Skipped posting a couple patches because I got lazy. You will have to make a NEW CHARACTER for this patch due to upgrades in the code which will break your game.

- Harvesting got an overhaul. When harvesting using WASD to influence the mini game along with the mouse buttons.
- Lots of monster updates with damage, health, reaction time, etc.
- Hair will now be hidden when putting on a helmet. There is a problem when loading the game still if you have hair and a helmet on. You just have to reequip to fix.
- Fixed Axe skill update to say "Axe" instead of "Axes".
- Added repairs to weapons and armor,
- Fixed weapon and armor values not saving.
- Watcher now drops items.
- Added housing back into the game. Very basic and buggy.
- Lots of minor bug fixes.
Path to Prosperity - Essence Games

Hey everyone!
As promised, today’s main image shows the new grasslands biome. I’ll use today’s post to show you some further views of it, explain some of our ideas, and give you another explanation of a (future) optimisation technique.

Starting off with the biome, we are intending this grassland biome to be the main source for food and farming on this map. Player 1 will start off closest to it, and it provides ample space to expand into, build fields in it, and will start off with a generous chance for banana tree groups to spawn. Below are some screenshots showing the flat space for buildings and fields:




Of course, there are a few hidden areas and treasures to be found in the grasslands, and while I won’t quite give their locations away, I’ll also show some of the water I placed around the biome to make looking for them a bit more enjoyable:



In the last picture, as well as the main one of the post, you can also see the humidity map I spoke about 2 weeks ago in action: the rocks closer to the water are more weathered and mossy, while the areas up on the mountain are a lot drier - something that will be even more apparent between biomes.

Finally, I want to also show one of the ways the biome is set up for future optimisation (when the game is a little further along and I have the time to prioritise): In a similar way to the ground cover I spoke about last week, the plants you see on the mountains, which can’t be reached by villagers, are set up that they can’t be interacted with. This allows us to cut down on overhead already, and in the future, means that we can unload them together with the mountain rocks themselves, as players are further away from them. As a result, we should then see improvements in RAM use as they get unloaded, helping us to get better performance once the full island starts to become a bit memory heavy. One example of this can be seen below:

I’ll introduce the next biome - the woodland valley - next week and will let you know some more about our other progress as well then!

- Easy mode zombies now tend to be slower on average.
- Easy mode zombies now have less health.
- Easy mode's first level now only requires finding one data module.
- Easy mode now identifies the location of the data module mercenaries are trying to recover on the mini map in the top right.
- Easy mode bullet damage is reduced from enemy mercenaries.
- Dying in easy mode no longer causes you to lose your weapons.
- Events that required ammo at the beginning of story maps now all require scrap only.
- Increased sprint timers for PVE mode.
- Increased the amount of ammo provided by crates.
- Hardened scene transition from reported issues.
- Fixed an issue with one of the zombie events.
