Hey everyone! We've been hard at work to fix some more bugs and polish the game overall. Check out the patch notes below and don't hesitate to reach out on the Steam boards or on Discord if you have any questions or comments!
Patch Notes: 11/13/2021 - v10.42
- Blind and Stealth Mechanics Reworked. We heard your feedback and understand that no one was really a big fan of the "RNG" implementation of Stealth and Blind. So we reverted those changes closer to the older version: A blinded hero will have a 100% chance to miss all cards played on enemies. Anything played on allies or your minions will still cast. Stealthing will cause the enemy to retarget a random adjacent lane immediately and prevent any enemy from targeting them at the start of the next turn. If there is no "valid target" enemy will default to casting forward in its lane, potentially causing a stealthed target to be retargeted. If an enemy stealths, their lane can no longer be targeted, but they can take Area damage, Damage over time, etc... - Reworked Dark Rangers passive to only gain Stealth after taking a total of 25 damage in a turn (40 for the Super Elite) - Added some extra protections for quitting mid battle and continuing to prevent previous battle code from lingering in the next run. - Removed the "Buried Card" tile (Pick a Single card for a hero) and replaced it with more "Card Pile" nodes that give 3 random cards for a specific hero. - Fixed a bug where dead enemies could cast in rare circumstances. - Fixed a few more bugs in the tutorial that would prevent moving past the first battle. - Changed the Essence Rewards to now give +AP, +Redraw, or a big team heal. - Fixed Oath of Protection using the final value to spread to allies. - Fixed Execute from registering two kills instead of just one. - Fixed "Corrupted Battles" in Heroic mode and higher difficulties, to give the proper effect to the battle. They cost NO threat to fight, but apply a negative status effect to all Heroes and Enemies alike, at the start of each turn. - Updated and remastered some music tracks and a lot of sound fx. - Added more missing Hero Frames from achievements (Scorched lands in particular). - Added the Neutral card unlock visual to the end of run details. - Improved the "Unlocked new Card" visual at end of run, with a fresher look and more exciting VFX. - Fixed Events that traded random potion for something else and that potions remaining visible in future battles. - Fixed instances of the AP Cost of a card not updating or reflecting the right (usually lower) amount. - Fixed Toughness from multiplying its stacks to show a wrong number. - Added Hero Levels indicator right to the hero asset in the team builder and collection. - Fixed Angorn's Unlock Achievement from messing up the ability to view him before he's unlocked. - Healing from Campsites increased to 20 (from 10). - Starting HP for Heroes reduced by 2 Health across the board. - Fixed Akhan's Passive Mass Confusion from doing some truly spectacularly confusing stuff. Now adds cards to your deck, like its supposed to. - Updated the Credits list accessible from the main menu. - Dialogues before a Boss now darken for the person not talking to clarify who is saying what. - Fixed an issue where enemies would recast cards from a previous battle if they were forced to swap lanes in the last battle. - Updated a ton of cards with final illustrations. - Updated a ton of cards with final VFX and SFX. - Fixed Exploding Paw from now also Shield-stealing. - Changed Smoke Bomb to apply Stealth and Cleanse to a single target. - Fixed Static Conduit passive for Skaros Skycaller to work as written on the card. - Reworked a few enemy abilities that applied Blind in an Area, which became absolutely broken after the Blind change. - Changed the Event Popups and Shard Battle popup to not cover up the face of the super elite, which was annoying. - All the Passives for Akhan's Claws have been changed to only affect the claw and no longer do Area effects. - Updated Lazaar's image with his new Bat-inspired personae. - Various other small bug fixes and improvements.
Fixes: - Physics based enemies which weren't killing the player. - Now rotating enemies from waifu 5 levels aren't ignoring player border immunity. - Fixed camera shaking.
Units now have an experience level icon displayed if they are level 1+. The tool tip for this icon will show what benefits the unit has gained from those experience levels.
Unit experience level display also comes with modding support. See the Modding Guide for instructions on how to change the display with custom images and frames.
Improved the unit strength display in most windows to be more readable, with larger and clearer font.
Unit strength display now has a tooltip showing the max strength of the unit - and the default strength of the unit type, if a unit is understrength.
Tribal Population Growth: Migration now provides a greater benefit to Population Growth.
Tribal Camp: An action has been added which allows allocating Food from faction stores to a particular Camp. This will boost Population Growth and provide a buffer against starvation (through a local Food store increase), based on the amount of Food provided.
Shrine Dedication: Religion-class followers now contribute to the pool of available dedications. The religion still has to be compatible with the faction, but in most cases this will be so.
Influential: New character trait which acts as 'counts-as-class' for Civic.
Divine Favor: Most temporary boons now last 60% longer.
Dungeon Expeditions: Increased the experience benefit from having a Mentor in the party. However, Mentors can now longer give other Mentors bonus experience.
Character Experience: Overseeing construction of a site or the upgrade of an outpost (to city/fortress) will now yield Experience for the assigned character.
Save games are now listed in chronological order - even for autosave files. Many players have expressed that always having autosave at the top does not add value, and increases the risk of accidentally loading the wrong game file.
Workers Window: Settle City now includes in the query dialog whether a City has the blocking effect from recent settlement (including duration) and such options are now unselectable by default. Previously you would not be notified until you made a selection, and would have to reopen the window to select a new city.
Transfer Units / Split Army: Double-clicking a unit is now a shortcut for to the 'create new army' button. This allows quickly creating a new army with a specific initial unit.
"Give/Swap/Revoke Item" actions have been added to the Character Context Menu for Followers (when relevant).
Made some visual improvements to the Battle Report window in how units are shown.
Added notifications for the completion of City Settlement and Outpost Fortification projects.
Fixed an army state corruption bug related to saving/loading games during migrations.
Fixed a missing UI update trigger in the Dungeon Window.
Fixed Follower text overflow in the Trainer part of the Military Window.
Fixed Follower text overflow in the General/Officer panels of the Army Window.
Fixed a number of crash bugs in the Transfer Units window.
