premiere of the first Succubus DLC, which will be released during MADNIGHT 2021 ” - Madmind Studio.

Boots on the ground, troopers! The long-awaited Vickie ending (House Party version 0.20.3) is here. Thanks for your patience as our team worked to put together and polish her steamy new content!
Unless you’ve been living deep inside your man-cave for the past couple of months, you already know that Vickie’s update brings sexalicious threesomes to the party. Complete Vickie’s Training and she’ll now give you the opportunity to convince another NPC to join you and her in a scorching hot ménage à trois.
Relationships matter when it comes to schmoozing your favorite partygoers, so be sure to get on good terms with NPCs before you try to flirt their pants off. Some sexaholics like your good ol’ brah Pat and Vickie-obsessed fanboy Frank won’t turn you down even if they hate your guts, but other NPCs (like lovable southern belle Brittney and domineering sexy genius Katherine) won’t even consider you if you haven’t been intimate with them. Most of the other partiers will reject a threesome offer unless you’re a charismatic god. If you work for it, though, you'll be in for a spicy new array of intimacy rewards, animations, and cutscenes.
Vickie’s crotch-melting story content aside, we also listened to feedback from all of you awesome doods about how you’ve been hearing a lot of the same ambient NPC conversations around the house. We get it. We know you’re playing for a while chasing those achievements, so we freshened up the background chatter with a variety of clues about hidden items, NPC backstories, and endgame story content.
Not only that, but we heard your requests for more guidance around the party. We know with House Party being such an open sandbox game, it’s sometimes difficult to know how to perform certain actions or approach various in-game Opportunities. In previous updates, we added an awesome new Opportunity menu, but alongside Vickie’s finale we introduced a variety of in-game Tutorials to help, too. Opt into these by clicking the check box in the Main Menu or Title Screen UI. They’ll show up one time while playing, and you can reset them manually in the Main Menu. Here’s hoping this helps all of our brahs have an easier time exploring the party!
For those of you who follow our social media and testing update posts, you’re well aware that our team took longer than expected to release this update. Did we mention how amazing you dudes are for being so supportive and patient? Anyway, this was because we added a fuckton of polish to Vickie’s content and House Party overall. With each passing day, we’re getting closer to releasing the game from Early Access, and it’s important to us that we release a quality final version of House Party that our community is happy with. If you’re curious about every little thing we fixed and spruced up, check out the patch notes below.
Follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the latest brah-some game updates and announcements. Be sure to join our after party on Discord too!
Anyway, fuck reading! What you really want to do is go check out the threesomes, right? Enjoy, dudes, and be sure to let us know what you think about Vickie’s finale!
Note: French is the only updated translation at the moment but we will be adding more as we move along dudes!

This patch prepares the arrival of the second DLC of the game: "Splat Jaypak's Arenas". It also brings its fair share of bug fixes, the bigger ones are listed below.
Bug fixes: - Fixed a blocker when the Thief's nervous burst kills the target just before doing a critical parry - Fixed a blocker when the party leader is changed while the Thief goes to defuse a trad - Fixed a blocker when a character dies while executing its skill (self AOE damage or returned damage) - Fixed a blocker when using the Elf's "Unlikely strike" on an unconscious poisoned/burned ally - Fixed a blocker when critically failing the Ranger's "Poisoned shot" in certain circumstances - Fixed a blocker when trigerring traps in combat under certain circumstances - Fixed a blocker when playing the third fight of the tutoral under certain circumstances - Fixed a blocker when throwing the Dwarf onto more than one overwatch - Fixed a blocker when attacking with the Ranger's standard melee attack in the skating rink fight - Fixed a whole bunch of minor bugs
In this upcoming announcement, we will discuss the general plans and activities going on in the development studio and look at the bigger picture!
We are most of the way through our roadmap that we published at the start of the year, with just the natural disasters update outstanding. This major update and a couple more are in development, as well as several minor updates. We don't have any release dates yet but will let you know when we do.
Our release schedule is major updates every 12 to 16 weeks, and minor updates every 2 weeks. However, we have more recently done some "only bug fixes" minor updates which have been well received, As we focus more on quality improvements and fixes, we are considering that this type of minor update could become more common (perhaps every other minor update).
As previously discussed, we have also been working on our quality assurance procedures and we are spending longer testing updates, with clearer plans on exactly what changes need testing. The impact of this has immediately been noticeable and we continue to look for more ways we can improve the quality of updates.
Following the release of our new issue tracker, there has been another big improvement in the way we track and plan work internally. It is now so much easier for us to communicate with players and give individual support, as well as identify issues. Players have been very awesome and engaged with the new tool, and in kind, we have been doing our best to make the required improvements to the game.
The new issue tracker has helped so much, that we have been working on a 2nd phase of internal tools to help track tasks and workflow. The new task-tracker forms part of our agile workflow, and is built specifically around our new processes and should further help us track progress, communicate internally, and better control quality. In reality, this is just an internal website, but we are receiving around 1500 requests a month, and managing that volume is a challenge.
We remain committed to supporting Stormworks and are already working on many updates for the rest of the year and far into 2022. Developing Stormworks for this community of talented builders is very rewarding and few Steam developers are fortunate enough to be able to serve such an active and creative community. We value this, and are excited to continue bringing updates and improvements into the future.
Beyond Stormworks? As many players are already aware, we developed Carrier Command 2 which has been very rewarding and fun to build. We have also learned a lot from building a very different type of game from the ground up. We are not working on any other games right now, but are thinking about the future. We are very interested in modding, as are a huge number of our players, and any future game we might build should have much improved support for modding. We have been doing some research and development around this, intended for any future game engine we may create.
We will be back next week with a new and exciting minor update!
